This wonderful collection has Christmas carols, poems and stories that will warm your heart as you read them yourself or to your children. Its really nice to see a book with traditional Christmas songs for little ones to learn. And along with the carols and stories, the illustrations in this book are awesome, and very festive. About this book

Will Annie find acceptance in the Amish community she left behind?Annie Weaver always planned to return home, but the 20-year old RN has lived in Philadelphia for three years now. As her time of rumschpringe is about to come to an abrupt end, bringing for Annie an overwhelming sense of loneliness. She returns home and finds herself face-to-face with a budding romance with an Amish farmer and Annie has several important choices to make.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Annie Weave’s rumspringa comes to an end when she is needed at home to take care of her dad. Having a nursing degree, and working in a hospital gives her the knowledge she needs to take very good care of her dad. But then there is Samuel, who has been taking care of the medical conditions for the people in their little Amish community, so Annie doesn’t want him to know she is probably more qualified that he is. Does Samuel realize that Annie has grown up while away? Or is he still looking at her to be the young person she was when she left home?
I love Amish, and I love Christmas stories, and I love Vannetta Chapman, so I knew this book had to be awesome! And it was every bit as awesome as I thought it would be. Not only was the holiday’s near, the Weaver family has their normal life to take care of, as well as their dad not able to help. As the family and community pulls together to take care of the Weaver household, Samuel and Annie have their difficulties. And with all of these problems in this Amish house, this book was one I couldn’t put down. I had to know what would happen to Annie’s dad, if Annie would reveal to Samuel her medical knowledge, and I certainly wanted to know how the relationship between Annie and Samuel would go. So I pretty much read this book in one setting, reading much of the night!
I just know you will love this Weaver Amish family and everything that is involved in taking care of them. I really encourage you to pick up a copy of this heartwarming Christmas book for a few hours of joyful entertainment!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Upon her grandmother’s death, Izzy Fontaine finds herself in possession of a Wild Goose Chase pattern quilt that supposedly leads to a great treasure.

Of course, once the rest of the family finds out about the “treasure map,” they’re determined to have a go at the treasure themselves. And, if that weren’t enough, Max Logan, a local museum curator, contacts Izzy and says that Grandma Isabella promised him the quilt.

What is it about this quilt that makes everyone want it? Is Izzy on a wild goose chase of her own, or a journey that will lead her to the treasure her grandmother intended?

My Thoughts on this Book

A Wild Goose Chase Christmas is a really good story about the ups and downs of family life. I really like the Grandmother in this story, though she has passed away, she leaves something for the family that will be with them forever. Being one of Abingdon’s Quilts of Love Series, one of the special things the grandmother left her family was a quilt with lots of memories that will help heal the family difficult situations, and bring them close together. Each scrap of the quilt has a special place in a family member’s heart.

During the holidays, we think of family and love, and this book is just that. Though its a little different, because the love didn’t come easy, but as the gifts from grandmother appear, and the memories flow throughout the family, hearts heal. This is a wonderful book to read anytime, but especially during the Holiday Season. I always enjoy reading good holiday stories, and this one is a really good one! I highly recommend it for a great enjoyable read!

About Jennifer AlLee

A Word from Jennifer:

As I look back on my life, it’s interesting to see where God’s taken me, and where I took myself that God pulled me out of. I finally got back to writing, the dream of my heart. Since 1996, I’ve published numerous short stories, devotions and plays. I’ve also been active in church drama ministries, another passion of mine. My first novel, The Love of His Brother (November 2007, Five Star Publishers), was followed by The Pastor’s Wife (February 2010, Abingdon Press) and The Mother Road (April 2012). A Wild Goose Chase Christmas is book two in the new Quilts of Love series.

Besides being a writer, I am a wife and mom. Living in Las Vegas, Nevada, my family has learned how to enjoy the fabulous buffets here without severely impacting our waistlines. God is good!
