ABOUT THIS BOOK

When Englishwoman Catherine Haynes loses both her parents and her home in 1856, she decides to cross the Atlantic to find her American mother’s family in Louisiana. She enlists the help of Tom Worthington, a dashing Key West man who makes his living salvaging wrecked ships, but whose real goal in life is to bring to justice the man who stole his father’s ship and caused his untimely death.

When Catherine finally arrives at her family’s plantation, she finds it in disarray and her family absent landowners. Torn between returning to Key West with Tom or beginning the hard work of restoring the plantation, Catherine soon finds herself snared in a plot to steal her inheritance. When an incredible secret comes to light, both she and Tom will face a choice. Can they relinquish the dreams that have been holding them captive in order to step forward in faith–even if it costs them everything?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

After loosing her mother and father, Catherine Haynes leaves her home in England and makes the difficult trip across the ocean to America. Here she hopes to find her mothers family and the plantation they lived. But she faces even more difficulty after she arrived in Louisiana. It is then she meets sailor Tom Worthington, who is willing to help her in whatever way he can.

Wow! Author Christine Johnson writes a compelling story that will pull you in and won’t let go till the end! My heart was breaking for Catherine throughout the story as her situations worsen. I was so happy when Tom came on the scene, but the two of them get wrapped up into schemes, secrets, plots that will ruin them both.
There’s much going on in this story, but it keeps your attention, and keeps you reading till the end. I encourage you to pick up Freedom’s price and read it for yourself. And check out the first two books in this series as well.

About This Book

Her future–and her heart–hang in the balance.

Two years ago, Prosperity Jones waved farewell to her beloved David as the army sent him to faraway Key West. Now with her parents gone, she has but one prospect for the future: make the dangerous journey from Nantucket to Key West to reunite with David and secure a happier life.

But when Prosperity arrives penniless in the South, she is dismayed to find David has not been eagerly awaiting their reunion. In fact, he is married to someone else. Scrambling to survive and nursing a broken heart, Prosperity gains the friendship–and the affection–of a kind doctor. Could he be the answer to her loneliness? Or will her life be upended by circumstance yet again?

With a deft hand, Christine Johnson fills the senses with the sights, sounds, and smells of Key West in this heartwarming story of honor lost, honor redeemed, and a love forged in adversity.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

When Prosperity’s mother passed away, she was along, with not a lot of money. So, she decides to use what money she had to go to Key West where her fiancée was hoping for a happier life being with someone she knows. But what she didn’t except was to surprise David, and find the shock of her life that the love she thought she had was married to another. He had moved on, leaving her with nothing!

David is really a jerk, to put it nicely. He deserved a lot more that he rec’d because of what he did. I felt so bad for Prosperity, not knowing anyone. It’s when she meets a very kind Dr. that things starting looking up for her. Christine Johnson writes a wonderful and compelling story that will take you through a situation that no one should have to go through. But life happens, and Ms. Johnson does an amazing job of creating characters and developing their lives in a way that makes the story so realistic, it feels like reading a real life story. There was a lot going on in Honor Redeemed, and emotions flying everywhere, but through it all, God’s love, grace, forgiveness and redemption was so plain and clear. And that was so encouraging to me. Because God can take the horrible things in our lives and make something good and wonderful from them.

Love’s Rescue by Christine Johnson

Can a girl enamored with the adventurous seas ever be content with the tame life of a Southern belle?

When her mother dies, Elizabeth Benjamin heads home to Key West, determined to transform herself into the perfect Southern belle her parents always wished her to be. But nothing goes according to plan. Her brother resents her, the servants do not obey her, and Rourke O’Malley, the dashing man she vowed to forget, refuses to relinquish his hold on her heart. Worst of all, it becomes painfully obvious that her father is not the man he appears to be.

As family secrets come to light, Elizabeth is faced with a difficult choice: to perform her duty and abandon her dreams, or to leave her life of privilege behind to chase the man her father sees as little better than a pirate.

From the first emotional page, author Christine Johnson throws you into a world of impossible choices, hidden desires, and heart-melting romance in the steamy South.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Her mother’s death causes Elizabeth Benjamin  to return to her home in Key West, but things didn’t go as she thought it would. Though she needed her family, it seemed that they didn’t need her as much, and she sure wasn’t happy with her father’s pick as a husband for her. Was her trip back home a mistake?

Since this was my first book by Christine Johnson I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This book was as good as the cover is beautiful! I love the inviting cover! This was also my first story with a setting in the historical 1850’s Key West, Florida. There is a lot that makes up the plot of this story, danger, secrets, adventures seas, heart throbbing romance, and determination in the hearts of characters. Ms. Johnson does a marvelous job of weaving it all together to write a most amazing, entertaining and enjoyable story that I highly recommend. I will sure be looking for more books in this series.
