About Afloat:Who will you trust when dark waters rise?

Eagle’s Talon is an architectural marvel-shining residential units afloat in a protected cove of the gorgeous Rondeau River. The project is nearly complete, partially occupied, and ready to make investors rich when a sinkhole gives way. Then torrential rains and a flood leave a ragged collection of builders, investors, and residents stranded in one floating building, cut off from the rest of the world.
They’re bitterly divided over what to do next.
Architect Vance Nolan insists they should sit tight and wait for rescue. Developer Tony Dean wants to strike out into the darkness. And single mom Danielle Clement, desperate to protect her young son, Simeon, struggles to hold their motley band together.
Power failure, a pall of unnatural daytime darkness, explosions in the distance, then a murder ratchet tensions to a boiling point. But Danielle’s young son, Simeon, has spotted something strange underwater-beautiful, shifting lights in the dark water below.
In this watery world where everyone’s secrets will eventually come to light, salvation may mean more than just getting out alive.

Another stunning exploration of the human spirit and supernatural possibilities from best-selling author Erin Healy.Purchase a copy: http://ow.ly/liNmq

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is a really good suspense, and Erin Healy has a way of weaving suspense along with a little supernatural to take the story to a different level. The characters were supportive with one another, enjoyable and played their part well in the story. Where this is not my favorite genre, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. And with the suspense and many twists and turns throughout the book, it was difficult to put down. And the cover is what drew me into the story, because with one look, you know something exciting is going to happen!

I encourage you to pick up a copy of Afloat if you enjoy suspense, or stories with a supernatural theme. You will enjoy this one!

ABOUT THE BOOK

What if praying became a curse instead of a blessing?

Former Army Ranger Jagger Baird thought he had his hands full with the Tribe—the band of immortal vigilantes fighting to regain God’s grace by killing those opposed to Him. But that was before he encountered the ruthless group of immortals called the Clan. The Clan is after a prize that would give them unimaginable power—a piece of the Ten Commandments known as the Judgment Stone.

Those who touch the Stone can see into the spiritual world: angelic warriors, treacherous demons, and the blue threads of light that signal the presence of believers in communion with God.

By following the blue beam radiating from those closest to God, the Clan plans to locate His most passionate followers and destroy them.

Jagger quickly realizes his high-tech gadgetry and training are no match for these merciless immortals. But how can he defeat an enemy who hunts believers through their prayers . . . and won’t stop until they’ve annihilated all those close to Him?

In this high-action thriller, best-selling author Robert Liparulo examines the raging battle between good and evil on earth . . . and beyond.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

A Heartbeat Away is another book in the Quilts of Love Series from Abingdon Press. I really enjoyed the Civil War era setting and the nurses and medical attention given to them so vividly detailed in the story. The quilt in this story was told as Beth sew the quilt squares together given to her my her mom, and shes making this quilt as the fighting was going on among them. Beth was comforted many times through the putting together of this quilt. A wonderful heartwarming story from S. Dionne Moore and I want to encourage you to pick up a copy to read for yourself!

About The Offering:From bestselling author Angela Hunt, the heart-wrenching story of a young mother who unknowingly gave away her own child after serving as a surrogate for a childless couple.

After growing up as an only child, Amanda Lisandra wants a big family. But since she and her soldier husband can’t afford to have more children right away, Mandy decides to earn money as a gestational carrier for a childless couple. She loves being pregnant, and while carrying the child she dreams of having her own son and maybe another daughter. . .
Just when the nearly perfect pregnancy is about to conclude, unexpected tragedy enters Mandy’s world and leaves her reeling. Devastated by grief, she surrenders the child she was carrying and struggles to regain her emotional equilibrium.
Two years later she studies a photograph of the baby she bore and wonders if the unthinkable has happened—could she have inadvertently given away her own biological child? Over the next few months Mandy struggles to decide between the desires of her grief-stricken heart and what’s best for the little boy she has never known.Purchase a copy: http://ow.ly/l6HiW

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Would being a surrogate mother be worthwhile, considering what a woman has to go through to have a child? Would it be worth the money you are paid? In Amanda Lisandra’s case, things didn’t go at all the way she planned. And the worst of it is that she is sure she actually gave away she and her husband’s own flesh and blood, and how could this have happened?

Author Angela Hunt writes yet another masterpiece in her new book, The Offering. I love books that capture my attention in the first few pages, and this one did that for sure. Angela Hunt weaves together the story of a family struggling just as we all do to make a better life for their family. And since Amanda didn’t have a college education, being a surrogate mom just sounded like an awesome way to put her family ahead financially. But as we follow her journey, the twists and turns that take place in this amazing story will keep you so engrossed in this book that you will have to remind yourself to come up for air! I love, love this story, but it is difficult to read some of it because it is so heartbreaking and very sad. And I really wish I hadn’t read any reviews or the back of the book because it just gives away too much information. I like to know a little about a book, but thats it, just a little. I read so many books that, if given too many things to think about, I can figure the story out, and I really don’t like that. I like the surprises of finding out everything while reading!

I received this book from Litfuse to read and review.  I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.

There he meets Amanda Yoder and her daughter Regina who soon are warming his heart. But will Roman return to Ohio or will he stay and help the young widow embrace a second chance at love?

The author of the series Sisters of the Heart and Seasons of Sugarcreek, Shelley Shepard Gray delivers an honest, tender love story in Ray of Light, featuring the challenges of faith, family, and romance.Purchase a copy: http://ow.ly/l5Xy7

My Thoughts on this Book

This book has two awesome things that I love going for it. It is an Amish fiction and it is written by Shelley Shepard Gray. This mixture makes for a very awesome, heartwarming read!

Roman Keim and Amanda Yoder are both vacationing Pinecraft, the Amish snowbird community in Florida. Neither of then were expecting to meet someone they would be attracted to, but it just happened. But there are several problems, and one is Amanda’s mother-in-law. She just doesn’t want to let go of her sons memory, a son she lost, and a husband Amanda lost two years ago. Has enough time passed that Amanda can go from mourning her husband and care for another man?
This is another heartwarming Amish story from author Shelley Shepard Gray. I love that Ms. Gray’s Amish stories tell more than the plain simple life of an Amish family, but the real day to day difficult life situations that we all face everyday, Amish or not. Roman’s family certainly has their secrets, and they all seem to be coming out at one time. And then the family seems to all be going in different directions, and who be hold the household and farm together?
All of this and much more is woven together into this second book in The Days of Redemption Series. You will surely not want to miss this exciting continuing story  about these special Amish families. I really recommend that you pickup a copy of Ray of Light today for a few hours of enlightening entertainment. And while you are at it, pick up the first book in this series, Daybreak to read first. You will not be disappointed. And watch out for the third book in this series coming out in September of this year, Eventide. An awesome award-winning author and heartwarming Amish stories, you just can’t go wrong!

A Place to Belong

Chuck Wagons Crossing the Prairies

The Exciting Conclusion to Lauraine Snelling’s WILD WEST WIND series

As winter settles over the Engstrom ranch, Cassie Lockwood has a lot on her mind. The way Lucas Engstrom smiles at her should set her heart to tripping. But it doesn’t. Shouldn’t there be some attraction to him if they are going to be married? His vow to make her love him doesn’t seem to be working, no matter how considerate and charming he is. And then there’s the look she caught him sending Betsy Hudson at church one Sunday. Are she and Lucas drifting apart?

During a short trip away, Cassie realizes she must make other plans for her future. But what will the Engstroms say when she announces plans to leave the ranch and join a Wild West show?

My Thoughts on this book

Wow, this is a wonderful conclusion to this series. Cassie has finally found where she belongs, living with the Engstrom’s on their ranch. I grew to love these characters as I’ve read this series, and they really feel so real and personal to me. I loved learning more and more about living on the ranch, and I loved the family Cassie was living with. It was heartwarming to see how Mavis and her family took Cassie in. And I appreciate the way Ms. Snelling weaves the Christian life throughout this book, as well as the rest of the series. If you are looking for a good wild west series, you will enjoy this one by Lauraine Snelling. Why not pick up your copy today!

Is he keeping secrets that will impact Karlina’s family?

Dovie Cates visits the Amana Colonies to learn more about the place where her mother grew up. But when Dovie begins to ask questions about her mother’s past, no one seems willing to reveal anything, so she decides to take matters into her own hands. Will the answers she finds spell disaster for her future plans and the longings of her heart?
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
This book was different than any I’ve read because it is about about the Amana Colonies, and I’ve never read anything about this group of people. The information on the  culture of the Amana Colonies was interesting, and I enjoyed this historical setting and reading about the way they lived in the late 1800’s. The characters were are interesting and realistic and entertaining. The calm and simple living of the Amana people was refreshing and heartwarming. I have read many of Judith Miller’s books, and have enjoyed each one I’ve read, and I look forward to more books from this author!

Catch a Falling Star

by Beth K. Vogt

ABOUT THE BOOK

Catch a Falling StarWhat does a girl do when life doesn’t go according to her plan?At 36, Kendall Haynes has seen some of her dreams come true. She’s a family physician helping kids with severe allergies and asthma achieve more fulfilling lives—a childhood struggle she knows all too well. But the feeling of being “the kid never picked” looms large when romance continues to evade her and yet another one of her closest friends gets engaged. Are Kendall’s dreams of having it all—a career, a husband, children—nothing more than childish wishing upon a star? Should she hold out for her elusive Plan A? Dust off Plan B? Or is it time to settle? God says he knows the plans he has for her—why can’t Kendall figure them out and be content with her life?

Griffin Walker prefers flying solo—both as an Air Force pilot and in his personal life. But a wrong choice and health problems pulled him out of the cockpit. His attempts to get out of “flying a desk” are complicated by his parents’ death—making Griffin the reluctant guardian of his sixteen-year-old brother, Ian. How did his life get so off course? Can God get his life back on track … or has there been a divine plan all along?

Catch a Falling Star reminds readers that romance isn’t just for twenty-somethings and that sometimes letting go of your “wish I may, wish I might” dreams is the only way to embrace everything God has waiting for you.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

After reading Wish You Were Here by Beth Vogt, I was really excited about reading Catch A Falling Star, and I am very happy I had the opportunity to read this book! I enjoyed is so much because it is a really good, light, refreshing read. With characters that are going through the things that people go through everyday, I liked the way Ms Vogt weaved the characters living for God in their everyday lives. Griffin has so much baggage that he doesn’t feel worthy of taking care of his brother, nor does he feel worthy of Dr. Kendall Haynes, making his life miserable. But he was miserable because of bad choices he made years earlier. But can he overcome these problems and live a happy life?

I highly recommend Catch a Falling Star to you if you for a nice summer read! I promise you will be delightfully entertained!

Litfuse Presents Undeniably Yours…by Becky Wade

Undeniably Yours

by Becky Wade

Undeniably YoursWhen Meg Cole’s father dies unexpectedly, she’s forced to return home to Texas and to Whispering Creek Ranch to take up the reins of his empire. The last thing she has the patience or the sanity to deal with? Her father’s Thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives its manager, Bo Porter, six months to close the place down.

Bo knows he ought to resent the woman who’s determined to take from him the only job he ever wanted. But instead of anger, Meg evokes within him a profound desire to protect. The more time he spends with her, the more he longs to overcome every obstacle that separates them and earn her love.

Just when Meg realizes she can no longer deny the depth of her feelings for Bo, their fragile bond is broken by a force from Meg’s past. Can their relationship–and their belief that God can work through every circumstance–survive?

{WATCH THE TRAILER}

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Bo is just your regular cowboy that runs a horse ranch, but when the owner passes away, he is faced with the daughter, which is now the new owner, closing the ranch and losing everything he has worked for for year.

Meg Cole may now be the heir of her dads estate and owning 51% of the family oil business, but this is not what she wants to do with her life. She hates the mansion she grew up in, and she does not want to run the oil business.

Then Meg meets Bo.

Becky Wade is a new gifted author that is now on my favorite author list! This is such an enjoyable story. The characters are adorable and so realistic, I love the way Meg enjoyed helping those in need. And I found it so special and sweet that, though Meg has problems with stress, when she is around Bo, her stress disappears. Even just being around him, hearing his voice relieves her stress. But though Bo was very attracted to Meg, he knew he was not worthy of her, that she deserved someone a lot better than someone like him.

I also enjoyed the vivid description of the different horses and what it takes to run the ranch. Becky Wade weaves together a heartwarming story that will go the extra mile to entertain you as you read it’s pages.

I received this book from Litfuse to read and review.  I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Set during the Industrial Revolution and the Great Exhibition of 1851, Follow the Heart is a “sitting-room romance” with the feel of a Regency-era novel but the fashions and technological advances of the mid-Victorian age.

Kate and Christopher Dearing’s lives turn upside down when their father loses everything in a railroad land speculation. The siblings are shipped off to their mother’s brother in England with one edict: marry money.

At twenty-seven years old, Kate has the stigma of being passed over by eligible men many times—and that was before she had no dowry. Christopher would like nothing better than to make his own way in the world; and with a law degree and expertise in the burgeoning railroad industry, he was primed to do just that—in America.

Though their uncle tries to ensure Kate and Christopher find matrimonial prospects only among the highest echelon of British society, their attentions stray to a gardener and a governess.

While Christopher has options that would enable him to lay his affections where he chooses, he cannot let the burden of their family’s finances crush his sister. Trying to push her feelings for the handsome—but not wealthy— gardener aside, Kate’s prospects brighten when a wealthy viscount shows interest in her. But is marrying for the financial security of her family the right thing to do, when her heart is telling her she’s making a mistake?

Mandates . . . money . . . matrimony. Who will follow the heart?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Follow the Heart is a really heartwarming story, set in the early 1850’s and I enjoyed it very much! I loved the vivid details of the setting and the entertaining and realistic characters. If you enjoy historical fiction, you will love this one, so I encourage you to give it a try!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is the first book I’ve read by Rachel Hauck and I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming story. I love the rich prince/poor girl story, and I especially loved the prince being willing to work at anything including clean toilets at Susanna’s mom’s restaurant. Of course they only new him as Nate at the time, no one knew he was actually a prince. The problem was, Nate and Susanna couldn’t be an item, and they could never get married because it was forbidden in his country. But could the two of them live without each other? This is where the story really gets interesting, and I couldn’t out the book down, because I just wanted to find out what was going to happen to these two young people so much in love.

If you enjoy a good clean story about royal families, this would be a wonderful book for you to read. Run out and grab your copy today!

When Love Calls by Lorna Seilstad

When Love Calls

by Lorna Seilstad

9780800721817

When romance calls, will she choose to answer?

Hannah Gregory is good at many things, but that list does not include following rules. So when she must apply for a job as a switchboard operator to support her two sisters, she knows it won’t be easy. Hello Girls must conduct themselves according to strict-and often bewildering-rules, which include absolutely no consorting with gentlemen while in training.

Hannah doubts it will be difficult to keep that rule-until a handsome young lawyer starts getting under her skin.

With historic details that bring to life the exciting first decade of the twentieth century, Lorna Seilstad weaves a charming tale of companionship that blossoms into sweet romance.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I loved reading When Love Calls. Lorna Seilstad writes the most entertaining and fun-lovin’ books. With characters like Hannah Gregory, who’s mouth seems to keep her in trouble, and Lincoln Cole, bigtime lawyer, but with a soft heart for Hannah and her sisters, readers will be delighted with the details and twists and turns within the pages of this book.

Mix a well to do lawyer and Hannah and her sisters just trying to survive having enough food to eat and a place to live, makes for an intriguing and heartwarming story. And add a few cupfuls of humor, and you will sure be entertained for a few days as you read When Love Calls. And just when does love call? Well thats why you need to read this wonderful book! Lynn Myers is still reeling from losing her husband of thirty-five years when word comes that her only sibling, an older brother, has also died. With no one else to settle the estate, she must return to her small hometown of Bloomfield, however briefly, to settle his affairs.

Lynn’s daughter, Rachel, has just graduated from Bible college and with no other commitments comes along to sort through her uncle’s huge old home, right next to the local cemetery.

It isn’t long before Rachel has two men — a handsome CPA and the youth pastor — seriously vying for her attention. At the same time, Lynn’s attention is drawn to a set of journals her brother has left behind detailing a long-standing Bloomfield mystery.

As they pursue solving this mystery, Rachel must make some personal decisions about her future, while Lynn is forced to face unexpected issues from her own past.

If you would like to read the first chapter of Last Chance for Justice, go HERE.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I really enjoyed this heartwarming story by Kathi Macias. Lynn Meyers and her daughter were both special characters, and I loved reading about their experience at the old house Lynn’s brother left to her. The town of Bloomfield was a nice little community, one that Lynn grew up in, and that Rachel wanted to learn more about.

The twists and turns of the mystery left by Lynn’s brother for her to solve is enough to keep you reading this story. But you will also enjoy the surroundings of the old house and cemetery and the old man Jason. Kathi Macias is a gifted storyteller, and I love reading anything she writes! I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Last Chance for Justice for your enjoyment!

Litfuse Presents The Face of the Earth By Deborah Raney

The Face of the Earth

By Deborah Raney

FaceoftheEarth-e1361979596275

About The Face of the Earth:When Mitchell Brannon’s beloved wife of twenty years kisses him goodbye one autumn morning, he has little idea that his life is about to change forever. Mitch returns from work early that evening, surprised Jill’s car isn’t in the garage. Her conference in Kansas City is only a few hours’ drive from their little town of Sylvia, Missouri. But her voice on the answering machine makes him smile. “Hey, babe, I’m just now checking out of the hotel, but I’ll stop and pick up something for dinner. Love you.”

Mitch sets the table with their best china and lights some candles, looking forward to their first weekend as empty nesters.
But at eight o’clock, the candles have burned to stubs and Jill still hasn’t shown up. Mitch tries her cell phone only to get her voice mail over and over again. Their two college kids haven’t heard from their mom either.
At midnight, Mitch’s irritation turns to dread. And later, when the police and Missouri Highway Patrol have turned up nothing, the Kansas City hotel calls to say they’ve found property belonging to Jill in a hotel maid’s possession.
Mitch enlists the help of their next-door neighbor, Jill’s best friend, Shelley, and together they search for clues to Jill’s disappearance. As days turn into weeks and weeks into months, Mitch and Shelley’s friendship grows ever closer–and decidedly complicated with Jill as the tie that binds them together. Just when Shelley decides to finally reveal her feelings for Mitch, a clue to Jill’s whereabouts is uncovered. But every lead seems to be a dead end, and Mitch wonders how he can honor the vows he made to a woman who has seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth.Purchase a copy: http://ow.ly/kFdwM

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Wow, this book is awesome! Deborah Raney is truly an amazing, gifted and talented story teller. The Face of the Earth is one of my favorite all time books! I was hooked from the first page, and I couldn’t put the book down because I had to find out what happened to Jill! I wanted to be there for Mitch and their two kids, just for support if nothing else. I can’t even imagine waiting for someone you love, and they never show up. What would you do in that situation? There are so many emotions flying around in this story, so many ups and downs, twists and turns, it was difficult for me to think about anything else except for, ‘what happened to Jill.’
This book is chunked full of love, loss, forgiveness and trust in the Lord. If you enjoy fiction, you must read this book! You will be very well entertained! So pick up your copy today. I received this book from Litfuse to read and review.  I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Finally, we have the amazing conclusion to Emma Rae and Jackson’s story  in Sandra D. Bricker’s  Always the Baker, Never the Bride. I have enjoyed Ms. Bricker’s hilarious and entertaining writing style in this series, and I especially enjoyed this fourth book. After Jackson asks Emma to marry him, their life took a new direction in many ways, Emma trying to make just the right cake for the two of them, and Jackson dealing with new situations at the hotel. Should he take the offer he has and sell out, or just what is the best solution?

I really enjoyed the delightful characters and the twists and turns throughout this book to make this story a wonderful, entertaining read. I found my self laughing and crying as I followed Emma Rae and Jackson’s journey to their life as a married couple. But there are so many obstacles, will they finally tie the knot, or just what will happen?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

When I see a Sherry Kyle book I know I am in for a good, clean, enjoyable and fun read. And this is just what The Heart Stone is! I really loved this book, I loved the story, the characters, and how Ms. Kyle handled the situations that happened in the story. Trusting God and Forgiveness plays a huge part in this story, not that forgiveness was easy, but it was necessary in order for Jessica to heal. And I really enjoyed having two romances going on at the same time, that was just a little added enjoyment for me! I think the characters were believable, at times I felt as though I was living the story with the characters, and for me that always makes the story so much more enjoyable.

Oh and Uncle George’s part in this story is heartwarming as well. How many times do we get frustrated and blame God when things are not going our way, or when difficult situations happen? George acted just as any human would when he lost his leg. But what would happen when an old flame from his younger years appears on the scene? Well you just have to read the book to find out. You will not be disappointed!

About

She’s come home to put a killer behind bars.
But the killer plans to put her six feet under.

Investigative reporter Jillian Carter knows it’s time to put the past to rest. She’s tired of looking over her shoulder, letting a killer go free. She’s no longer the scared kid who changed her name and disappeared. Now, no matter what the cost, Jillian must do what she is trained to do-find the truth and expose it. And the truth is that Senator Frank Hoffman committed murder ten years ago-and Jillian watched it happen.

Didn’t she?

Get ready for the spine-tingling, nail-biting conclusion to this explosive series.

“A fabulous read! Eason is a master at romantic suspense. I gobbled up the novel in two days and promptly ordered the first two books in the series. Highly recommended!”-Colleen Coble, author of the Rock Harbor and the Hope Beach series

“Fast-paced romantic suspense with compelling characters who pull you into the story and make you care what happens to them.”-Margaret Daley, author of Scorned Justice and the Men of the Texas Rangers series

“Clear the runway and fasten your seat belts. This novel captures the reader in the first line and doesn’t stop until the end. Eason has created a suspense-packed story that captivates.”-DiAnn Mills, author of The Chase and The Survivor.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Finally, the conclusion to the Deadly Reunion series! Jillian returns home after ten years and the stakes are much higher, the killer wants her dead, and now! But all Jillian wants is for Senator Frank Huffman to pay for the murder she saw him do ten years earlier. Jillian is tired of hiding and wants her life back.

I really enjoyed this entire series by Lynette Eason. Lynette has a way of weaving so many twists and turns together and coming up with a story that will have your head spinning throughout the book. I enjoyed experiencing the deep emotions of those working on Jillian’s case as they tried to protect her from whoever it was trying to take her life. I especially liked Colton, and was hoping throughout the story that he and Jillian would get back together. If you enjoy thrillers/suspense/mysteries, then you will sure want to read When A Secret Kills! And while you are at it, pick up the first two books in Lynette Eason’s Deadly Reunion series.
