MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I’m not sure how I missed the first two books in this series, but I’ll sure make up for it and read them! I love, love Spoon to Be Dead. I have read about all of Dana Minnick’s Love Inspired suspense/thriller books, so I know this one would be amazing, and it didn’t disappoint. I really grew to love the town of Sprocket and Trinidad Jones’ Ice Cream Shop. I found myself routing for the Ice Cream Shop to survive the Oregon winter, especially since this is the first winter the Shop has been open. But Trinidad was not one to sit back and watch her store go to nothing, she actually came up with some pretty interesting ways for the shop to stay in the red for the winter. I did feel sorry for her when her Ex showed up out of the blue. But not to fear, Trinidad has her group of Wives Exes to help her.

Im am giving Spoon to Be Dead by Dana Minnick Five Stars. I hope there are more books to follow this one, and I will be reading books one and two! If you enjoy a clean and fun cozy mystery to spend time with, Spoon to Be Dead is a perfect one for you.

More from Dana

It seems like just yesterday that I was dreaming up decadent freakshake recipes for book one in the Ice Cream Shop mysteries and here we are in book three! It’s Christmas time in Upper Sprocket and there’s a wedding in the works, but most surprising of all is the appearance of Gabe Bigley, the cheating ex of Trinidad and her two besties. You can imagine there is going to be a hefty helping of murder, mayhem and merriment in this next installment in the series. Hope you love book three as much as I do!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I have read several of Dana Mentink’s books and I love them. I was hooked on this one from the first page. I like that about Mentink’s books, she starts them off running and never stops until the end. I was glad to read Jude Dukes story, and this one didn’t disappoint at all.

As always, Mentink’s characters are amazing in telling the story. I feel as if I’m transported into the story with them, though I’m glad I’m not in the middle of the scary parts! The suspense and thrills will have you biting your nails, and with all the many twists and turns, I didn’t know what was happening until the end. If you love suspenseful romance full of thrillers throughout, you will love this one!!

At last! We’ve arrived at the final book in the Desert Justice series! It seems like just yesterday I was finishing book one, about cousin Beckett Duke who was falsely imprisoned. Then we met cowboy Levi and his twin Willow, dog lover Austin, donkey rescuer Nora and FINALLY sheriff Jude Duke gets his story! I am a fan of a hero with some miles under his belt, aren’t you? Could it be because I’ve got more than a few under mine? Ending this series is bittersweet because I am thrilled that the Dukes all received their happy endings, but I’ll miss writing about their adventures in Death Valley. Hope you’ll come along on my next series. (Could be there are bloodhounds in our fictional future!)

God bless!

Giveaway & Tour Yukon Justice by Dana Mentink

Yukon Justice

About the Book

Book: Yukon Justice

Author: Dana Mentink

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release date: October 26, 2021

Yukon Justice (1)

Sabotage on a family ranch…

Newfoundland Ella and her Alaska State Trooper partner is on the case.

When her estranged uncle attempts to sabotage her family’s reindeer ranch, K-9 team assistant Katie Kapowski heads home to help save it—and becomes his target. With their rocky past, Alaska State Trooper Brayden Ford and his furry partner are the last team Katie wants assigned to protect her. But with the ranch under siege, they must work together…or risk falling victim to a killer.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I always enjoy a good romantic suspense and I can always expect a great read when thr book is written by Dana Mentink. Yukon Justice is set in beautiful Alaska on a reindeer farm, no doubt with the disappearance of two of their reindeer. Katie and her aunt are in danger and need to act fast in order to survive. Alaska State Trooper Brayden Ford is on this case along with his K-9 partner Ella. Oh, how much I love Ella! She is my favorite character by far.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I always love books set in Alaska, I think because I love snow and there’s more than an abundance of it in Alaska books. Dana Mentink does another wonderful job writing Yukon Justice. With amazing characters who play their parts well throughout the story, this fast pace read with have you on the edge of your seat through the entire book. This Love Inspired book may be little, but it is chunked full of action that you don’t want to miss. There is a lot going on in this story that will keep your attention and entertain you for several hours. I highly recommend Yukon Justice to anyone loving a good suspense with romance woven through.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

Up on the housetop, click, click, click, down through the chimney with good St. Nick. Does anyone know that line from the famous Christmas song? I’ve been singing it for years but only recently did I learn that the clicking is a real reindeer phenomenon. Those reindeer ankle joints make a clicking sound so they can find the rest of their herd if they are separated in a blizzard. It’s just one of the many things I learned about reindeer while researching to write Yukon Justice. In the novel, Katy has to take over running her aunt’s reindeer ranch and protect it from threats by a dangerous intruder. I had the pleasure of “Zoom” interviewing the owner of the Running Reindeer Ranch in Fairbanks, Alaska! Jane helped me learn all kinds of interesting things about reindeer. How much do you know about these critters? Take my quick three question trivia quiz to test your knowledge!

  1. What’s the difference between caribou and reindeer? They are the same animal but caribou are the wild variety and the domesticated version are called reindeer.
  1. Do males or females grow antlers? Both! Reindeer are a type of deer and the only species where the female grows antlers as well as the males.
  1. How come kids put out carrots for Santa’s reindeer? Good question! Carrots are not, in fact, part of a natural healthy reindeer diet. The animals don’t even have front teeth! A much better treat would be willow or birch leaves, or their favorite food…lichen, which they find by scraping the snow away from the ground with their hooves.

So how did you do? If you want to know more about these amazing creatures, snag yourself a copy of Yukon Justice!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

My Goodness! This book comes in with a bang and never let’s up. Mara wants answers after she receives a one word text from a phone that has to know something about her sister who has been missing for five years. But she is headed head on into a danger she has no idea what or who it is. Or what they want with her.

Dana Mentink writes a story that is sure to have your head spinning by the time you finish reading this book. When I started reading Missing in the Dessert, I didn’t put the book down until it was finished. And I’m telling you I had to find out what this wild mess was that was chasing Mara and trying to kill her. With characters that are believable and realistic, I felt as though I was living the story with Mara and Levi. I felt bad for Levi because Mara’s family blamed him for everything, when it came to their son, and he wasn’t at fault. The story is so twisted that it’s impossible to know who is doing what. It seemed as though this person was everywhere. And the almost ending, I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say I actually had parts of it figured out but not the worst parts. Then for the final ending, it is something that will make the whole story worthwhile. Wow! What a story! This gets a Five Stars from me and I wish I could give it more!

More from Dana

Hello, readers! Boy am I excited! Since the virus-that-not-shall-be-named is being brought under control, I am cautiously venturing out again and our first vacation spot will be a return to Death Valley. Papa Bear and I love the amazing diversity of Death Valley, from the salt flats, to the sand dunes, mountains, and everything in between. Writing this book allowed me to relive the incredible topography, as well as let my mind run loose imagining a cold case that warms up to fiery levels in this ferocious climate. Part of this story revolves around “Camp Town Days” which was inspired by the Encampment Days, an event held in November by a volunteer group called the Death Valley 49ers that aims to capture the pioneer spirit with their wagon rides, parade, poetry readings, a vendor show, and historical talks. I hope you can feel the desert wind in your face and hear the distant howl of the coyote as you dive into the second book in the Death Valley Justice series.

I enjoy so much reading Love Inspired books. They are small and packed full of fun and adventure. And Cold Case Pursuit was no different. This action packed suspense kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. And I had to read it in one setting because I couldn’t put it down. This story has some difficult issues and I feel the author handles them well. The romance and suspense is strong, and of course there is law enforcement of some kind involved. And I enjoy the faith factor in the story as well. If you like a good suspense that you can read pretty fast you will definitely enjoy this one

I love book covers with adorable children on them, don’t you? There’s something so angelic about those wee folks on the covers. I have two bear cubs myself, young adults now, and I love them devotedly. Tell you what though. Sometimes, just occasionally mind you, they were a wee bit naughty. Don’t tell anyone, but one reason I enjoyed writing Cold Case Pursuit so much is that hero Tyler is the single dad of a little girl named Rain who is….er…a handful. Sure, she’s adorable, but she’s prone to disobedience and the occasional tendency to flush things down the toilet. So in addition to the edge of your seat pursuit of a murderous clown killer, there are the shenanigans of a precocious preschooler, a highly trained yet distractible police K-9, and a romance that doesn’t exactly run smoothly. Fun to write? You betcha! I hope you enjoy coming along with me on this True Blue adventure!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Author Dana Mentink continues this series with another nail biting suspense thriller that will keep you reading until you find the answers. And this is just what Dory Winslow is trying to do. Find the answers to what really happened with the tragic boating accident years ago. Digging up secrets that someone definitely doesn’t want her to resurface.

I have read several books by this author, and really liked them all, and this one is no different. The characters do their job as they develop well as the story unfolds. Not that I really liked them all, but for the most part most of these characters will warm their way into your heart. And even though this is the 4th book in this series, I feel it can be read just fine as a stand alone. If you enjoy a good clean thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat for a while, this is the one you want!!

Will their tenuous partnership be enough to shield her when the killer closes in?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Deadly Christmas Pretense is a very good romantic suspense that kept me on my toes. There’s a lot of characters, my favorite being Jingles the dog. Jingles made me laugh quite a bit. Sometimes it was a bit confusing for me, with the twins, and Maggie posing as her twin sister, and who the ex boyfriend belonged to, but as the story unfolds, it becomes more clear. Maggie is in a lot of trouble because of her sister, a rather annoying sister who clearly needs to settle down and stay out of trouble.

Overall this is an enjoyable read, so if you are looking for a good clean romantic suspense, this is a good one to check out. It will give you a few hours of enjoyment!

I just love Christmas, don’t you? In our area we have a lovely holiday train. It’s an old steam type train which is decked out in lights for festive holiday tours. I was so thrilled that this cover features just such a train. Of course, in the novel the train is the scene of hair raising danger! Maggie, our heroine in this novel, is a cook. She serves up some mouth watering dishes (when she’s not dodging a killer.) I thought perhaps you might enjoy a Mentink holiday family recipe! God bless you as we enter this holiday season!

We’re kicking off a new cowboy series, but this one is going to take you for a wild ride! Set on a ranch that’s sandwiched between the sea and the hills required me to do some on site research of course! I spent quite a while in this gorgeous area of California, looking for cattle. (You can see the zany results in my video.) I found the cattle, and also the perfect setting for this first book. It’s a creepy one, I’ll warn you, as hero Mitch Whitehorse comes face to face with the serial killer brother he sent to prison….and his desperate ex sister in law. Saddle up and enjoy the story! God bless!

My Thoughts On This Book

Shelby Arroyo is only doing her job of assessing mineral rights in a Gold County mine, but someone isn’t happy with Shelby. Will they go as far as murder to stop her? And after pulling the beautiful girl from a ravine, rancher Barrett Thorn stays by her side as trouble keep coming her way. But the attraction forming between them just can’t be because Shelby family is responsible for th death if Barrett’s wife.

Cowboy Christmas Guardian is full of tension coming from many directions. There is a strong attraction between Barrett and Shelby, Barrett hates Shelby’s uncle and cousin, Barrett’s brothers are not happy with the time Barret and Shelby are spending together, and Shelby is in the middle of it all. And it doesn’t help that  Barrett’s mom welcomes Shelby into their home and family.

I really felt bad for Shelby, and feared for her life with everything going on to stop her from accessing the mine. And I loved the way Barrett came to her rescue every time something happened. Author Dana Mentink does a great job weaving all of the hurts, tension, frustrations and evil doings together and finishing a story that shows forgiveness, grace, love and acceptance. And I don’t want to elaborate on the story more because it would give away too much! I loved this story and I highly recommend it for a few hours of entertainment. And I love ‘Love Inspired’ books, because even though they are shorter stories, they are a wonderful read. Just as Cowboy Christmas Guardian. And I appreciate the was Ms Mentink weaves the Christian life into her characters! Go grab a copy of this book! You will not be disappointed!

A  copy of Cowboy Christmas Guardian was provided by Celebration Lit Tours and the author for me to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions in this review are mine only.

Guest Post from Dana Mentink

Howdy, readers! I am thrilled to be bringing you this four book Gold Country Cowboys series that takes place in an area near and dear to my heart! My family and I have enjoyed many adventures in this amazing area, from exploring gold mines, to climbing through caverns, and soaking in the incredible history. As a matter of fact, we recently enjoyed a train trip on the historic V and T Railroad which took us past abandoned mines and even some active ones where people are engaged in modern day treasure hunting. California’s Gold Country is a fascinating place filled with secret treasures. I hope you will enjoy some wild adventures with four cowboy brothers who have some secrets of their own. God bless you all!
