MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Doctoroo and the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians by Rachel B. Wellner is another adorable story from the Doctoroo series. This Time, the gang flies to the beautiful island of Hawaii. They are excited to land near Festival grands for a big important festival. The gang enjoys watching the dancers practice until they all start feeling bad and look like Red Hot Hawaiians. Doctoroo searches for answers as to what is wrong, bit finds nothing, so she keeps searching. Can you guess what is wrong?

I love, love this special book and the valuable lessons it teaches children in such a clever way. Doctoroo and her characters are so cute and so much fun to read about. I like the dancers as well, especially the pigs with the very red cheeks. They are all just so cute and a bundle of fun.

Irina Dringova does a fabulous job with the illustrations. With the vibrant colors and the cutest and some of the most adorable characters I’ve seen in a children’s book, your child is sure to love this book and want it read to them over and over. I think children will also be able to look at the illustrations and tell the story themselves after hearing it several times. I definitely think Doctoroo and the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians by Rachel B. Wellner should be in every child’s library, as well as each elementary school and daycare library and elementary classrooms.

GUEST POST FROM RACHEL WELLNER

Teaching kids about basic health

By Rachel Wellner, MD

Doctoroo and Friends is a series dedicated to teaching kids from pre-school to grade school about basic health issues and maintenance.  I use the format of a mystery followed by a global trip Doctoroo and friends take to solve that mystery to enhance the excitement of “catching the culprit” and teaching kids the basic health lesson.  My first two books are about good nutrition and hand hygiene respectively and a third book which I’m working on now, is about sun protection.

What is the hardest part for you about the book industry? I’m finding that just getting the book out there and sharing Doctoroo and friends with the world is challenging, but the books are starting to gain traction, which warms my heart.  I believe in these adorable, noble characters and hope that everyone can reap the benefits of reading about them.

I just want you to love Doctoroo as much as I do, and I think you will once you read the books.  She’s an international, emblematic female, and a soldier for health.  I’m excited to be on your blog!
