Just in time for Valentine’s day, Harelquin Heartwarming line has just the book for romance fans. Set in the sweet little town of Carter’s Crossing, Valetine’s Proposal By Kim Findlay, has plenty of swoon worthy kisses that will warm your heart. I love Harlequin Heartwarming romances because they are clean reads that romance lovers can read and swoon over all they want. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this interesting and sometimes comical Valentine read. The small town setting is perfect and the characters found their way into my heart early one. And even though this whole ordeal is fake, I was really cheering on this special couple. Who seemed to be opposites. Kim Findlay describes the town of  Carter’s Crossing so well that I really wanted to be there with these characters. This is one read you don’t want to miss as we near the sweet Valentine’s day. I give this one Four Stars! Run out and get this one to read!

About the Author

Born and raised in Chicago, Virginia McCullough has been lucky enough to develop her writing career in many locations, including the coast of Maine, the mountains of North Carolina, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and currently, Northeast Wisconsin. She started her career in nonfiction, first writing articles and then books as a ghostwriter and coauthor. She’s written more than 100 books for physicians, business owners, professional speakers and many others with information to share or a story to tell.

Virginia’s books feature characters who could be your neighbors and friends. They come in all ages and struggle with everyday life issues in small-town environments that almost always include water—oceans, lakes, or rivers. The mother of two grown children, you’ll find Virginia with her nose a book, walking on trails or her neighborhood street, or she may be packing her bag to take off for her next adventure. And she’s always working on another story about hope, healing, and second chances.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

High School Principal, Eric Wells couldn’t believe it when his high school crush Amy Morgan moved back to Bluestone River, with her daughter. And having their first meeting to be one that her daughter was in trouble at school was not the way he wanted them to met, but here she was.

I liked this story from the sstart. But sometimes Amy was annoying because she couldn’t make up her mind when it came to Eric. She kept leading him on. And because he was crazy about her, he just let her. They both needed some adjustments. I like Eric. He was a good principle because of his life growing up. He had a mentor to help him so he passed this on to the school kids, and to Cassie. And he also passed this on to Amy’s grandparents, always seeming to think of their feelings.

This small town was special in the way they pulled together to save their heritage. A town I would love to live in. There were many disagreements, and they seemed to come to decisions to please most. There is so much more going on in this story and author Virginia McCullough does an amazing job of weaving it all together to make A Bridge Home the Heartwarming story it is. If you enjoy a good clean Romance, I am sure you will love this one. And check out the other books in this series by Virginia McCullough. They are the same Heartwarming romance as this one is.

Launch – Note from the Author

Thank you for joining me for the Christmas in Bayberry blog tour!

I know it’s hot here in the northern hemisphere and not exactly Christmastime but… maybe that’s the best time to visit a small town in snowy Vermont. So grab a nice cold drink and curl up to take an armchair vacation in a warm, cozy town. . .

Rockin’ Book Reviews – Review

“This is truly a Christmas reading delight! . . . This tale is such a relaxing drama, enclosed within a small town full of “Christmas Spirit”. although quite predictable, it is endearing and the characters and scenes”draws one in”.”

Pause for Tales – Review

“If you are looking for a little Christmas in July, look no further than Christmas in Bayberry. And if you adore Hallmark movies, you will enjoy this story from Hallmark Publishing. . . . As Wes and Kate navigate business and their attraction to each other grows, both of their dreams become at risk. Finding out what is most important to each other made this heartwarming story a welcome read.”

Books with Bethany – Review

“This is truly the sweetest Christmas book I’ve read in quite sometime . . . Jennifer’s writing and detailed descriptions have you feeling as if you are in this small town Vermont. . . . I highly recommend this beauty to get you in the holiday spirit!”

Remembrancy – Review

“The temperature outside may be in the 90s right now, but Christmas in Bayberry put me right in the holiday mood. Though a bit predictable (but Hallmark wouldn’t be Hallmark without their signature happy endings, now would they?), it is a sweet and fun escape.”

Angel’s Guilty Pleasures – Excerpt

Wes stepped up to his boss’s very large oak desk. “Here’s the file you requested. Everything should be in there.”

“Thank you.” Mr. Summers took the folder, then gestured to the two charcoal gray chairs in front of his desk. “Take a seat.”

Wes was torn between doing what the president of the company wanted or speaking up about his pending meeting. After all, Mr. Summers had the final say on who got the promotion. Wes had to stay on the man’s good side, but he also had to get his work done.

Wes’s mouth grew dry. He swallowed hard. “Sir, I’m expected in the conference room on the twelfth floor right now.”

Mr. Summers leaned forward, resting his elbows on the large oak desk. “They can wait.” His gray brows drew together in a formidable line. “This is important.”

Splashes of Joy – Review

“This is my favorite book that I have read by Jennifer Faye. It is a Hallmark Christmas Story, so if you are a fan of Hallmark movies, you will love this one! . . . If you love sweet, cozy, snowy, small town Christmas stories, Christmas in Bayberry is a must for you! I [thoroughly] enjoyed this Christmas in July read, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, whether you read it in July, or closer to Christmas!”

I’m Into Books – Spotlight

Jorie Loves A Story – Review

“In true Hallmark Channel fashion, this is a story which has an HEA and a homey afterglow – where you know that for the towne of Bayberry, nothing is ever impossible until you reach the point where you cannot believe in the small miracles which evoke the most change in your life.”

Cover Lover Book Review – Review

“In the classic Hallmark style, Christmas in Bayberry is a swoony, feel-good, cozy read. And Bayberry, Vermont is the pinnacle setting to tug me into the Christmas (in July) mood. . . . If you enjoy a rosy-clean slow-burn romance and second chances in a magical holiday atmosphere, you’ll surely sink into Christmas in Bayberry (and you may not want to leave.)”

Peaceful Pastime – Review

“I have read several books penned by Jennifer Faye and this was my favorite so far, The idyllic setting of Bayberry, Vermont, the close knit community and their Christmas festivities brought the story to life before my eyes. . . . I thought this was a fantastic book that is suitable for all ages and would make a perfect Christmas gift for the reader in your life. It flows at a great pace, it held my interest throughout . . .”

Reviewingbooksplusmore – Review

“I enjoyed this book so much. I can definitely see it as a Hallmark Christmas Movie. . . . A story I enjoyed reading as a Christmas in July book. I definitely recommend reading this book.”

E-Romance News – Excerpt

“Bayberry Candle Company” was printed across the top of each sheet. The breath caught in her throat. This was it—the evaluation of the company.

Kate knew she shouldn’t look, but it was like watching a train accident: You just couldn’t turn away. As she assembled the pages in numeric order, she noticed on the next-to-last sheet a header that read: “Conclusions.”

Her heart clenched. She stared at the words.

Please let it be a vote to keep the business operating.

Please. Please. Please.

Her gaze skimmed down the page. And then it stopped.

Reading Is My SuperPower – Review

“Jennifer Faye captures the small town charm of a Hallmark movie and weaves it into a sweet romance with a nod to Christmas miracles. Well-written & entertaining, the story also balances Hallmark’s comforting predictability with a couple twists & turns that may still surprise you. The characters are warm & likable and you’ll want to book a trip of your own to the quaint town of Bayberry!”

Reading Excursions – Review

“It’s beautiful, moving, and so heartwarming. . . . It was an absolutely delightful read. The small town “every one works there or knows someone who does” plot line was perfection. . . . I highly recommend this sweet book for those who LOVE clean, feel good, small-town Christmas romances. Fans of Hallmark movies will more than likely love this story. And, I’m pretty certain fans of the author will be delighted as well.”

Ponderings from the Inglenook – Review

“Immediately upon opening the pages of this book, I was transported to snowy, small towns, twinkling fairy lights and hot chocolate curled up by the fireplace. This is my first book by Jennifer Faye, but it won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy Christmasy read.”

Harlie’s Books – Review

“. . . I was totally invested in the town, Kate and Wes but also in the story. Ms. Faye is an excellent storyteller and takes her time here. It’s in-depth, romantic, heartwarming, and just overall a great book to read now in the heat of the summer. . . Do yourself a favor and start reading Ms. Faye. Especially this book. It will warm your heart. And yes, I could see it as a Hallmark Movie. Psst…I’d watch it, too.”

Katherinelovesbooks – Review

“I absolutely fell in love with this book. It has such great festivity vibe with all the happy, jolly moments. Bayberry, as a place not only sounds amazing but at the same time it seems magical. Our protagonists Kate and Wes were beautifully written. The plot is engaging right from the beginning. A heartwarming story for everyone who believes in unexpected miracles.”

Musings of a Sassy Bookish Mama – Review

“Jennifer Faye is a new to me author and it was very enjoyable to read her style of writing. She had me engaged throughout the whole book. . . . If you are looking for a good-feel story and something to get you in the holiday spirit then you should definitely grab this book. It definitely made me wish for Christmas decorations, warm cozy socks, sitting by the fire with a Christmas music in the background!”

Hallie Reads – Review

“Jennifer Faye’s Christmas in Bayberry is exactly what I expect from a Hallmark Christmas story: predictable, but also fun, cozy, and heartwarming. For me, it was a much-needed reprieve from the summer heat . . . So, it is easy to say that I enjoyed Christmas in Bayberry. I think it makes a delightful read; make space for it in your holiday-reading stack—or pick it up for a seasonal escape today.”

Locks, Hooks and Books – Review

“I am giving Christmas in Bayberry a very well deserved five plus stars. I would love to read more like this one by Miss Faye in the future. I recommend this one to readers who are Hallmark fans and those who like to read clean Christmas books.”

Christy’s Cozy Corners – Review

“I absolutely love Christmas in Bayberry! If you’re a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies and sweet, clean romance, you will love it too. While you’re reading this book, you’ll be swept into the town of Bayberry, and you’re not going to want to leave! . . . Really, you’ll love all the characters in Christmas in Bayberry! The CEO, the Puppy and Me
(The Bartolini Legacy #2)
By Jennifer Faye
Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 256 Pages
June 1st 2020 by Harlequin Romance
.

Has the search for her past…

…guided her toward her future?
Gia Bartolini’s determinedly searching for her real father. First stop on the enchanting Italian island of Lapri? A mysterious abandoned mansion…where, rescuing a trapped puppy, she falls straight into the arms of alluring Riccardo Moretti! Her passion for the all-business CEO burns bright, leaving Gia with a question: In uncovering her true roots, has fate led her to true love?
.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

When the Bartolini’s lost their parents, a deep dark secret was revealed a out their parents past, and one sibling is not a Bartolini. When Gia ended up being the one that wasn’t their dads biological daughter, she takes off on a long journey trying to find the man that is her real dad. Will she really unveil secrets that have come to haunt them?

This is a sweet romance that has several other stories going on within the story. I was wondering where the puppy came in, and this was an interesting story as well. I felt the puppy held things together between Gia and Ric, especially at first. And Ric and the puppy are so adorable together.

And now to the rest of the story. It is so hard for me to write this review and not give away any of the plot! I can say that the author does a really nice job with her characters. As I read the book I had the feeling these were real people in our real world. I love the family setting, and even though they have money, the three siblings do not mind working to support themselves. And I will stop here, before I give too much away. If you love a good clean romance, check out The CEO, The Puppy and Me for a few hours of sweet entertainment!

Alaskan Dreams

(Northern Lights #6)

By Beth Carpenter

Contemporary Romance

Paperback & ebook, 368 Pages

May 1st 2020 by Harlequin Heartwarming

The dream she wants

The love she found

Lauren Shepherd has traded her hectic office job for a quiet life working on an elderly friend’s farm. Risking everything to move to Alaska might just be the perfect opportunity for her—if Lauren can convince handsome and fiercely protective Patrick O’Shea that she’s not swindling his grandmother. But when financial troubles threaten her dream, Lauren and Patrick unite in a hunt for a legendary treasure…only to discover something between them more precious than gold.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Alaskan Dreams was a bit different than any other book I’ve read because of the interesting set of characters here, of which is the goats. How Lauren traveled from Oregon to Alaska in an old beaten up, run down pick up pulling an old run down trailer with goats is a mystery to me. But she mad it to her friend Bonnie’s because this is where Lauren is going to run her goat farm.

This reminds me of years ago when my dad took care of a field full of goats for a neighbor. And in this story, they acted a lot like ours. I think this is the most fun I have had reading a story in a long time. The goats were so much fun, intriguing characters for sure. Bonnie and all of her neighbors were so kind and helpful with the goats. Author Beth Carpenter does a really nice job with this story. The characters were well created and I enjoyed their development throughout this story. And the story was fun and full of enjoyment and entertainment.

If you are in the mood for a clean Romance with a little twist of humor and fun, you will enjoy this one. And even though this is a series, I had no problem reading it as a stand alone. Oh and the cover with the adorable white goad is precious!

Hey Cowboy Sweetheart by Cathy McDavid

On Tour with Prism Book Tours

Her Cowboy Sweetheart (The Sweetheart Ranch #4) By Cathy McDavid Contemporary Romance Paperback & ebook, 384 Pages May 5th 2020 by Harlequin Heartwarming

He’s been a good friend

But can he be her sweetheart?

At Sweetheart Ranch, single mom Carly Leighton finds a fresh start, and a friendly neighbor in former bull rider JD Moreno. Neither are looking for love—Carly must think first of her son, Rickie, while JD is recovering from a career-ending balance disorder. But when her former in-laws demand access to Rickie, Carly turns to JD for support and finds he is becoming more than a friend in need…

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I have read several of Cathy McDavid books and have really enjoyed them so I was excited about reading this one. First of all, this is the sweetest cover, with the cutest little boy and the adorable furry friend. Such a comforting picture. And inside this book, Ms. McDavid deals with many real life challenging situations.

Carly is at Sweetheart Ranch for a fresh start, but she wasn’t looking to spending so much time with her neighbor. Neither was former bull rider JD Moreno looking for or interested in being attracted to anyone. But they found comfort in helping each other out in dealing with life’s problems.

Author Cathy McDavid gives her reader another Heartwarming read. Sometimes it wasn’t so heartwarming though, like when Carly’s inlaws all of a sudden take interest in her son Ricky. I really like the way Ms. McDavid handles the issue, and this is just one of the many lessons you will learn from this book!

I enjoyed getting to know Carly and JD as well as the other characters that make up this book. Cathy McDavid created a wonderful and interesting cast of characters to tell her story. I love how each one developed throughout the story, getting to know what each of their personalities bring to the story. There are several twist that takes place in the story, but the ending was weaved together in a special way that will keep me thinking about the story until we see another book from this author! If you love a good clean Romance, this one is for you. Be sure and check out the other books in this series as well.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

(Affiliate links included.) Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | Book Depository | iBooks | Kobo | HarlequinPrint

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS  BOOK

Liam wasn’t happy when he ended up with the straw that would land him in California working on his friend Jace’s ranch. And he sure wasn’t expecting to run into one night stand Trish Gilbert. Shame and guilt had been so strong Liam had left the next morning before Trish awoke, neither knowing the others last name. Now they were face to face as Trish works at the vet Liam’s friend Jace uses for his ranch. Liam is at the ranch in order to learn a more modern way of ranching, as his dad expects him to, but how will working in such close company work for these two.

Author Claire McEwen does a really nice job of weaving the past together with the present in a way that readers can connect. And since I have only read one of the previous books in this series, I was able to keep up with the characters and the plot with no problem. It would be better reading the series in order, but not necessary. There is a lot going on in this story, a lot of tensions flying around everywhere and I just wanted Liam and Trisha to finally tell each other their buried little secrets. As they work through anger, guilt and shock feeling, both begin to spend more time with each other. And the more time they are together, the stronger their attraction. This is a sweet story of forgiveness and a chance at life neither of them expected. If you love sweet Heartwarming drama, this is a great one for you. Why not check it out.

The Prince and the Wedding Planner by Jennifer Faye

The Prince and the Wedding Planner (The Bartolini Legacy #1) By Jennifer Faye Contemporary Romance Paperback & ebook, 256 Pages March 1st 2020 by Harlequin Romance

When different worlds collide…

…sparks fly!

With her family name on the line, wedding planner Bianca Bartolini needs this royal wedding to go perfectly—she can’t afford distractions. Too bad the bride’s dashing brother has other plans! Duty-bound Crown Prince Leo has mere weeks to announce his own engagement, but none of the candidates measure up to Bianca. They’re the most unlikely match, but might that just make them perfect for one another?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is a sweet Heartwarming story as Bianca Bartolini plans Princess Gia’s wedding. And she just couldn’t fall for the Prince’s brother Leo, but the more time they were together the stronger the attraction grew.

I had to fall in love with Prince Leo, as it seems a lot if people felt the same. He was the most charming man, loyal to his royal heritage. I enjoyed Prince Leo and Bianca’s story and I followed their journey. The author does a great job of writing this story, weaving together the many different issues going on, and giving readers a wonderful story that will stay with me for a while. Some couples I just can’t get off my mind, and this as one of them. If you enjoy romance, check this one out. It’s a pretty fast read, and will give you a few hours of enjoyment and entertainment.

The Sheriff’s Second Chance by Tanya Agler

The Sheriff's Second Chance JustRead blog tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour & Giveaway for The Sheriff’s Second Chance by Tanya Agler, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Sherrif's Second Chance by Tanya AglerTitle: The Sheriff’s Second Chance

Author: Tanya Agler

Publisher: Harlequin Heartwarming

Release Date: January 1, 2020

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Broken things can’t be fixed…

Or can they?

Officer and single dad Mike Harrison doesn’t believe in second chances. Ever. That is, until he learns that his former best friend—gorgeous green-eyed car mechanic Georgie Bennett—is back in town. Unfortunately, she’s also a suspect in a recent break-in! But it’ll take an old classic car to show Mike and Georgie that almost anything can be restored with a little patience…and a whole lot of love.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is such a sweet read. Mike is a nice guy who made a big mistake in his earlier days. A mistake that sends his best friend out of town, for what he thinks is forever. Imagine his surprise when Georgie makes it back home to help her dear friend in his automobile garage. Although Georgie is not so sure she’s made the right decision because no one trusts her with their vehicles. Will Mike be able to rescue her, causing the town people to finally trust her?

Author Tanya Agler does an excellent job of creating the right characters for this story, developing their characters throughout the story. A story that is very well written. And an amazing debut novel! I quickly fell in love with Georgie and Mike, each with their own heartaches over the past, neither knowing what to do to fix it. And Mike’s daughter stole my heart immediately. She is such a sweet young girl, with a single dad who raised her well.

This story is all about dealing with a shaded past, forgiveness and second chances in life. Though it all doesn’t come easy. There was several difficult issues both Michael and Georgie had to deal with, including their past life relationship. But it comes together beautifully as you will find when you read this story for yourself. I encourage you to pick up a copy of The Sheriff’s Second Chance. If you enjoy clean romance, this is one is for you.

The Christmas Kiss (Back to Bluestone River #2) By Virginia McCullough Contemporary Romance Paperback & ebook, 384 pages December 1st 2019 by Harlequin Heartwarming

My Rating: 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Will working together

…lead to together forever?

Recently divorced, Parker Davis needs to focus on his new job so he can provide a stable home for his daughter in time for the Christmas holidays. The problem is, he’s frequently at odds with his boss. He and Emma O’Connell approach everything differently. Yet he finds her intriguing, and Bluestone River festivities keep pushing them together—often enough that two people at odds could find themselves evenly matched in love!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

What a sweet Christmas story! This is a bit of a change for me in a while. In The Christmas Kiss, Parker is divorced and Emma is still on the mends after surgery. Both a little more  mature and apprehensive about a relationship, and I found Emma and Parker’s story very heartwarming.  I already loved Emma from reading the first book in this series, and Parker grew on me the longer I read about him. I feel this author does a really nice job in developing the relationship between Parker and Emma, as well as Parker’s daughter, though she was not as outgoing.

I really like the Bluestone River community and enjoyed being back for a visit. The scenes and details of this little place makes me feel at home. And with the Christmas decorations and festivities, it is just when you want to be for a part of your Christmas Season.  I encourage you to check out this book. You are sure to have hours of entertainment, enjoyment and Holiday pleasure as you read The Christmas Kiss.

Low Country Christmas by Lee Tobin McClain

Low Country Christmas(1)

Come home to Safe Haven, where the best Christmas surprises aren’t the ones under the tree.

Holly Gibson has one wish this Christmas season: to find her young niece’s father. And she’s traveled hundreds of miles to the small town of Safe Haven to make that wish come true. But the mysterious Cash O’Dwyer is nothing like she expected. Strong and kind, he makes her heart beat faster. And suddenly that little secret she’s keeping about her sister stirs up all kinds of guilt…

Cash is stunned—and more than a little wary—to discover he’s a father. Having a family of his own was never part of his plan…until sweet baby Penny and her fiercely independent aunt Holly arrive in town. Now he’s trimming trees and stuffing stockings for three. But when the ghosts of Cash’s past threaten the future of his fragile new family, he’ll do whatever it takes to be the father Penny needs—and the man Holly deserves—for more than just the holidays.

MY THOUGHTS  ON THIS BOOK

I really enjoyed this Christmas story. This is my first book from this author but it can easily be read as a stand alone. It’s not the everyday rich guy poor girl story but it goes a step above that. Having someone accuse him of being their childs father is not new to Cash. It’s happened before so he’s not buying it this time either. But what will the DNA show?

With characters as different as night and day, this book will have you turning its pages until you get to the end. I love Holly and her niece Penny. Holly’s sweet personality drew me in from the beginning, and Penny won me over immediately. She is so very adorable. Theres a lot going on here in the story, twists and turns that have you wondering. But Ms. McClain does an amazing job of weaving everything together for a beautiful ending. And ending I very much loved! I highly recommend this Christmas story for anyone looking for a sweet read during the Holiday Season.

COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS BY RAEANNE THAYNE

COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

BY RAEANNE THAYNE

Coming Home for Christmas

BOOK BLURB:

Hearts are lighter and wishes burn a little brighter at Christmas…

Elizabeth Hamilton has been lost. Trapped in a tangle of postpartum depression and grief after the death of her beloved parents, she couldn’t quite see the way back to her husband and their two beautiful kids…until a car accident stole away her memories and changed her life. And when she finally remembered the sound of little Cassie’s laugh, the baby powder smell of Bridger and the feel of her husband’s hand in hers, Elizabeth worried that they’d moved on without her. That she’d missed too much. That perhaps she wasn’t the right mother for her kids or wife for Luke, no matter how much she loved them.

But now, seven years later, Luke finds her in a nearby town and brings Elizabeth back home to the family she loves, just in time for Christmas. And being reunited with Luke and her children is better than anything Elizabeth could have imagined. As they all trim the tree and bake cookies, making new holiday memories, Elizabeth and Luke are drawn ever closer. Can the hurt of the past seven years be healed over the course of one Christmas season and bring the Hamiltons the gift of a new beginning?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

With Elizabeth dealing with depression, she felt she had to leave to protect her family, but in the mist if that, she suffers memory loss because if an accident. Being home with their son and daughter, Luke is angry that his wife just up and left, leaving him to care for their kids.

I enjoyed this story, though I felt there was a lot of repeating information the first half of the story, which got to be a little annoying at times. I reallt liked the characters, but Cassie could be a brat when she wanted to be. The story was a sad one, because of the issues Elizabeth had to go through that kept her away from her family. If only she or Luke would have thought to get her some help.

RaeAnne Thayne does a really nice job explaining depression as well as memory loss. This is two very difficult issues to deal with, and I think the excellent writing of this author smoothed out the issues in a way everyone can understand. I loved the Brambleberry House, though I’ve not read any of that series, I’m glad I was able to get a glimpse of what it was like staying there. There is so much more to this story, so much I want to tell but you need to read it for yourself. This is a nice, clean Christmas read, and I hope you will check it out and see for yourself how enjoyable it is.

A copy of this book was given to me by the author or publisher. I am not required to write a positive review. The opinions here in this review are totally mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

EXCERPT

Her throat closed with emotions, regret and sorrow and guilt. She had to clear them away to speak. “Why…why didn’t you try to have me legally declared dead?”

“Because I didn’t want to.” The raw emotion in his voice seared through her.

“Luke.”

His name. That was all she could manage through the tangle of emotions.

He gazed down at her, his expression almost…tortured.

One moment he was skewering her with his furious expression; the next he threw his arms around her, yanked her toward him and lowered his mouth to hers.

Shock held her motionless for only a moment. Then the sheer delicious glory of being in his arms again overwhelmed her. She wrapped her arms around him and returned his kiss with all the pent-up longing she had held inside her these long years of being alone.

The heat that had always been between them flared, wild and unrestrained. His mouth was hard on hers, fierce, demanding. Delicious. There was no trace of tenderness, only anger and loss, betrayal and sorrow and desire, all twisted together.

When he finally yanked his mouth away and released her as if she had scorched him, she stumbled backward, her knees drained of all strength. Her soul felt drained, too.

“Does that answer your question?” he asked, his voice raspy and low. “I never stopped hoping you would come back. Even when I was ninety-nine percent certain you were dead, that tiny one percent of hope wanted desperately to be wrong.”

He released a heavy breath and she watched in fascination as he tucked away any trace of emotion, becoming self-contained and expressionless once more.

“Do what you want to the house. Paint or don’t paint. I don’t care. This place means nothing to me anymore. The kids and I have moved on and are happy in our new house. I just want this one sold and out of my life.”

Like her. She meant nothing to him either, that wild, heated kiss notwithstanding. She did her best to blink back tears but was afraid he still saw them.

“I don’t know how much I can do in only one day but I’ll…I’ll try.”

He looked as if he wanted to argue but finally gave her one more long look and headed out the door.

After he left, Elizabeth touched her lips, the long-familiar taste lingering there. Oh, how she had missed him.

She still loved him.

Had never stopped.

She collapsed onto the sagging sofa, unable to contain all the emotions raging through her. She loved Luke and wanted what was best for him. That could never be her. Not then and especially not now, with all her baggage.

She might not be able to be part of his life or their children’s lives, but she could do one small thing for them. She could freshen up this house a little bit, make it more attractive to prospective buyers.

It was a small gift, but one she wanted desperately to give them.

In Love by Christmas (City by the Bay Stories #5) By Cari Lynn Webb Contemporary Romance Paperback & ebook, 384 Pages December 1st 2019 by Harlequin Heartwarming

This Christmas, two worlds collide

…under the mistletoe!

All Theo Taylor wants for Christmas is a profitable year-end and a flawless wedding for his sister. Hiring beautiful but unknown designer Josie Beck is a huge risk, especially when the Taylors’ reputation is at stake. Josie is sweet, kind and impossible to resist. But is Josie about to destroy Theo’s perfect wedding plan…or is she the answer to his heart’s secret Christmas wish?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I really enjoyed reading In Love by Christmas. It covers the Christmas holidays pretty well, with Thor being the CEO of his large family business, with no time to really spend with family because he is always working. To the vintage wedding dress found my his sister one she wants to wear in her own Christmas wedding. But there is a lot if family drama to weed through if Adriana wears this family heirloom. And can the family agree on anything? It seems as though they can not.

I like the fact that author Cari Lynn Webb writes clean Heartwarming stories, and especially this one we can read during the Holiday Season. I love these characters, they seem so real, and the story is so realistic, it’s like watching day to day lives of real people. I love the contrast of Thor and his busy company, and Josie and her small designer business. And I love Josie, she has a heart of gold, and money doesn’t drive her. She and Adriana would make a good team. And I dont want to spoil the story for you, there is much going on in this story, with Thors company, and Josie’s work, and you really need to read the story yourself to enjoy it’s fun and enjoyable entertainment. This is a really great story to read during the Christmas Season!

Excerpt

“So you’ll be busy.”

“Not so busy that I can’t take care of Dusty.” Why wasn’t he asking her to marry him? They loved each other, didn’t they?

“Well, then.” He placed his hands on his knees. “I guess we should get married. We can go to the courthouse or Wyatt can marry us.”

In all the years she dreamed about someone asking her to marry them, it wasn’t like this. She stood up, anger in every part of her body. “I’m not getting married at the courthouse or by Wyatt Carson.”

“Why not?” He was genuinely puzzled and that eased the anger inside her.

“Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of walking down the aisle on my dad’s arm in a white dress. My sisters and I used to play Bride. We’d walk down the hall with a pillowcase over our heads holding some fake flowers of our mom’s. Sometimes Bubba played dad. I want to get married in the church.”

He frowned. “Anamarie, I’m not into big weddings.”

“It would be just my family and your family.”

“I don’t have a family.”

“Excuse me. Who are the Rebels?”

“They’re my employers.”

He was putting up walls and she had to go at this another way. “Where do you spend your holidays?”

“At Miss Kate’s and on Christmas morning I go to Egan’s first and then to Miss Kate’s.”

“Really? I don’t know many people who go to their employers’ house on Christmas.”

“They’re good to me, but we’re not blood.”

“And that matters to you? Because I don’t see it mattering to the Rebels.” Why was it so hard for him to admit that he was a part of the Rebel family? The walls he had built around himself were getting thicker and she didn’t know if she could get through to make him understand how much she loved him and how much the Rebels loved him.

She sat on the coffee table again, giving him a few minutes. As the clock ticked away, he said nothing. She finally asked, “What are you going to do about Dusty?”

“I can’t let him go into foster care.”

“Then do something about it.”

After a moment, he said, “Okay, I guess we’ll do the wedding thing you want.” His voice held a tinge of resentment that didn’t sit well with her.

She got up from the coffee table. “I’m going to pack my things, but I won’t leave until the morning. I want to say goodbye to Dusty.”

“What? Wait?” As she walked by his chair, he caught her hand. “What are you talking about?”

“I don’t want to feel as if I’m forcing you into marriage. It has to be something you want, too, and clearly you don’t.”

“I’m just trying to get this right.”

“Well, you got it wrong.” She took a deep breath. “Rico, when a man proposes to a woman, she wants to hear more than we should get married. I need more if I’m going to spend my life with you. And you seem very hesitant to offer that.”

“What do you mean? You know I love you. I’ve been crazy about you for years.”

The magic words would have been wonderful if he hadn’t tacked on you know.

She placed her hand over her heart. “I love you, Rico, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

He got to his feet, still holding her hand. “The only person I’ve ever loved is my great-grandmother and it’s hard for me to recognize those emotions after everything that has happened to me. But I know that I love you. I love you more than I’ve loved anyone in my whole life. Will you marry me and help me make a home for Dusty?”

ABOUT THIS BOOK

She gifted him with a daughter

He stunned her with the truth

When Tanner Bridwell discovers he’s a father, he gains some much needed hope. A year ago, Tanner lost his livelihood as a champion bull rider, and—more important—Jewel Saunders, the love of his life. Now this cowboy wants to do right by his family. But first he must reveal a stunning secret that will send Jewel and his beloved daughter either packing…or into his arms forever!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

A bull riding scandal ruined Jewel and Tanners life, and they never expected to see each other again. But even when their jobs brought them back together, it was so much between them, it would never work out. But then there was this little surprise that Jewel had kept from Tanner.

Another sweet heartwarming story from author Cathy McDavid. Both characters were right at home around a barn with the horses, bull riding, barrel racing lessons. I enjoyed all of the full details about the horses, and the different tricks they could do. Even down to the importance of checking out everything thoroughly before the race or practices begin. As well as how there are scandals in the sports too, though it’s sad to ruin a career over something so stupid. There were so many more vivid details that will get you into the horseracing sport, and I appreciate learning a bit about the sport.

The characters seemed so read to me, as they went about their everyday lives. And as the story unfolds, it did well to keep my interest. There was enough going on in the story till the very end too keep me reading. It’s nice to read stories that talk of getting ready for the Christmas Holiday, and the families getting together. These were more scenes that I enjoyed. The author clearly researched her story and did a very nice job of creating this story. If you are looking for a nice, clean Christmas read, this is one you will enjoy.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Joy left Indian Lake a decade ago a d hasn’t looked back, except to fly her grandfather to New York to be with her on Thanksgiving. But after his passing away, Joy had no choice but to go back and plan his funeral and take care of business. She wasn’t really expecting to spend time with her high school sweetheart Adam.

Home for Christmas was just the right book to get me in the mood for Christmas. I really enjoyed following Joy and her friends as they prepared to reopen the old greenhouses Joy’s grandfather loved so much. It was interesting  to learn everything involved to reopen the greenhouses. And I had no idea the process of getting enough poinsettias to actually run a greenhouse during the Christmas season.

Author Christine Lanigan does an amazing job of developing her characters, each one unique go the story in their own way. The plot was easy to follow, and well developed as well, and I didn’t want to put the book down for long periods of time. I wanted to find out what happens next. I’ve read several books by Catherine Lanigan from the Harlequin’s Heartwarming and I look forward to what she has next for her readers. I love that her books are clean read, and I know I can enjoy them. If you are looking for good Christmas stories to read during the Holiday season, this is a really great one to check out.

A festive reunion…

…with an unexpected gift!

When Pepper Kane’s home and bakery are burned down in the weeks before Christmas, billionaire CEO Simon Ross—the man she spent one unforgettable night with—comes to the rescue! Pepper knows this playboy doesn’t do relationships, but staying with him in his penthouse and caring for an abandoned puppy, their spark is rekindled… And then comes a festive surprise that shocks them both: she’s carrying his baby!

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is quite the Christmas story, with a little surprise thrown in to make it a bit of a surprise. I enjoyed Pepper’s character. She was determined to make a living opening a bakery, and she put everything into it, making it a success, then it was all gone in one night. Simon Ross wasn’t as arrogant as I figured he would be, and it was generous that he let Pepper stay with him, as a roommate only, using his kitchen to bake enough bake goods to make her Christmas orders. Ross was really a nice guy, someone who had a rough childhood, with an alcoholic and abusive dad. He and Pepper had a lot in common, as far as their past hurts. This is a nice sweet read, it only took a few hours to read. Why not check it out.
