What will it cost this bodyguard to save the woman he loves?

Bodyguard, Tate Marshall, has always been the family troublemaker. Maybe it’s his impulsive propensity to get into the middle of problems that don’t belong to him. But once in, he can’t stop himself from trying to solve them and that includes his recent dilemma. He’s in love with the woman he’s supposed to protect, the beautiful Gloria, “Glo” Jackson, daughter of US Senator and presidential hopeful Reba Jackson. A member of the country band, the Yankee Belles, Glo was targeted in a recent terrorist attack designed to deter her mother from running.

Glo is as stubborn as her mother, and Glo isn’t about to hide from threats, at least the kind that won’t cost her heart. Because she’s already paid a terrible price for the war on terror, and she can’t let herself love a man who might die, especially because of her.

As the campaign heats up and the threats deepen, so does the attraction between Tate and Glo. But when they’re discovered, and Tate is fired, what will he do to protect the woman he loves?

And what will Glo do to keep from losing another man to the costs of war?

The gripping second installment of the Marshall Family series.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Tate is the second book in the Montana Marshall’s series, and he is the second brother! This is Tate and Glo’s story, a romance that will have you aggravated, and then enjoying their journey. And it’s a pretty rough journey at times because of the baggage they both bring into the relationship, as well as the struggles they will find themselves in. Which I think makes the story and the characters more realistic and believable. Struggles, this is real life.
With a Susan May Wareen book, I know I’m in for reading a deeply thought out and comprehensive story, with strong feelings and much tension. And a story that shows the Christian life within the characters of the book. As this story, Tate does. I love the Tate character, and they way he is willing to go out of his way y help others. And his relationship with Glo is really like so many real relationships are, I love that it is so realistic. There is so much more to say about this book, but I dont know where to start, and I sure dont want to ruin it for anyone, so I’ll stop. And I highly recommend this book to those looking for a sweet buy deeply written story.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Meet Susan

I can’t help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with – a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.

I’ve been writing as long as I can remember – I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.

Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report – a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.

Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material – and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, “Measure of a Man,” in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.

I grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota – it’s where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit – I’m terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.

Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 — and now we live in the beautiful town I’d always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings — and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.

I ‘m delighted you’ve stopped in to visit. My hope is that you’ll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.

I’d love to hear from you! I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments. You can drop me a line via the form on my Contact Page, and, if you’re interested, sign up for my newsletter, a quarterly sneak peek into upcoming releases and projects. Thank you for your interest and support.

God Bless and Happy Reading!

A Matter of Trust by Susan May Warren

A Matter of Trust
by: Susan May Warren

About the book
Champion backcountry snowboarder Gage Watson has left the limelight behind after the death of one of his fans. After being sued for negligence and stripped of his sponsorships, he’s remade his life as a ski patrol in Montana’s rugged mountains, as well as serving on the PEAK Rescue team. But he can’t seem to find his footing–or forget the woman he loved, who betrayed him.

Senator and former attorney Ella Blair spends much of her time in the limelight as the second-youngest senator in the country. But she has a secret–one that cost Gage his career. More than anything, she wants to atone for her betrayal of him in the courtroom and find a way to help him put his career back on track.

When Ella’s brother goes missing on one of Glacier National Park’s most dangerous peaks, Gage and his team are called in for the rescue. But Gage isn’t so sure he wants to help the woman who destroyed his life. More, when she insists on joining the search, he’ll have to keep her safe while finding her reckless brother, a recipe for disaster when a snowstorm hits the mountain.

But old sparks relight as they search for the missing snowboarder–and suddenly, they are faced with emotions neither can deny. But when Ella’s secret is revealed, can they learn to trust each other–even when disaster happens again?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Ski Patrol Gage Watson is on the trail of teens in the wrong dangerous place in Glacier National Park, but when he caught up with them, one of the guys remembered Gage’s past life. Then Ella appeared and emotions and tension started flying all over the place. These two clearly have a dangerous history!

A Matter of Trust is an amazingly written story of dealing with past mistakes, of forgiveness and love, in the mist of tension and emotions. And I love how Susan May Warren incorporates Living the Christian life in the lives of her characters. Though some may take a while to let go and let God have control, it happens at some point in the story. Which is an awesome ministry, guiding readers to a better relationship with the Lord! I really enjoyed this third book in Montana Rescue Series! I ached for Gage because he truly was trying to forget his past and make something of his life, but his past kept coming back to bite him. And Ella, she was confusing because she was so wishy-washy about what she was trying to say. When Ella’s brother was missing, emotions spiked so high and I could feel the tension coming out of there pages!

I’ve never been to Glacier National Park, so it was a real treat for me as I read through the scenes that were so vividly described of the park. As I was reading this book as hi as the temperature is here, I thought myself freezing because I could feel the snow flying out of the pages of the book as well. Detention and that snow just felt so real and I loved it. I could keep going on and on talking about all of the action packed fun throughout this story, but you need to get the book and read it for yourself. It’s just not the same if you don’t read it yourself.

I highly, highly recommend a matter of trust. I received this book from the publisher, Revell. I was not required to write a review, it was my choice to write this positive review, and the opinions in this review are my honest opinion’s only.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Chance of Loving You is a collection of three different stories by three of my favorite authors!  For Love of Money by Terri Blackstock , The Recipe by Candace Calvert and Hook, Line, and Sinker by Susan May Warren, each are about different couples. I loved all three of these romance stories, and I especially liked that I could read each one in a setting. The characters were likeable, and believable and I the plot was interesting enough to keep me reading each story without putting the book down.

I am now looking forward to the next books from each of these amazing authors. I received this book from Tyndale House to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. When I Fall in Love

by Susan May Warren

About this Book

Hawaii was the last place Grace Christiansen ever imagined she’d vacation, much less fall in love. But when her family surprises her with a cooking retreat in paradise, she is pulled—or maybe yanked—away from her predictable, safe life and thrown headfirst into the adventure of a lifetime.

Max Sharpe may make his living on the ice as a pro hockey player, but he feels most at home in the kitchen. Which is why he lives for the three-week culinary vacation he takes each year in Hawaii. Upon being paired with Grace for a cooking competition, Max finds himself drawn to her passion, confidence, and perseverance. But just when Grace dares to dream of a future beyond her hometown, Max pulls away.

Wrestling with personal demons, Max fights against opening his heart to a love he knows he should never hope for. And as his secrets unfold, Grace is torn between the safe path in front of her and what her heart truly desires. If love means sacrificing her ideal happily ever after, Grace’s faith will face its toughest test yet.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I love the Christiansen family and I really enjoyed a visit with them again in Grace’s story. Grace never wanted to leave home, she was perfectly content at home with her cooking ability. Was she ever surprised when here siblings give her a three week culinary vacation to Hawaii. But though at first she thinks she will be alone, she suddenly finds out that her brothers high profile pro hokey player Max will be in Hawaii to watch out for her, which is the last thing Grace wanted.

Susan May Warren has such a way with words, and uses them well when writing awesome books! I love, love this series and this book! I love how she makes the characters seem so very real! I feel as though I know this family personally! And I love the way she introduces Grace and Max to each other. The vivid scenes of Hawaii and the cooking classes, contest, and just everything about the story was just so amazing, I’m still on a high from reading it! I love how Max and Grace are two different personalities, but have so much in common, and Max with his expert side job, or hobby was shocking to me. He just didn’t seem like the type. And I don’t want to keep going on because I will end up telling an important part of the plot, and I don’t want to do that!

If you love romances, this is a must for you! And you want clean, faith base and fun to read added to romance, then you will love When I Fall In Love by Susan May Warren. I received this book from Tyndale House Publishers to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. ABOUT THIS BOOK

A Christensen Family Novel.

Eden Christiansen never imagined her role as her younger brother Owen’s cheerleader would keep her on the sidelines of her own life. Sure, it feels good to be needed, but looking after the reckless NHL rookie leaves little time for Eden to focus on her own career. She dreamed of making a name for herself as a reporter, but is stuck writing obits—and starting to fear she doesn’t have the chops to land a major story. If only someone would step up to mentor Owen . . . but she knows better than to expect help from team veteran and bad-boy enforcer Jace Jacobsen.

Jace has built his career on the infamous reputation of his aggressive behavior—on and off the ice. Now at a crossroads about his future in hockey, that reputation has him trapped. And the guilt-trip he’s getting from Eden Christiansen isn’t making things any easier. But when Owen’s carelessness leads to a career-threatening injury and Eden stumbles upon a story that could be her big break, she and Jace are thrown together . . . and begin to wonder if they belong on the same team after all.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I love, love this book! Everything Susan May Warren writes is just awesome and this book is one of my very favorite books! I didn’t get to read and review the first book in this series, but I am buying it so I can read it! I think this is my first book about a hockey player, and centers around the team and games. It was interesting to get an inside view of the players and what they go through as famous hockey players. When I finished reading It Had to be You, I felt as though I’d had a front row seat with this family and team! I loved all of the vivid details in each scene. Ms. Warren does an amazing job of pulling you right into the story along with her other characters, and I think that was my favorite part in reading! I can just go on and on about this book, but I think you need to read It Had to be You and see for yourself! I just know you will love the story line and the characters just as much as I did. I love the was the characters supported each other, and I appreciate the way Ms. Warren weaves God, and the Christian life into the lives of the characters. She surely shows that God is waiting on us to call out to him, no matter how deep and dark the situation.

I highly recommend It Had to be You, and I encourage you to check out the first book in this series. I know I am! Though it is not necessary, because this is great as a stand alone!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Wow, another Susan May Warren book that I love!! Roxy Price now has all of the glitz and glimmer she needs, but it all comes pouring down on her on that one dreadful Black Friday, and she looses everything. Belgian duke Rolfe Van Horne is now her only hope, but is he who he really says he is?
I was hooked from the very first page of this book! As the story unfolds, Roxy’s life begins to unfold as well, and she endures situations that she doesn’t really understand, mainly because those she is involved with keeps the truth from her. I really like Roxy, but I like Rosie better, because she is more down to earth, and as Rosie’s personality comes out, she’s just a wonderful person inside and out. There is so much that goes on this book, so many twists and turns it is impossible to touch on them all, and I love the way Susan weaves it all together and comes up with a story that will make your head buzz! In a good way! I couldn’t put this book down after I started reading it. I just had to find out what was going to happen next, so I read Duchess in one and a half days! The characters have a solid foundation with strength to carry on no matter the circumstances. Roxy/Rosie was a charm, and the strength and courage she shows is unbelievable. And as with all of Susan May Warren books, she never fails to clearly show God working in the lives of her characters. This is what I love most about her books, and what keeps me wanting to read everything she writes! If you’ve never read any of Susan’s books, you are really missing enjoyable entertainment, and as well as missing the blessing of getting to know how gifted she really is

My Thoughts On  “YOU DON’T KNOW ME”

You Don’t Know Me….by Susan May Warren   for Litfuse Tour

Wow, Susan May Warren just keeps getting better and better with her writing! Another book written by this very talented author that I Love, Love, Love!

Annalise and Nathan have been married for twenty years, but what Nathan doesn’t know is that Annalise has secrets that would turn their happy lives upside down if these secrets leaked out. And little did Annalise know, that was just about to happen. Would she have to leave her family and relocate to stay alive, or would her family have to leave in the middle of the night, never to be seen or heard from again?

I will captured from the first page of this book, and couldn’t put it down until the very last word. The entire time I was reading this book I was thinking, you know, any one I know could be just like Annalise. And I started wondering about new people who have moved into the area, people we know nothing about. Are they part of the WitSec program? It gives you are weird feeling! And Susan writes so many twists and turns into the story she keeps you on the edge of you sets! And of course, you fall in love with the characters in Deep Haven as the story develops and find yourself really upset and rooting for Annalise and her family to be able to stay in Deep Haven and live as the family they are.

And one of the special things for me in this book is the church scene in Chapter 9, where the Lord was speaking to Annalise through their pastor. And wow, what a sermon that was, and it was also something I needed to hear as well. And it is more special knowing that a sermon like this was preached at the author, Susan May Warren’s church.

I highly and strongly recommend this book for everyone to read! I just can’t say enough about this book, but then I don’t want you to know any more about it because it will ruin the fun of reading it.

I was provided a copy of this book from LitFuse Publicity Group. I want to thank Amy for making sure I rec’d this book, even though the publisher didn’t send it in time for the tour. The opinions in this review are mine only.

Lady Anne’s Quest by Susan Page Davis

Lady Anne’s Quest

by Susan Page Davis

ABOUT THIS BOOK

Finding an imposter instead of her uncle means Anne’s quest must continue after The Lady’s Maid is wed, and Dan is determined to protect her from the swindlers now trailing her. But though he’s good at keeping her safe, he’s certain he’ll never be able to convince Anne to be his wife since her sights are set on finding her uncle and returning to England. As her quest becomes even more difficult—and dangerous—Anne finds her feelings for Dan changing. Will she soon be envisioning a new life in America?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This second book in Prairie Dreams Series continues where the first book left off. Lady Anne and Elise has accomplished making it across the Oregon Trail with the Wagon Train, and Elise finds herself married. Yes, that right, Married. And Lady Anne is off to the address given for her Uncle David. Only when she arrives at his house, something is just not right. This man isn’t anything like what she thought her uncle would be like. Thankfully Daniel Adams made the trip with her since Elise couldn’t, and she has him to confide in and lean on. Of course she doesn’t want to do much leaning, since Daniel is one who proposed marriage to her while on the trail.

Another funny and fun, and sometimes mysterious and scary story from Susan Page Davis as Lady Anne continues to search for her uncle and new Earl of Stoneford. Along with the same characters we met in the first book of this series, we continue to meet believable and interesting characters throughout this book, some we like, and some that are just not so loveable. And again, Susan Davis pens a story that will keep you reading because you want to find out what happens and to whom it happens to.

Another book I highly recommend to you history buff out there, and really to anyone who wants a good clean and fun read. You will sure enjoy this continued story of Lady Anne and her cast. So grab a copy to read and enjoy for yourself. And don’t forget to pick up the first book in the Prairie Dreams Series, along with the third book that will be out soon.

Welcome To LitFuse Blog Tour

Susan May Warren ’s Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

About the book: Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Hope finds the hopeless when a storm hits.
It’s Christmas weekend 1949, and despite the threat of a storm, the townspeople of Frost are determined to continue their holiday traditions, if only as a means to forget the war that they had all just suffered through. But the suffering hasn’t ended for Dottie Morgan who lost her only son in the war. She’s preparing to wallow in her isolation for the weekend, when Violet, nearly a spinster at age 29, dares to make a request that will force Dottie to publicly revive the memory of her dead son.

When a storm traps the two women at home with a strange young man who has an unbelievable confession and a neighbor with more to do with Violet’s past than she would like, no one can predict how this Christmas will give them all a second chance.

Read an excerpt here and find out the story behind the novel.

**************************************************************

MY THOUGHTS

Baby It’s Cold Outside…by Susan May Warren

Dottie just didn’t feel like celebrating Christmas because of losing her son Nelson. And she didn’t care that she wasn’t going to let Violet borrow the Star that Nelson made when he was young to go on the tree in front of the Community Center. She just didn’t want anything to do with life or Christmas. But it seems as though God had a different Christmas for Dottie than she was expecting to have. It ends up that four people, were stranded with Dottie in her house because of a snow storm that dumped enough snow in the town of Frost that no one could go anywhere.

Since I am a huge fan of Susan May Warren’s, I jumped at the chance of reading this Christmas book, and what a story it is! With a cast of characters created so original and unique in this town of Frost, Minnesota, Susan gives us a wonderful story of dysfunctional people in this dysfunctional world with issues, imperfection and flaws that only God can intervene and change their lives for the better. I loved this heartwarming story of Dottie, Violet, Jack, Gordy and Arnie and what happens while they are stranded together.

I really don’t want to give anything away to ruin the book for you, so just go out and grab a copy and read it for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

I was provided a copy of this book from LitFuse Publicity Group. I want to thank Amy for making sure I rec’d this book, even though the publisher didn’t send it in time for the tour. The opinions in this review are mine only.

About the book: Heiress

They can buy anything they want—fame, power, beauty, even loyalty.

But they can’t buy love.

The beautiful and wealthy heiress daughters of August Price can buy everything their hearts desire. But what if their desire is to be loved, without an enormous price tag attached? When one sister betrays another for the sake of love, will she find happiness? And what happens when the other sets out across the still untamed frontier to find it—will she discover she’s left it behind in the glamorous world of the New York gilded society? What price will each woman pay for being an heiress?

Set in the opulent world of the Gilded Age, two women discover that being an heiress just might cost them everything they love.

My Thoughts

Esme and her sister Jinx grew up in a very wealthy home during the Gilded Age in the late 1800’s. Esme had a sensitive side and cared for those people who worked, yet didn’t make enough money to support their families. Jinx, on the other hand was like her mother, her dream was to run a wealthy house like her mom with loads of servants, hosting parties with the other wealthy ladies and especially keeping yourself on page 6, the society page of the paper.  Esme’s parents were determined to marry her off to one of wealthier young men, Foster Worth, but she was in love with the family butler’s son, Oliver. Where Jinx would be happy to marry Foster Worth in order to be assured of the wealthy lifestyle she is accustomed to.

Sound interesting enough? Confusing enough? I won’t go into any more of the story because it is more fun to try and figure it out while reading it. It is clear that Esme cares for the poor more than her money, and Jinx wants money and the power that comes with it. So the question is who will marry money, by the name of Foster Worth. And do you wonder how Jinx got her name? There is an answer to this and the other twisted thoughts and questions. You just gotta read the book to find out!

I have read several of Susan May Warren’s books, and really like her writings. This book is no different. I thought it was a very interesting story about life between the extremely rich and the poor. And what would happen if two sisters who grew up in a wealthy home had two entirely different outlooks on life. And through it all, the most important thing, can they live their lives without giving their lives to the Lord and letting Him have first place in their life.

If you enjoy the Gilded Age and historical fiction, you will enjoy this book. Grab a copy and read it! You will be blessed.

I was provided a copy of this book from LitFuse Publicity Group. I want to thank Amy for making sure I rec’d this book, even though the publisher didn’t send it in time for the tour. The opinions in this review are mine only.
