About Me!

I know it has taken me long enough to update this page. Not knowing so much about WordPress I really didn’t know what to do with it, that is until I found some emails that had been sent months ago from some authors. Talk about embarrassing! So I decided to add a page and post some different things!

My name is Joy and I have been married to James for longer than I can believe! We have one son, Shannon whom God has raised up to be a son we are very blessed with. And of course there is Patches, my Chihuahua that ended up being James’ and Sasha, our cat. And she’s just a cat, but we love her more than ever. And of course both Patches and Sasha both think they are in control and rule the house. Patches usually gives in and goes to the basement and lets Sasha have it all! But they love each other!

I am a avid book reader. I love, love, love reading Christian fiction. Though I read other fiction from time to time, I really enjoy Christian fiction because I don’t have to worry about what words I’m gonna find or other things I really don’t care to read about. Besides, have you read any Christian fiction lately? There are awesome books out there written by awesome authors. Thats why I have this blog.

I read and review books for many individual authors, publishers and a lot of online media publicity companies that work with authors to publicize their books. I read the books, then post reviews on my blog and on online bookstores such as Amazon, Goodreads, CBD, Books A Million, and you know the rest.

My passion is to get the word out about Christian books, both fiction and non-fiction. There are so many authors out there, and so many new authors appearing on the scene that its difficult to keep up with unless you have a source to go to. I want to be one of those sources, and I will continue to add buttonbs on my blog of other wonderful book review and author blogs.

So grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and browse around my blog a bit to see what’s happening with Christian Books.

I’m contacting you today to see if you would be interested in participating in Deanne Blackhurst’s virtual book tour for her new e-book, “Sleight of Hand,” which is a speculative fiction novel.
When Daniel, a fifty-five-year-old con man, suffers a heart attack and dies, he meets his guardian angel, Jonah, on the other side. Jonah shows him to a beautiful cabin and tells him this will be his eternal home. Daniel is sure he was able to scam his way into heaven—he scammed everyone on earth, so why not heaven too? But as he spends time in his cabin, all alone, he realizes that he’s actually in a wasteland. Jonah presents him with a way to escape, but will Daniel want to pay the price for his freedom?
“Sleight of Hand” is a 264-page e-book available in the following formats: Kindle, PDF, online html, online Javascript, epub, rtf, lrf, palm doc, and plain text. If you would like to participate in the tour, just let me know your preferred format. In addition, Deanne has arranged a discount code for your blog readers so they can receive it for $1.99.

Hello. Aleshia Robinson here. I retrieved your name from Christian Fiction Blog Alliance website. I just finished writing my edgy Christian fiction work, Alcatraz The Lost Pearl, and was wondering if you would like a review copy?
    Here is the synopsis:
Fifteen year old Alcatraz is being chased. Born and raised in a loving family, she suddenly finds herself fending for her life on the streets of Los Angeles. Consumed with anger, hurt and confusion, Alcatraz turns to the spiritual realm to find life’s answers. While experimenting with pagan spells, Buddhist chants, and yoga sutras, she continually encounters a spirit who claims He is God. The Truth she learns from this spiritual quest introduces her to the unexpected world of divine healing, acceptance and unconditional love.
If you are interested in reviewing this book I can email over the Kindle edition or snail mail you a paperback copy. I am also open to author interviews and guest posts if that is more convenient for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Joy,

I really like your bio and understand about how four legged children rule! My four legged son, Symon, went to heaven last year. He was an angel straight from God 😉

Do you ever read non-fiction? I would love to gift you a paperback copy of my book and have you review it.

    Hello, Joy,
My post-Revolutionary War suspense, Laurel, was released this week by Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas. Would love to hear your comments about it. Here’s a short synopsis –
Searching for their toddler and her Cherokee aunt kidnapped by slavers, Lilyan and Nicholas Xanthakos trek from their North Carolina vineyard, through the South Carolina backcountry to Charleston, a tinderbox of post-Revolutionary War passions. There Lilyan, a former Patriot spy, faces a grand jury for murdering a British officer during the war. Once free, they follow Laurel’s trail by sea and are shipwrecked on an Outer Banks island. Will they be reunited or is Laurel lost to them forever?

The prequel to Laurel, The Chamomile, won the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance Okra Pick. The third novel about Lilyan, entitled Cassia, will be released this September.
Thanks so much for considering my request.

Hi Joy, I appreciate your love of books and your blog!
I know you’ve got a ton of books to review, but if you’re open to adding one more to your stack, readers are having a lot of fun with my YA/Suspense series. (Christian fiction). I’m getting comments like,
“Stayed up all night to finish it!”
    “Nonstop action!”
    “This book was SO good!”
I just finished the third book in the series, but I’d be happy to start you at the beginning, if you prefer. I can send ebooks or print copies (except for my new release which goes live next week; the print copy isn’t available yet, but will be soon.) Here are links so you can check them out to see if they’re a good fit for you. Book One: PULSE http://amzn.to/1JYR0Qg

Thank you, Joy, for your love of reading and your willingness to help Christian authors by reviewing. It reminds me of how the Body of Christ “fits” together. As an author, where would I be without sisters like you? How would I get the word out there? As a reader, what if there were no “clean” books out there with Christian values?

Your service to the Kingdom is invaluable, and I wanted to tell you that you are appreciated 🙂 Thank you for participating in my Celebrate Lit tour. Hugs and Blessings 🙂

p.s. I have thirty-four titles and would be happy to send you any that you’d like to read, just let me know.

    Hello Joy:
My name is Claudia and my website is rhemalogy.com.
Am in a bit of a pickle and came across your fantastic book review and movie review. On my website, I usually do both Christian book and movie reviews. However, my husband, Bobbie, who has special needs has been very sick these past couple of months and I find myself somewhat behind. When I saw that you’d done both a book and movie review on What if Jesus Had Never Been Born. It was an answer to my prayers! I would, of course, point my readers to your site. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
