Suffering depression since her husband walked out on Linda Turner and her daughter fifteen years earlier kept Linda Turner to herself, except for her work. The mystery surrounding the disappearance sent rumors soaring throughout the little Texas community that still hadn’t been settled. Clyde Felton returned from jail after spending years for a crime he didn’t commit. In this third book in the Mended Hearts Series, the community of Trapp will be in shock when they find out what really happened to Linda’s husband, and was really behind all of the rumors and crime so long ago that tore this community apart.

I love, love this series! I fell in love with Ms. Denman’s writing and the characters in this series when reading the first book, Jaded. The community was small, the people were friends willing to help out friends, but something happened so many years ago that left a void that they couldn’t seem to get passed. My heart ached for Linda and Clyde because they wanted to do the right thing, and Clyde being a Christian now Clyde clearly wanted the community to accept him again, and accept that he and Linda wanted a relationship. The church people that really shunned these two irritated me to no end! Judging them before they knew the real story. But we all do that at times, don’t we. That’s why I love that Ms. Denman writes this story about second chances. She weaves together the loss of so many years of life, of lost love and betrayal and so many emotions and the tension involved because of the depression Linda suffered, and gives us a story of love, forgiveness, grace and redemption through faith in Jesus.

I very highly recommend Jilted for you to read. But before you read Jilted, You must read Jaded and Justified so you can enjoy the entire hope that is in the series. Reading this series will give you hours of enjoyment and entertainment. I absolutely can’t wait until another series comes out by author Varina Denman!

• About Varina Denman

  An avid reader and blogger, Varina Denman enjoys writing fiction about Christian women and the unique struggles they face. She seems to have a knack for describing small town life, and is currently working on the three-book Mended Heart Series. The first book in the series, Jaded, won the 2013 ACFW Genesis contest for romance.

  Varina attended three Texas universities over a span of five years, majoring in four subjects and earning zero degrees. However, she can now boast sixteen years as a home educator, volunteering in the local cooperative where she has taught numerous subjects including creative writing and literature.

  Even though Varina has spoken at ladies’ retreats and taught women’s Bible classes, she finds the greatest fulfillment facilitating prayer groups. She lives in Burleson, Texas, where she helps with Family Ministry in her home congregation. Varina is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and North Texas Christian Writers.
