The Exciting Conclusion to Lauraine Snelling’s WILD WEST WIND series8

As winter settles over the Engstrom ranch, Cassie Lockwood has a lot on her mind. The way Lucas Engstrom smiles at her should set her heart to tripping. But it doesn’t. Shouldn’t there be some attraction to him if they are going to be married? His vow to make her love him doesn’t seem to be working, no matter how considerate and charming he is. And then there’s the look she caught him sending Betsy Hudson at church one Sunday. Are she and Lucas drifting apart?

During a short trip away, Cassie realizes she must make other plans for her future. But what will the Engstroms say when she announces plans to leave the ranch and join a Wild West show?

She’s Come This Far…. Must She Turn Back Now?
After fleeing North Dakota and the now defunct Wild West Show, Cassie Lockwood and her companions have finally found the hidden valley in South Dakota where her father had dreamed of putting down roots. But to her dismay, she discovers a ranch already built on her land.

Cassie’s arrival surprises Mavis Engstrom and forces her to reveal secrets she’s kept hidden for years. Her son Ransom is suspicious of Cassie and questions the validity of her claim to the valley. But younger son Lucas decides from the start that he is in love with her and wants to marry her.

Will Cassie be able to build a home on the Bar E Ranch and fulfill her father’s dream of raising horses, or will she be forced to return to the itinerant life of her past?

Ms. Snelling knows her craft…A must read book!!!

Fresh Fiction

Of the Engstrom family only Mavis, the matriarch, knew of Cassie Lockwood’s part ownership of the Bar E Ranch valley she and her sons own and cultivate. Her sons, Ransom and Lucas, aren’t handling the news well. Ransom’s resorted to bad manners and anger in his dealings with Cassie, while Lucas has decided he’s in love with the blond beauty and is set on marrying her. Cassie’s trying to find a home; having spent her whole life traveling with a Wild West show, she has never had one before. But she’s also intent on providing for her ‘family’: the two men, Indian woman, dogs, and livestock that made the trip to South Dakota with her. It’s only through Mavis’ gentle reminding to turn to God that Cassie finally accepts and trusts in Him to provide for her needs. This second book in the ‘Wild West Wind’ series is a good look at turning to God even in the most difficult situations.

CFBA Tour…Valley of Dreams by Lauraine Snelling

This week, theChristian Fiction Blog Allianceis introducingValley of DreamsBethany House (November 1, 2011)byLauraine SnellingABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Award-winning and best selling author Lauraine Snelling began living her dream to be a writer with her first published book for young adult readers, Tragedy on the Toutle, in 1982. She has since continued writing more horse books for young girls, adding historical and contemporary fiction and nonfiction for adults and young readers to her repertoire. All told, she has up to sixty books published.

Shown in her contemporary romances and women’s fiction, a hallmark of Lauraine’s style is writing about real issues of forgiveness, loss, domestic violence, and cancer within a compelling story. Her work has been translated into Norwegian, Danish, and German, and she has won the Silver Angel Award for An Untamed Land and a Romance Writers of America Golden Heart for Song of Laughter.

As a most sought after speaker, Lauraine encourages others to find their gifts and live their lives with humor and joy. Her readers clamor for more books more often, and Lauraine would like to comply … if only her paintbrushes and easel didn’t call quite so loudly.

Lauraine and her husband, Wayne, have two grown sons, and live in the Tehachapi Mountains with a cockatiel named Bidley, and a watchdog Basset named Winston. They love to travel, most especially in their forty-foot motor coach, which they affectionately deem “a work in progress”.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Addy Lockwood’s mother died when she was little, so Addy traveled with her father’s Wild West Show and became an amazingly skillful trick rider, likened by some to the famous Annie Oakley. When her father died, she continued to work with the show, having nowhere else to go.

Now Addy has discovered that “Uncle” Jason, the show’s manager, has driven the show into debt, and he’s absconded with what little money was left. Devastated, Addy decides to try to find the hidden valley where here father had dreamed of putting down roots. She has only one clue. She needs to find three huge stones that look like fingers raised in a giant hand. With Chief, a Sioux Indian who’s been with the show for twenty years, and Micah, the head wrangler, she leaves both the show and a bundle of heartache behind and begins a wild and daring adventure.
