MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

As much as he hates to do it, Texas Ranger Brett Tucker has no choice but to break up the wedding. Not only is it time for Frank Foster to get what’s coming to him, but the lady he is marrying is in terrible danger. So here goes. And what a commotion it is making. Frank Foster isn’t going down without a fight. And poor Kate Denver, she will be so embarrassed the rest of her life, and the laughing stock of their little town. Especially when the unthinkable happens. Join Texas Ranger Brett on this long journey of finding out the real truth.

From the time Texas Ranger Brett Tucker crashed the wedding in the first chapter, till the end of the book, this story will have you laughing. As with all of Margaret Brownley’s books, it’s hilarious. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the old Western town and its characters. There are so many scenes that had me laughing so much, like the ones where Brett was trying to redeem himself by teaching Frank how to be romantic, when Frank didnt have a romantic bone in his body! And some of the scenes with Frank and Kate, because Frank was allergic to animals. I had to re-read some of these scenes! Then there were somewhat serious times when Brett was spending too much time with Kate. And there is also a little mystery that came to town to pike your interest. This is a clean historical romance from Margaret Brownley, not Christian fiction like most of her books. Ms. Brownley writes both in her same unique way with lots of action and loads if humor and laughter.

Over all, this is a fun and exciting read. If you are looking for some clean, fun and funny entertainment, you should check this book out. MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

The Cowboy Meets His Match is the second book in the Haywire Brides Series, and listen people, it’s just as hilarious as the first one. Chase McKnight has one year to marry and prove his marriage is ligit in order to secure his family ranch. Chase’s problem is, he marries the first lady who gets off the coach, and oops, she happens to be the wrong one. So, what’s he gonna do, he only has a year to prove his marriage, and his new wife knows nothing about a ranch. Chase might as well give it up.

I laughed at Chase and Emily all the way through this book. They were both as different as day and night. But as they spent time together and as Emily gets use to the ranch, the story gets even sweeter. But will it be enough. For the life of him, Chase has no idea why his dad left his half brother in the run to inherit the ranch, it should be Chase’s fair and square. But it is not, and believe me, this is a journey that will keep you on your toes. If you enjoy westerns, you will love this new read from author Margaret Brownley.  And I want to add, though Ms. Brownley writes awesome Christian fiction, this one is not in this category.  It is a clean historical fiction read with the same unique writing style and the same humor and laughter as all of her books are.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Four Weddings & A Kiss is four Novella’s written by four of my favorite authors, Mary Connealy, Margaret Brownley, Robin Lee Hatcher, and Debra Clopton has written four outstanding romances to make up this wonderful book. I love them all, they are all so wonderful I can’t pick one favorite. I n each story, the young lady seems to be thrown into a situation she doesn’t want to be in, making adding an intriguing twist to each couple’s tale. I laughed a while and sniffed a while as I read each story, a story of love, acceptance and forgiveness. Can you pick a favorite? Check out Four Weddings & a Kiss and see what you think!

Mary Connealy is the author ofSpitfire Sweetheart and boy is Maisy a spitfire! And a boyish one at that. But what happens when she cleans up and puts on a dress? Well find out about this little spitfire as she tries to take care of the stubborn rancher Rylan Carstens while he is bedridden after an accident.

A Love Letter to the Editor is written by author Robin Lee Hatcher    which features Molly Everton, who writes the most popular features of their small town newspaper.  But Molly is shocked to find out that she doesn’t get the job of editor, instead it goes to Jack. And Molly is definitely not happy about that! Imagine what will happen between Molly and Jack as he takes over his new job and Molly stays at her old one!

Cowboy stories are always fun and exciting and especially A Cowboy for Katie by Debra Clopton   and this is Katie and Treb’s interesting story are Treb helps Katie after a tornado almost ruins her ranch.

And last but not least is Courting Trouble by Margaret BrownleyI have grown to love Margaret Brownley’s books the last few years that I have been reading them. I love their fun and humorous nature. And Ms. Brownley didn’t disappoint here. You are sure to laugh and enjoy Grace and Brock as he tries to free Grace from her troubles.

9 Stories of Finding Shelter and Love in a Wintry Frontier

by Margaret BrownleyKathleen FullerMarcia Gruver,Cynthia HickeyVickie McDonoughShannon McNear,Lauraine SnellingMichelle UleAnna Carrie Urquhart

Journey along with American settlers who learn that despite where the trail takes them or how primitive their lodgings may be Christmas is all about the heart. Determined to honor Christ’s birth, these pioneers find a way to make Christmas happen in places like a cave, a tipi, and a dugout. Modern readers will enjoy a peek into life before commercialism took over the sacred day, distracting us from the true blessings of faith, hope, and love. Enjoy nine original novellas of Christmas romance as penned from many of today’s leading Christian authors, including Lauraine Snelling, Kathleen Fuller, and Vickie McDonough.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

A Pioneer Christmas Collection was such a good read! Each story is short enough that it can be read in an hour or so, but they are short but Awesome!! I especially enjoyed these because the setting of each is during the pioneer days and I love that era in history. Listed below are the nine stories, the author who wrote each one, and the historical time and place of the setting. If you only purchase one fiction to read during the Christmas Season, this is the one you need to choose! These stories are so neat because during the busy season, its comforting to sit down take a break and read all or half of one story at a time. And if you read the beginning of my blog, you saw that Barbour Books had this amazing book for only $1.97. But hurry, it may end soon!

And today I am mainly focusing on A Pony Express Christmas by Margaret Brownley, since Margaret so graciously provided a copy for me to read and review.

Ellie-Mae Newman was in search of her brother. He left home because of not getting along with their dad, but now that their dad was gone, Ellie-Mae wanted to find her twin. But at this time, she is sitting with a broken wagon with two stubborn mules to pull it with, that is if it was workable! Then she runs into a hanging about to happen, and offers money for the poor mans life. Thanking Ellie and walking away, Mr. Corbett thought he was free, but little did he know he had a price to pay.

Margaret Brownley makes every story she writes funny and fun to read. In the mist of the difficult situations Ellie-Mae and Mr. Corbett were in, she had be laughing most of the way through A Pony Express Christmas Collection. How these two kept going on their trail was anybody’s guess, but they kept one. Ellie-Mae was one determined woman, and Mr. Corbett was a fugitive. But as they stopped at each Pony Express office on the trail, them seemed to run into a dead end, but Ellie-Mae just wouldn’t give up. Wanna find out if they find this twin brother? The answer is in Ms. Brownley’s story, A Pony Express Christmas. And you will find this story in A Pioneer Christmas Collection from Barbour Books HERE.

Book Description

The Brides of Last Chance Ranch, #3

Molly Hatfield comes to Arizona Territory seeking stability and security. But living in Cactus Patch provides her with more than she ever dreamed.

There is nothing Molly wouldn’t do for her teenaged brother, Donny. Blaming herself for the accident that left him wheelchair bound, Molly has dedicated her life to his care. But in 1896, gainful employment for a woman is hard to come by. So when Molly learns that an eccentric rancher in Cactus Patch, Arizona, is looking for an heiress—someone to take over management of the ranch in exchange for future ownership—she jumps at the chance to provide a real home for her brother.

However, Molly didn’t bank on meeting Dr. Caleb Fairbanks, the town’s charming unmarried doctor. Caleb has a way with Molly that makes her nervous. But it’s how he is with her brother that really alarms her. Caleb sees past the wheelchair and genuinely likes Donny, but Molly fears he’s putting unrealistic ideas into her brother’s head. Falling in love with Caleb would threaten everything she’s worked for, even her brother’s future happiness. But it could be the very reason God brought her to Last Chance Ranch.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Having read the first two books in this series, I was anxious for the third book in The Brides of Last Chance Ranch to hit the stands. And author Margaret Brownley did not disappoint! With characters that I fell in love with, I thoroughly enjoyed another really good read that will stay with me for a while! I grew to love Molly, and the relationship she had with her brother was truly heartwarming. My heart went out to her as she strove to do whatever she could to take care of Donny.

Waiting for Morning is truly a story that will capture the heart of any reader, just as it did mine. I highly recommend this historical fiction to book lovers everywhere. A copy of this book was provided by Booksneeze’s blogger program. I was not required or expected to write a positive review. The opinions in this review are mine only.

Trouble may follow Lucy wherever she goes, but with the help of God and the rugged, reclusive David Wolf, she’ll never face adversity alone.

Lucy Fairbanks dreams of working as a photographer at the Rocky Creek newspaper. If she can earn money making photographs, then maybe her father will see that what she does is worthy, more than just a distraction. And her deepest hope is that he’ll see her as an artist, the way he thought of her deceased mother, whose paintings still hung on their walls.
But trouble follows Lucy on every photo shoot: a mess of petticoats and ribbons, an accidental shooting, even a fire.
When Lucy meets David Wolf—a quiet, rustic man who lives on the outskirts of town—she thinks she can catch the attention of the town with his photograph. She doesn’t count on her feelings stirring whenever she’s near him.
Two things happen next that forever change the course of Lucy’s life: David says the words Lucy has longed to hear since her mother died: that she is a compassionate, creative young woman that God made in His image. And in return Lucy helps David change his perspective on an event that wounded him long ago.
God’s arms are around this unlikely couple as they leave behind long-held assumptions and discover the true freedom of forgiveness.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Thrills, mystery, suspense, romance: Margaret penned it all. Nothing wrong with this—except Margaret happened to be writing for the church newsletter. After making the church picnic read like a Grisham novel, her former pastor took her aside and said, “Maybe God’s calling you to write fiction.”

So that’s what Margaret did. She now has more than 25 novels and novellas to her credit and has been published in 15 languages.  The first book in her Rocky Creek series A Lady Like Sarah was a 2010 Women of Faith selection, and Romance Writers of American RITA finalist. Her next book A Vision of Lucy will be released in June.

Happily married to her real life hero, Margaret and her husband live in Southern California, and have three grown children.

My Review

My Review
Despite her father not being supportive, Lucy Fairbanks’ love of photography leads her to many places in her community, trying to capture the moment with her camera. Unfortunately that landed her into many unexplainable situations. How can you explain falling out of a tree on the top of a stagecoach being robbed by three bandits, scaring the horses into taking off with the stagecoach, Lucy on top, leaving the bandits behind? Or when trying to sneak a picture of the wild man, ending up in a sink hole, pulling wild man David Wolf in with her? And this is just a few times Lucy Fairbanks gets into trouble in this story. And why does David always seem to show up during Lucy’s troubled situations? Will Lucy finally succumb to her many difficulties trying to be a photographer and find another career? And what will people think of her and wild man Wolf?
A Vision of Lucy was a wonderful story of Lucy and her love of taking pictures. The fascinating thing about the camera was the historical time setting and cameras in that time in history. Though I have seen them in movies, I’d never read anything about them. The author’s research and knowledge of cameras in the early days was evident in the way she explained them in detail. This added historical detail made the story much more interesting. I love the characters the author created as well. They were witty, fun, funny, secretive, and nosy, and each fit the story line perfectly. The humor in this book makes it a great enjoyable book to relax and read. My pick for the funniest scene by far is Lucy falling out of the tree onto the stagecoach. And Lucy was so lovable I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen to her. I feel this book is very well written by the author Margaret Brownley. She has the ability to keep you interested enough to not want to stop reading until the last page! And I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who love Historical Fiction. You will not be waiting your time reading this!
Thanks to the Author Margaret Brownley for providing a copy of “A Vision of Lucy” for me to read, it was an honor to read and review . I was not expected to give a positive review of this book. The opinions in this review are mine alone.
