Stay with Me (A Misty River Romance #1) By Becky Wade Christian Contemporary Romance Hardcover, Paperback & ebook, 368 Pages May 5th 2020 by Bethany House Publishers

My Rating of this book

5 Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if I could give it more, I sure would. It deserves many more stars!

Loving her is a risk he can’t afford . . . and can’t resist.

When acclaimed Bible study author Genevieve Woodward receives an anonymous letter referencing her parents’ past, she returns to her hometown in the Blue Ridge mountains to chase down her family’s secret. However, it’s Genevieve’s own secret that catches up to her when Sam Turner, owner of an historic farm, uncovers the source of shame she’s worked so hard to hide.

Sam has embraced his sorrow, his isolation, and his identity as an outsider. He’s spent years carving out both career success and peace of mind. The last thing he wants is to rent the cottage on his property to a woman whose struggles stir his worst failure back to life. Yet, can he bear to turn her away right when she needs him most?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Wow!! Becky Wade’s books just keep getting better and better. Genevieve Woodward has life altogether, as a very successful Bible Study author, she is famous, sought after, people love her. Her loving family, her mom, dad and sister, the perfect family in everyone’s eyes. But with one note, it all comes crashing down. How would Genevieve ever find the peace of God she has been writing about again?

This book is so very good, I don’t know where to start! The characters are so well crafted, and well developed they actually began to feel like part of my family. So realistic throughout the entire book that it makes the story so real. My heart was captured from the very first page. I wanted to read it slowly in order to grasp every word, but yet I didn’t want to put the book down because I couldn’t stop reading Genevieve and Sam’s story. I love Genevieve because she has the personality that you just have to love. Yet she has flaws just like the rest of us. And I love Sam, he is a man of few words, but what he says is profound and sticks with you. The emotions between these two had me in tears a lot of the time I was reading this book, yet the humor between them had me laughing much of the time. And there was just enough mystery there to balance the entire story out to make it one of the best stories I have read.

I also love the way author Becky Wade weaves the Christian life into the lives of her characters. But shows their flaws just as most people have. And she does it in such a subtle way. This story is truly one of being honest about your failures, letting go, love, forgiveness, grace, hope and second chances. I’d you enjoy Contemporary Romance that is good, clean and oh so enjoyable and entertaining, Stay With Me is one you definitely do not want to miss. I highly recommend this sweet story to everyone! I have only touched the surface of what this story is about. You have to read it for yourself. This book well deserves many more than 5 stars!!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I love Becky Wade books! This is such a sweet romance, pretty predictable, but that’s ok. And with a bit of mystery added in, which wasnt so predictable, it keeps you turning those pages to find out what in the world is going on. Zander is a sweetheart, and can you believe how long he waited for Britt? That tell me exactly what kind of man he is, and what kind of his and he will be. Britt on the other hand, I thought was a bit of a brat at times. And I had a hard time trying to like her at times. But there is always one character that gets under my skin in a book, and that’s one of the things that makes the book so great.

The book cover is beautiful, I would definitely choose this book by its cover, even if I didn’t know the author! Again, Becky Wade writes an absolutely wonderful book for her readers to read! A week after I finish reading Sweet On You and I am still thinking about the characters and their story. I’ve said enough, the rest you will need to find out when you read this amazing book! And you can already tell, I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a good clean read. You will no be disappointed!

 A Love Like Ours

A Love Like Ours (Bethany House, May 2015)

Former Marine Jake Porter has far deeper scars than the one that marks his face. He struggles with symptoms of PTSD, lives a solitary life, and avoids relationships.

When Lyndie James, Jake’s childhood best friend, lands back in Holley, Texas, Jake cautiously hires her to exercise his Thoroughbreds. Lyndie is tender-hearted, fiercely determined, and afraid of nothing, just like she was as a child. Jake pairs her with Silver Leaf, a horse full of promise but lacking in results, hoping she can solve the mystery of the stallion’s reluctance to run.

Though Jake and Lyndie have grown into very different adults, the bond that existed during their childhood still ties them together. Against Jake’s will, Lyndie’s sparkling, optimistic personality begins to tear down the walls he’s built around his heart. A glimmer of the hope he’d thought he’d lost returns, but fears and regrets still plague him. Will Jake ever be able to love Lyndie like she deserves, or is his heart too shattered to mend?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Life has turned Jake Porter into a hard, stubborn, man that would do anything or say anything to keep those walls high around him and let no one in. Then Jake’s best childhood friend Lyndie James moves back to Texas after two decades in California. Jake’s goal is to stay away from Lyndie. But as life happens, Jake’s goals of keeping Lyndie away didn’t happen. This book does a fantastic job of bringing to surface PTSD, along with a life that has totally turned his back on God.

A Love Like Ours is another winner by author Becky Wade! I really loved the entire storyline. I’ve never been around race horses, and I was amazed at the detailed descriptions of what happens behind the scenes in the life of someone that has been through so much in life, that he doesn’t deserve to be happy. Lyndie is a special young lady, with patience, and a love for helping anyone in need. And it was as if God put Lyndie in Jake’s life to break those barriers down so he could live again. I just can’t say enough about this book! So I won’t say any more, and I encourage you to pick up a copy of this wonderful book.

Meant to Be Mine

by Becky Wade

Meant to be Mine

Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school–irresistible. When their paths cross again after college–still irresistible. This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.

The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia’s ready to be Ty’s wife, but Ty’s not ready to be her husband. He’s a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he’s long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he’s known since childhood.

Five and a half years pass. Celia’s buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty’s achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn’t forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.

How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia’s trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Wow, I really loved Ty and Celia’s story, though its a different love story that most of the books I’ve read. Ty and Celia married, but they didn’t start of as the happily married couple that is mostly the tradition. But neither of them sought out divorce, which isn’t really typical in todays world. Even though they had plenty of tough times and difficult situations, I enjoyed following these characters, and finally, it started happening for them. I loved all of the wonderful and unique characters Becky Wade created to make this story loveable and believable for us readers. Though I wanted to just shake this couple at times, as I kept reading I realized that God was working in all of these situations to bring Celia and Ty closer to Him. And though this is fiction, it is a blessing to know that God will work in the lives of His children to bring them closer to His love.

This is a really fun and enjoyable book, and anyone that loves a good clean book will thoroughly enjoy Meant to Be Mine. I received this book from Litfuse to read and review. The last thing she has the patience or the sanity to deal with? Her father’s Thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives its manager, Bo Porter, six months to close the place down.

Bo knows he ought to resent the woman who’s determined to take from him the only job he ever wanted. But instead of anger, Meg evokes within him a profound desire to protect. The more time he spends with her, the more he longs to overcome every obstacle that separates them and earn her love.

Just when Meg realizes she can no longer deny the depth of her feelings for Bo, their fragile bond is broken by a force from Meg’s past. Can their relationship–and their belief that God can work through every circumstance–survive?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Bo is just your regular cowboy that runs a horse ranch, but when the owner passes away, he is faced with the daughter, which is now the new owner, closing the ranch and losing everything he has worked for for year.

Meg Cole may now be the heir of her dads estate and owning 51% of the family oil business, but this is not what she wants to do with her life. She hates the mansion she grew up in, and she does not want to run the oil business.

Then Meg meets Bo.

Becky Wade is a new gifted author that is now on my favorite author list! This is such an enjoyable story. The characters are adorable and so realistic, I love the way Meg enjoyed helping those in need. And I found it so special and sweet that, though Meg has problems with stress, when she is around Bo, her stress disappears. Even just being around him, hearing his voice relieves her stress. But though Bo was very attracted to Meg, he knew he was not worthy of her, that she deserved someone a lot better than someone like him.

I also enjoyed the vivid description of the different horses and what it takes to run the ranch. Becky Wade weaves together a heartwarming story that will go the extra mile to entertain you as you read it’s pages.

ABOUT THE BOOK

A Sensational CBA Debut in Contemporary Romance!

This summer author Becky Wade makes her CBA debut with a fun — and funny — contemporary romance. Amidst the light-hearted banter and laugh-out-loud moments is a compelling spiritual journey of one woman’s choice to listen to God and wait on him. Filled with humor and authentic romance, My Stubborn Heart is shaping up to be the hit of the summer.

Kate Donovan is burned out on work, worn down by her dating relationships, and in need of an adventure. When Kate’s grandmother asks Kate to accompany her to Redbud, Pennsylvania, to restore the grand old house she grew up in, Kate jumps at the chance.

Yet, she discovers a different kind of project upon meeting the man hired to renovate the house. ;Matt Jarreau is attractive and clearly wounded — hiding from people, from God, and from his past. Kate can’t help but set her stubborn heart on bringing him out of the dark and back into the light… whether he likes it or not.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is a wonderful and enjoyable Contempory fiction that I thoroughly enjoyed. Becky Wade pens a story with characters that are so real and loveable that you will want them as your own family! I love Kate and her determination to make Matt talk to her. And Matt was just more adorable each time he tried to brush Kate off. And Matt had to let Kate’s witty attitude rub off on him, even though he tried hard not too, she really didn’t give him a choice in the matter.  I especially enjoyed seeing Matt’s stubborn attitude in not wanting to talk to Kate while painting her room. That scene as well as others was very comical!

Becky Wade deals with a lot of issues her, including lonely and bitterness. These things are very difficult to overcome, and I appreciate the way Becky merges real life with living that life trusting God. As I say with about all of the Christian fiction I write, even though it’s fiction, the principles are real, and can be used in real life situations.

I highly recommend this book to anyone liking fiction. You will not be disappointed in what you will find between the covers of this book!

About the book:
My Stubborn Heart

| Kate Donovan is burned out on work, worn down by her dating relationships, and in need of an adventure. When her grandmother asks her to accompany her to Redbud, Pennsylvania, to restore the grand old house she grew up in, Kate jumps at the chance.
Upon her arrival in Redbud, Kate meets Matt Jarreau, the man hired to renovate the house. Kate can’t help being attracted to him, drawn by both his good looks and something else she can’t quite put her finger on. He’s clearly wounded–hiding from people, from God, and from his past. Yet Kate sets her stubborn heart on bringing him out of the dark and back into the light…whether he likes it or not.
When the stilted, uncomfortable interactions between Kate and Matt slowly shift into something more, is God finally answering the longing of her heart? Or will Kate be required to give up more than she ever dreamed?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

My heart ached for Matt from the beginning because of the hurt he had been through. He had distanced himself from everyone so much he didn’t even want to have a conversation with anyone. But Kate didn’t give him much of a choice when she was helping Matt paint her room. I was hooked from this scene forward, and couldn’t put this book down. I wanted to find out what was gonna happen to these two. I actually laughed through this entire scene because Matt was showing just how Stubborn he was.

And the rest of the book was just as good. I love Kate’s character, her witty attitude and a personality that was difficult not to fall for. And without even knowing it, Matt’s grumpiness made him even more adorable and loveable.

Becky Wade has witten a wonderful contempory romance that will take you away on a journey you will never forget. Enough said about the book because I just don’t like giving away spoilers. You just need to grab the book and read it for yourself. You will NOT be disappointed.

I will surely be looking for more books by Becky Wade. She is now a new favorite author and My Stubborn Heart is on my list of Favorite Books…that I will of course be keeping for myself.

About Becky:

Litfuse

During her childhood in California, Becky frequently produced homemade plays starring her sisters, friends, and cousins. These plays almost always featured a heroine, a prince, and a love story with a happy ending. She’s been a fan of all things romantic ever since.

Becky and her husband lived overseas in the Caribbean and Australia before settling in Dallas, Texas. It was during her years abroad that Becky’s passion for reading turned into a passion for writing. She published three historical romances with Avon Books, then put her career on hold for several years to care for her kids, then recently returned to writing sheerly for the love of it. She felt led to move to the genre of contemporary

Christian romance and couldn’t be more thrilled with it.
These days Becky can be found failing but trying to keep up with her housework, sweating at the gym, carting her kids around town, playing tennis, hunched over her computer, eating chocolate, or collapsed on the sofa watching TV with her husband.
