MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
The Secret Garden of Yanagi is a unique story, a ghost story mixed with suspense, that I found unusual, yet it is a story I enjoyed immensely. After her mother’s death, Mari travels to Kyoto, Japan for a client to take photographs of Yanagi Inn. Being there was a bit haunting for Mari. As she begins to explore the inn and its surrounding, she finds a secret garden that is interesting and intriguing. Not quite sure what is happening, Mari hears noises she is not sure about, and finds interesting things that leads to her own heritage.
With beautiful characters and a story that is remarkably written, this book will sure keep you entertained for a while. This is a book I found hard to put down, with the secrets and haunting feelings, I had to find out what Mari was finding, and the secrets surrounding this garden and inn. Not reading the classic The Secret Garden of Yanagi, I couldn’t compare the two, but I’m glad I had the chance to read this retelling of this story. If you love suspense stories, this one is for you. I’m giving it Five Stars.
