MY THOUGHTS ON THIS DEVOTIONAL 

I haven’t  see a copy of the BibleForce Heros Bible, but this Devotional is a lot like it. There are 100 or more devotions, each taking a two page spread. The interesting and very cool graphics go along with the devotions. There are “Fun Facts” “Be a Hero” and “Hero Training” with each devotion, along with the graphics. And I love that the graphics are comic book like. They appeal to the older elementary and middle school kids, which this Devotional seems to be the right fit for.

There are so many Devotionals for kids out there, and I encourage you to give this a try. This one would be a very good one to read to your child, no matter the age, so you can discuss the devotions together.  There are a lot if possibilities with this Devotional.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BIBLE

Every Christian is a leader, really. In everything we do, we need to be leaders of God’s Word, and I believe this Leadership Bible can help teach us how to be that leader.

John Maxwell has taken the NIV version of the Bible and added his teaching notes on leadership to make up this Leadership Bible. The first two things that caught my eye were the 21 Laws of Leadership and the 21 Qualities of a Leader. He goes into full detail of both of these issues. Also there are many  biographical profiles that will give examples of leadership, as well as tons of study notes and verses that deal with leadership.

And I can’t leave out the looks of the Bible. It is a soft leather, burgundy with quality pages. It’s not a heavy Bible, the font is a comfort print, which I think may mean it is a little easier on the eyes that some of the smaller print bibles. It just has a nice look and a nice feel to it. I definitely think this would be Ann excellent addition to your Bible study tools. I highly recommend this Bible to everyone!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BIBLE

I wanted to review the hardcover edition of this Bible to see if was different from the leather like covers. They are pretty much the same, both having the amazing insights from Dr. Warren Wiersbe.

The hardcover has a beautiful dust jacket that looks like the cover. It’s a little heavy, but this is a Bible you will be using for Bible study so you probably won’t be carrying it a lot. The one thing I love about the Wiersbe Bible is all of the  lifetime of powerful teachings of Dr. Wiersbe. From his Back to the Bible radio broadcast to all of the amazing “BE Series”  gives readers and those who study the Bible hundreds and hundreds, and many more hundreds of Bible truths and promises taught by this amazing Bible teacher.

We all know there are so many Bibles and study Bibles out there today, but this is truly one you don’t want to miss out on. And this one being a hard cover with the beautiful dust jacket, it is a more affordable price than the leather ones. I highly recommend this bible to everyone!

When I first saw this title I was like some other people, I thought there is no way to understand the Bible in 30 days. But as I started looking through the book, and all of the different features there, I begin to understand a little  better where this author was coming from. And as I started going through the chapters, the different exercises in each chapter, my understanding of my Bible begin to come together and make a difference. Ive taken a few pictures to show you some of the different things that’s  in this book, things that really helped me a lot.

And I am not finished with this book. I went through it pretty fast to do this review, but I plan to make it a Bible study shortly and go through it taking it much slower. There is so much in this one book. And since there over 500,000 copies in print, well that tells you something! I wish there was some way I could get this book into the hands and homes of every Christian, as well as everyone that wants to understand their Bibles better. I highly recommend this book, 30 Days to Understanding the Bible, by Max Anders.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BIBLE

I really like this Apologetic Study Bible is a great addition to my Bible Study tools. It helps be to understand how the Bible and science can work together. And it helps to strengthen my faith because it proves what I believe with facts and It answers question on why people say the Bible contradicts itself.

There are many tools in this Bible that are so helpful, but to me all of the many articles were interesting to me and in these wide range of articles I am still reading and learning more than I ever imagined from this Bible. These articles were written by the most well know apologist, theologians and scholars, many names you will surely recognize.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention the twisted scripture explanations that explain verses that are misused by so many people. And I can go on and on about the many other tools that have already been helpful to me, and will continue to help in my knowledge of the scriptures.

And author Lisa-Jo Baker shares her thoughts and so many illustrations and tipsily this subject in her new book Never Unfriended. You will find yourself shedding many tears and sometimes just downright laugh so much as you read this amazing and precious book. And I say precious because, through the wonderful stories of other pinned here in this book, Ms. Baker teaches us how to have lasting friends that we can love and trust for a lifetime. And most importantly, she teaches about the friend we can always trust, the friend that is closer than a brother, the friend that never leaves us, our Savior, Jesus Christ. What a lovely and beautiful book to read for yourself and give to others.

As I read through the stories for others, I found a lot of things relating to my own life, as I feel all those who read this book will find. And I appreciate that Ms. Baker guides our hearts and thoughts toward God and His everlasting love for us. And she does it in such a way that doesn’t sound preachy, comdemning or judgmental, she shares in that soft, warm and sweet way that makes us feel loved and wanted as friends.

I highly recommend this book to every woman out there. This is a needed read, a read that will change your heart and life, giving you a peaceful attitude on friendships. This book was given to me by them publisher B&H publishers. This is a really neat study Bible, because of the online access to so many digital study resources about Bible discipleship and more studies that will help you grow in learning God’s Word. There are also a lot of study tools, articles written, and notes throughout this Bible that are unique and great study tools.

One really good study tool is the SOAP Study throughout the Bible, which is Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. Other things include, at the beginning of each chapter there are sections detailing what it in each chapter, like these, outlines, plus there is a timeline for each chapter. Throughout the book there are pages that you can write notes, as well as a space on the side of each page to write any notes you want to write.

This copy of the NIV Life Connect Study Bible is the hard copy with dust jacket. It is very attractive looking, and the inside format is neatly laid out to make it simple and easier to study. The red letter addition with Jesus’ words and the maps in the back of the Bible completes this wonderful study Bible.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is a really neat Bible handbook from Kregel Publishers. The Candle Bible Handbook is for 8 to 12 year olds and would be an awesome addition to their library, because it can be a wonderful study tool for your child to use while reading the Bible or reading Bible stories. There are many things to help with Bible study including study questions, tips to watch for when reading, an outline an description of the book, along with a little box with important information. And you will also find a section with Big ideas in the Bible, Bible Promises, Fifty very important passages in the Bible and Who’s Who in the Bible. And of course this is just a touch of what you will find in this neat handbook.

I really like this book that will be an additional study tool when studying the Bible. I found it interesting myself as I read through it and went over the different things added to help study. If you have kids in this age group, or I think even teenagers would like this, I highly recommend that you pick up a copy of The Candle Bible Handbook. You will find it very informative and interesting.

Have you ever read devotionals and could feel the heart of the author? This is how it was for me reading Rose Johnson’s devotional God, Me and Sweet Ice Tea. Rose has written a sweet book of devotions that reflect on scripture from God’s Word. Each devotion is about a different scripture, they are very short, it only takes a few minutes to read each one. After each devotion you will find a collection of scripture if you want to read more on the topic for that day. There are lines for journaling and answering questions, there is a prayer, a prayer focus, and Today’s Sweet Tea Moments. Each devotion is three to four pages long.

First of all, I love this little book, and it is small enough to slip in your purse and take with you. The devotions deal with issues such as, Resolutions, what the Lord requires from us, complaining, obedience, taming the tongue, perfect peace, a life of service, and this is just a small insight at what is in this special devotional. This is a devotional you can use in several ways. If you only have time for a quick read, you can read just the devotion, or you can take more time to look up the scripture, answer the questions and meditate on what God has for you for that specific day. Either way, you will find this to be a very important book to keep around. And I especially appreciate the way Ms. Rose puts her heart into each thing she writes. As I read this book, I could feel Rose’s love for the Lord and her willingness to serve Him. To me, this is what makes God, Me, and Sweet Ice Tea such a special devotion for you to have. I love my copy, and appreciate Rose Chandler Johnson providing it for me to read and review this book, and the opinions I have expressed her are mine only.

Irene  and Domingo Garcia’s life didn’t get off to a really good start, when at sixteen they married, expecting their first. That in itself is difficult for a couple so young. And to add Domingo’s drinking and abuse, didn’t make for a happy marriage at all. This book shows the changes that happens in a person life when they give God control.

Rich in Love tells the stories of real people, and how God can change lives. Lives that are so messed up that there is no way out, except turning to the Lord. I appreciate this couple and these individuals for the willingness to tell about the darker sides of their lives. This is truly a book of love, patience, forgiveness and God’s Amazing Grace! I encourage any couple, whether you are having a tough time or not, to read and study this book. There is something for everyone here.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Is your life perfect? Yeah, mine isn’t either, and neither is anyone elses! And that is why we all need this book by Holly Gerth! Holly guides us through chapters such as: Who You Are Is Still the Same; You’re Stronger Than You Know; Your Mind Is A Powerful Gift; Your Heart Is Worth Guarding and You Can Keep from Sabotaging Yourself. And this is just some of the topics Ms. Gerth teaches us in this wonderful book. This would make an awesome individual Bible study or a study for a small group of Sunday school class. I didn’t go through it this time as a study, but I plan to do that to get the full effect of this book.

ABOUT SWORD STUDY….ALL LEVELS

Organized into different levels according to age, each study provides in-depth material from the same book of the Bible. Each study book is synchronized to cover the same truths at the same time but with graphics and learning tools appropriate for the age group.

·                                 Level 1, for ages 4-7, is an activity book with coloring, drawing, matching and other fun learning tools.

·                                 Level 2, for ages 7-10, contains light reading, fill-in-the-blank, and application sections.

·                                 Level 3, for ages 11-14, involves more investigation and questions for the student to answer.

·                                 Level 4, for teens and adults, steps up the reading and the depth of study including the definition of several Greek or Hebrew terms.

·                                 Level 5 is for the parent or study leader with guidance and background to lead a group of all ages.

The Sword Study series, originally created for competitors in The Shelby Kennedy Foundation’s National Bible Bee, is now available to everyone for the first time. Families no longer have to compete in the Bible Bee to establish family discipleship in the home with this one-of-a-kind study.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BIBLE STUDY

Since it is just me at home to go through this study, I used the Level 5 workbook, and compared each of the other levels. This is an amazing study for a family. Or it would be a wonderful study for a church to use for small groups or Sunday School classes. The Bible study on II Timothy is for 10 weeks, and is very in depth,  very well structured, giving parents or leaders everything you need to successfully lead this study. It is so much in these studies you could easily spread it out over more than 10 weeks, or I would suggest keeping it, and going through it again later on.

The special thing I like about this study is that there is a workbook for each age level. Everyone is learning the same things from the same scripture, but at their own level. Even a four year-old can do a simple worksheet starting off with praying, and then coloring a picture about the study for that day. I really like that each day encourages everyone to pray, actually write down scripture verses and read their Bibles. I love workbooks when I study because I learn so much more when I have to dig for answers to questions, and then write those answers down. Each day also gives a place to Apply the lesson, causing each person to think about what they have studied for that day. And it ends with A.C.T.S. Prayer Time, which is Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication.

This study is definitely worth check into. I have been through many Bible studies with workbooks like this, and I can truly say this is one of the best I have found. I will be keeping each of these books for further studies with different age levels.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Reading this book clearly shows that women have always experienced hurt in some way. Authors Dena Dyer and Tina Samples’ Wounded Women of the Bible gives ladies an inside look at more than a dozen women throughout Bible time and the hurts and difficulties they faced. We read the stories  of Dinah, Ruth, Hagar, Ichabod’s Mother, Mary and Martha, and others, getting to know they ladies in a really interesting and unique way.

Finding Hope When Life Hurts is truly what we learned from this book through the lives of each of these ladies. Dena Dyer and Tina Samples leave nothing out as they study and explore what the Bible says. I also appreciate the authors opening their own lives and showing the hurts and struggles they have faced in their lives. To me, this makes the book even more special because we are not only getting truths from the Bible, we are getting truths from real people’s lives.
