MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I have often wondered what after dark would be like to see what happens in our many acres of wooded area full of all kinds of animals. Imagine my excitement to read this adorable book about animals after dark. Of course my woods would be a bit different, but I love, love this sweet story for children to read. I can just imagine the children’s faces as they laugh and giggle at all the adorable animals.

Oliver Kent does a phenomenal job writing this sweet story. I can tell her love for animals as she writes about each of these wild animals. Adding the humor throughout the book makes this story so much more enjoyable, and I can hear the laughs and giggles of the children as this book is read to them.

Srimalie Bassani knocks it out of the park with all of the fabulous illustrations throughout this book. I love the blue colors reflecting the nighttime, and Bassani creats sweet animals that makes me want to give them a big hug! The smiles on each animal warms my heart. Each illustration perfectly matches the written page beside it.

And I can leave out the fantastic outside of this book. I can see children everywhere pulling this one off the shelves as soon as they see it. I think the talents of author Oliver Kent and Illustrator Srimalie Bassani work so well together, as can be beautifully seen. Secrets of the Wild by Olivia Kent and Illustrator Srimalie Bassani are getting Five Stars from me, and wish I could give it more.
