Kerry’s father didn’t complete the book he was writing before he passed away, but Kerry knew her fathers wishes were for her to finish the book for him. But the problem was, someone didn’t want Kerry to succeed in finishing her dad’s book. Then she meets Graham Mc Nair, who claims that he knew Kerry’s dad years ago. Could this be the man of Kerry’s dreams, or should she be suspicious of him since things are suspicious about her dad’s book?
This is a really enjoyable read, and a real page turner. The mystery behind who-done-it will sure be enough to keep you interested in this book. And I was excited for Kerry about being able to finish her dad’s book. This is another awesome read by one of America’s favorite authors, Grace Livingston Hill.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
All Fraley MacPherson wants is to find a place of peace, no fear, and a place she can call home again. I enjoyed following Fraley’s journey after she leaves her home, a home that was full of hear. Fraley’s character was one of determination, but she struggles with many issues because of her past. George is just the person she needs in her life, but letting him into her life and her past is not that easy for Fraley. I like the way Ms. Hill weaves scripture together with the characters lives, showing God in their everyday living.
I am so glad Barbour Books decided to bring back the much loved books of author Grace Livingston Hill. It is pure pleasure at its best being able to read her work after so many years. I really encourage you to pick up a copy of Ladybird, and check out the other books by his well know author of Christian fiction

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
I didn’t realize this was a Christmas story until I started reading it. I rarely read the backs of books or reviews, if I like the book cover, or if I know the author, I read the book! And it was both in this case. It is so amazing to me that a book written around sixty years ago still has a high honor in the Christian fiction world today. I am so glad Barbour book decided to bring back there Grace Livingston Hill books for all of us to enjoy.
While taking medicine up the mountain to someone who needed it to live, Alan Monteith found himself spending time in the presence of the beautiful Daryl Devereaux , and they were clearly attracted to each other. I really enjoyed reading this story set in the late 1920’s. A lot of tension was involved because of the snow storm, and Alan and Daryl’s brother having to walk up the snow filled mountain. And it was Christmas at that. It is nice to read a book written so long ago, the writing has changed, but I love that the Gospel is always the same. Just as it is in this book. Grace Livingston Hill never fails to share the plan of Salvation through Christ in her books. And she has an awesome way of weaving Salvation and Scripture throughout the book. I really want to encourage you to pick up a copy of The Substitute Guest, and to check Barbour Books for many more books written so long ago by the Queen of Fiction.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Spoiled debutante Tasha Endicott is not at all happy when she is stranded at the train station because of a blizzard, but maybe being stranded at the home of Thurly Macdonald is just what she needs. It is sure be a challenge. But the thing that is so different is the fact that this book was written when romance, dating and just about everything was different. And The culture differences between Tasha and Thurly was really, really different. I so much enjoyed Tasha being brought down a bit in the way she lived. And an attraction couldn’t be between the two of them, could it? Not with the high society young lady Tasha Endicott.
This books was just plain fun for me to read. This story is heartwarming, and gives you that special feeling when you are finished. And I appreciate Ms. Hill weaving Scriptures and Truths from the Bible in the lives of these people. I am having so much fun taking a trip back in time with these books by Grace Livingston Hill. And a big thanks to Barbour Books for bringing them back into our lives.
