MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is a book written by Kara Tippetts, written by Kara Tippetts about her life as a mom of four, and living with stage four cancer. How does she do it? She tells it all in her book, The Hardest Peace. Ms. Tippetts lives her life every day in the grace of her Lord and Savior. Is it easy? Not in the least,. In this book, Ms. Tippets explores questions of life with rare beauty and honesty. This is not a watered down book. It is true to life of this special mom. This is really not an easy read. No book is when talking about a married women with four kids to raise living with a stage four cancer that may take her life. If you are going through any life threatening disease, this is a wonderful book for you to read to find answers, and help you deal with what life throws at you every day. Ms. Tippett uses Bible Scriptures to back up everything that is in her book.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Cecily Faire carries the shame of her past wherever she treads, Nathaniel Stanton has a secret of his own. Two people, two different secrets, both wanting desperately to guard those secrets, for fear of what would happen. Cecily was a really sweet young lady with a horrible and sad past, because of bad decisions on her part, and because of a dad who just didn’t care. Nathaniel was a very complex person, keeping to himself, but doing the best job he could at Willowgrove Hall, despite the rudeness of its mistress. This is one off those stories that is difficult to read because life is just not fair to either Cecily or Nathaniel. But with that said, I love, loved this story. I thoroughly enjoyed Sarah Ladd’s first two books in this series, but this one was my favorite of the three! The difficult situations faced by the two main characters will have readers engulfed in the pages of this book to see what the outcome is! The characters are so very believable, and the scenes so real, after I finished the book I thought of these characters as real people. I couldn’t get the out of my mind. Cecily and Nathaniel’s story is one that can be enjoyed by anyone, especially if you enjoy historical fiction. The Darbury, England, 1819 setting and the vivid descriptions of each scene takes you there in a real imaginable way. I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book to enjoy for yourself.

Hugh purchases a brickmaking operation from a Civil War widow and her daughter, but it’s Ewan who gets the business up and running again. Besides, Ewan has resolved he’ll focus on making the brickmaking operation enough of a success that he can become a partner in the business and be able to afford to bring his sisters over from Scotland.

But when Hugh signs a bad business deal, all Ewan’s hard work may come to naught. As his plans begin to crumble, Laura reveals something surprising. She and her mother may have a way to save the brickworks, and in turn Ewan may have another shot at winning Laura’s heart.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

When Hugh and his wife decides to move to West Virginia and find a brickmaking business, Ewan McKay decides to travels with them from northern Scotland to West Virginia, promising to trade his skills in the clay business for financial assistance from his uncle Hugh. But Uncle Hugh wasn’t the best business man, and he had more fun in the bars drinking and gambling that he did working. So, that’s what he did, when he could keep his wife from finding out. Another thing was that Uncle Hugh never read a contract before he signed it, and he had more trouble than he bargained for when he didn’t properly read the contract he signed for the new brickyard. Of course Ewan had to deal with all of the trouble. But that wasn’t so bad because he had the lovely Laura, the former owners beautiful daughter to work with. Laura had promised to help with the book keeping since that is what she did for her dad’s business. But then Laura and Ewan couldn’t deny the attraction between the two of them, and how would his work out with Uncle Hugh?

This is the first Judith Miller book I have read in a while, and I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this story. Its not a fast pace story that keeps you on the edge of your seats, but it is a fun, relaxing, enjoyable story that you just can’t put down. I kept getting so frustrated at Hugh’s ornery wife, she was just a pain to read about, and Hugh was as well most of the time. I was hoping Ewan would end up with the brick business, but maybe that will happen in another book!?! And Ewan and Laura was just suppose to be together, no matter there social standing! I loved this story and I encourage you to pick up your copy to enjoy as well!

The Mason Jar

by James Russell Lingerfelt

The Mason JarThe Mason Jar

What if your old college roommate called, raving about a book someone sent her, calling it the most beautiful book she’s ever read? “But,” she said, “it’s about you.” The author is your college ex.

In The Mason Jar, Clayton Fincannon is a Tennessee farm boy raised at the feet of his grandfather. He and his grandfather leave letters for each other in a Mason jar on his grandfather’s desk—letters of counsel and affirmation. When Clayton attends college in Southern California, he meets and falls in love with a dark debutante from Colorado. However, when an unmentioned past resurrects in her life and she leaves, Clayton is left with unanswered questions.

Clayton goes on to serve as a missionary in Africa, while he and his grandfather continue their tradition of writing letters. When Clayton returns home five years later to bury his grandfather, he searches for answers pertaining to the loss of the young woman he once loved. Little does Clayton know, the answers await him in the broken Mason jar.

A story about a girl who vanished, a former love who wrote a book about her, and a reunion they never imagined.

Written for the bruised and broken, The Mason Jar is an inspirational romance that brings hope to people who have experienced disappointment in life due to separation from loved ones. With a redemptive ending that encourages us to love again and written in the fresh, romantic tones of Nicholas Sparks, The Mason Jar interweaves the imagery of Thoreau with the adventures and climatic family struggles common to Dances with Wolves, A River Runs Through It, and Legends of the Fall.

My THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I didn’t know what this book would be, but I like the title, so I wanted to review it. I have to say it was really difficult for me to get into the book at first, and then I started to enjoy it more. It was nice reading a romance with a man’s point of view too. This is A story about a girl who vanished, a former love who wrote a book about her, and a reunion they never imagined. If you have experienced tragedies, disappointments, been separated from a long lost love in your life, you will enjoy this book, and will find many sweet helps in how to deal with the things happening. James does very well in writing descriptive scenes and advise that will help, and that you will enjoy as a fiction.

Revell Presents Thunder by Bonnie Calhoun

Thunder by Bonnie Calhoun

The Time of Sorrows is long past.
The future of Selah and her people is shrouded in mystery.
And the clock is ticking.

Hidden in the tall grasses along a shore littered with the rusted metal remnants of a once-great city, a hunter crouches. It is the eve of her eighteenth Birth Remembrance and high time she proves to herself and her brothers that she can stand on her own two feet. Selah Rishon Chavez waits not for game but for one of the small boats that occasionally crash against the desolate shoreline. Because inside one of these boats she will find her quarry–a Lander.

These people from an unknown land across the ocean are highly prized by the Company and bring a good price–especially if they keep the markings they arrive with.

Everything falls to pieces when the Lander whom Selah catches is stolen by her brothers, and Selah wakes the next morning to find the Lander’s distinctive mark has appeared on her own flesh. Once the hunter, Selah is now one of the hunted, and she knows only one person who can help her–Bodhi Locke, the Lander her brothers hope to sell in the Mountain.

With evocative descriptions of a strange new world that combines elements of disturbing scientific advances, devious political conspiracy, and survival in a hostile wilderness, Bonnie S. Calhoun weaves a captivating tale of a society more like our own than we may want to admit. From the tension-laced first scene to the captivating last page, Thunder is an epic journey into the heart of humankind that explores how far we are willing to go when we’re pushed to the limit.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bonnie S. Calhoun loves to write, but it doesn’t make her happy unless there are the three Bs: body count, blood, and blowing things up. She also has mad skills at coding HTML and website design. Bonnie lives in a log cabin in the woods with fifteen acres and a pond full of bass. But she’d rather buy fish, ready to eat and under plastic, at the grocery store. She shares her domain with a husband, a dog, and two cats, all of whom think she is waitstaff.

Becoming Bea | The Courtships of Lancaster County series

Can Bea and Ben Turn Rivalry Into Romance?

Beatrice Zook knows God wants her to learn patience toward others. When assisting a family overwhelmed by triplets proves surprisingly successful, her confidence in dealing with others, both young and old, grows.

One person she’ll never be able to find peace with though is Ben Rupp. They’ve known each other forever, and Ben understands precisely how to antagonize her. What neither she nor Ben will admit is that beneath all their bickering, attraction awaits. When friends decide to try and bring the couple together, will the pair be able to find true love? Or will they damage their relationship beyond repair?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I have read all of the books in this series, and I so much enjoyed visiting all of the familiar characters. In this book, Bea has the opportunity to help a family with triplets, which changed her life. And then there is Ben, that turned up in her life once more. The Ben that she dated before, and they didn’t exactly end on good terms. Will being together this time change their feelings for each other?

I loved reading this book, it felt like coming back home with the characters, and we see Bea, and also Ben in a more personal way. And they both annoyed me at times because of the way they acted around each other. Like small kids that couldn’t get along! And the romance here is pretty subdued but all in all, it is a good read and I think you will enjoy it. And I encourage you to pick up a copy of the first three books in the series to read as well. Though this is ok for a stand alone read, it is much more enjoyable if you have read the other stories first.

Strong-willed and beautiful, debutante Katherine Ramsey feels ready to take the London social season by storm, and she must. A Promise to Protect by Patricia Bradley From Revell

A Promise to Protect by Patricia Bradley

In a steamy small town riddled with broken promises, one woman’s secret could change everything.

Acting Sheriff Ben Logan hasn’t heard from Leigh Somerall in a very long time, but it doesn’t mean he can get her–or their whirlwind romance of ten years ago–out of his head. When she calls out of the blue, it is with a strange request to protect her brother, Tony. But all too soon, Ben is charged with a different task–protecting Leigh from the people after her brother. With Leigh doing everything in her power to avoid Ben, it’s no easy task. And the secret she is keeping just may change their lives forever.

“A taut story of mistakes and betrayal, a mother’s fierce love, revenge and danger–and the redeeming wonders of faith and love.”–Lorena McCourtney, author of the Cate Kinkaid Files and the Ivy Malone Mysteries

“Old secrets, second chances at love, and a skillfully crafted small-town suspense. You will fall in love with Ben and Leigh and cheer them on as they fight for their happy ending. I’m making room on my shelf for all of Patricia Bradley’s novels!”–Susan May Warren, bestselling and award-winning author of When I Fall in Love

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Sometimes situations get so mixed up that its difficult to figure out who’s who or what’s been done! And this story is just like that. Ben  is determined to find out the story behind his dad’s death, and was glad Tony has information that may help him. But now Tony has been shot dying and has ask Ben to take care of his wife Leigh, which will be no easy task either. It is difficult for Ben to protect Leigh because they are both headstrong and butt heads. Not to mention the secrets she is keeping from him. And what about his secrets? And then there is the attraction to each other!

I love books like this because I keep trying to figure out what is going on, and there are so many twists and turns that I can’t. By the time I think I have it figured out, something else happens! The characters are really believable and realistic and your interested is sure kept throughout this book because you don’t want to put it down! If you are looking for a fast pace, thriller for a little excitement and entertainment, this book would be for you! I encourage you to check it out.

MY THOUGTS ON THIS BOOK

The first thing I loved about this book is that it is based on a true story. Though I would have been horrified if I had know someone who actually went through this horrible situation. And I hope this story will make people think before they trust anyone on the internet, not just someone in another country. But Mallory was so determined to save a life, that she would do anything to accomplish her goal. I thought Mallory acted so very immature in actually going through with marrying someone in another country, in name only, just to save his daughter. She knew nothing about this man, and didn’t even have him thoroughly check out before she went traipsing off across the world to marry the guy. I’m not sure if I see her as the heroin in this story or not. I think Tate is more the hero, because he loved Mallory enough to go after her, despite the dangers he could face.

Beth Wiseman is one of the best author’s I’ve read, and I love every book she writes. They all just seem to get better and better!! CFBA Presents Quilted by Christmas by Jodie Bailey

This week, the

Christian Fiction Blog Alliance

is introducing

Quilted by Christmas

Abingdon Press (October 21, 2014)

by

Jodie BaileyABOUT THE AUTHOR:

A note from the Author: Well, I’m a regular ol’ person. Who just happens to write. A lot. Probably more than I should. I firmly believe that God created me to be a writer. From the time I learned how to string letters together into words I’ve been making up stories. Believe me… I have a very rich imagination. I used to think I was weird; now I know God just put me together that way. I can’t even watch commercials without expanding them into stories in my head. I am humbled and honored all at the same time that God looked down from heaven on me and said, “Jodie, do what you love.” Wow… how awesome is that?

I have always loved to write. I have stories that I wrote when I was in first grade. I used to sit at my grandmother’s yellow electric typewriter for hours, banging out my own little stories. When I was eleven, she bought me a typewriter of my own (It was 1984, okay?) and I would write and write on it. I wrote stories out by hand, and they ran to hundreds of pages. I got my first computer when I was eighteen, and the first thing I did was write a story on it. I wrote for school. I wrote for fun. I wrote for my friends. I’d get them on the phone and make up stories for them. (I earned the nickname “Dreamweaver” for that one. Nobody calls me that anymore, but it still stands as the coolest nickname I ever had.)

ABOUT THE BOOK

Taryn McKenna believes she’s easy to forget. Abandoned by her parents and left behind when her high school sweetheart joined the army, she vows to never love again and throws herself into her love for the outdoors and the pursuit of a college degree—something no one else in her family has ever accomplished. Her goal, as a young teacher in the hills of North Carolina, is to leave a legacy in the lives of the middle-schoolers she teaches. When Taryn’s grandmother Jemma, the only other person who ever held her close, has a heart attack that reveals a fatal medical condition, Taryn is corralled into helping Grandma work on a final project—an Irish chain quilt that tells the story of her history and the love Jemma knows is out there for Taryn. As the pieces of the quilt come together, Taryn begins to see her value. Can she learn to believe that God will never leave her behind even though others have?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I am loving these Quilt stories from Abingdon Press! And I love Christmas, so this book was a fun one to review. Taryn and Justin were highschool sweethearts, but went their own way, and it was years later before they connected again. When Taryn’s grandmother was hospitalized, she ask Taryn to finish the Christmas quilt. Would this couple feel sparks again after years of being apart?

This was such a sweet story, and I really enjoyed reading about this special quilt! The characters were precious and the story was so believable. This is a wonderful Christmas story to read during the Holidays. So pick up your copy now!

Litfuse Presents…..The Sea House by Elizabeth Gifford

Litfuse Presents…..

The Sea House

by Elizabeth Gifford

The Sea House

Scotland, 1860.

Reverend Alexander Ferguson, naive and newly-ordained, takes up his new parish, a poor, isolated patch on the Hebridean island of Harris. His time on the island will irrevocably change the course of his life, but the white house on the edge of the dunes keeps its silence long after Alexander departs. It will be more than a century before the Sea House reluctantly gives up its secrets. Ruth and Michael buy the grand but dilapidated building and begin to turn it into a home for the family they hope to have. Their dreams are marred by a shocking discovery. The tiny bones of a baby are buried beneath the house; the child’s fragile legs are fused together – a mermaid child. Who buried the bones? And why? Ruth needs to solve the mystery of her new home – but the answers to her questions may lie in her own past.

Based on a real nineteenth-century letter to The Times in which a Scottish clergyman claimed to have seen a mermaid, The Sea House is an epic, sweeping tale of loss and love, hope and redemption, and how we heal ourselves with the stories we tell.

It governs her romantic relationships, friendships, family ties, career choices, and personal sense of well-being and value. And when her Code is out of balance, her life is out of balance.

Drawing from her personal faith and from her experience in the business world, Sophia Nelson explores 20 keys to unlocking the life you want, such as:

· Knowing your innate value and worth
· Teaching people how to treat you
· Making peace with your past
· Learning to lead from within
· Lifting other women as you climb

The Woman Code helps women to honor themselves while navigating the demands of work, home, family, and friendship. It not only calls on women to practice purpose in their lives, it shows them how to do it with grace.

“We all encounter chapters in our lives that test us to our core. Sophia has put together a remarkable Code for living life that will enable modern women to face those tests and not just survive them but thrive despite them.”–Sherri Shepherd, cohost of ABC’s The View

Women are powerful yet peaceful. We are strong yet sensitive. We are listeners yet we lead. We are resilient yet we remember. We are sacred yet sensual. We are wives and we are mothers. We are single and we are caretakers. We are spiritual and we are sisters.

There is something about women that makes us uniquely connected and, beyond that, simply powerful! In The Woman Code, author, journalist, and TV personality Sophia Nelson shows women that everything we need to lead the lives we want is already inside us. Nelson helps women create a road map of timeless values coupled with modern-day approaches to help us face the challenges of our time.

It is time for women to return to a universal Code of personal and collective conduct, a
Code that will allow us to fulfill all we are born to be.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I think this book is more for the business women, but there are many things that any women can use in her everyday life. Sophia Nelson breaks this book down into codes, and explores the 20 different keys she feels are important to unlocking the life you want. Ms. Nelson explains the importance of making a way for yourself as a women, and become the strongest women you can be. And with the study guide in the back of the book, this would be a really good group study for a group of women, so each person can reflect on what they understand from reading this book.

Breathing Room by Leeana Tankersley

INVITATION TO BREATHE

Catastrophe or no catastrophe, if you are unhinged, disoriented, suffocating, or otherwise generally dragging, I’m inviting you to pull up a chair at this table . . .

Breathing Room is a beautiful release of self-condemnation, a discovery of the rest that comes when we offer ourselves some space to breathe. Vulnerable and winsome, Leeana Tankersley shows you how to stop beating yourself up, how to be radically on your own team, and how to truly experience grace. If you’ve been putting on a strong front and yet are secretly coming apart, you’ll find in these pages a trusted friend.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Breathing Room is a really wonderful book for those who find themselves into so many things in life that you just don’t have time to breath! So many women do this, with being a wife, mom, working, volunteering at church and school, its very easy to put your name in too many pots and using up too much time , so that you have no time just for you! I like the way Ms. Tankersley leads us to let go of some of the unnecessary things on our schedule and having time to do things just for ourselves. And she tells it in such a way that you can understand easily what she is trying to teach! If you are one of these ladies, I would encourage you to pick up a copy of this book and read it, study it, and take the advise of this wonderful author!

Keepers of the CovenantKeepers of the Covenant, Book Two in the Restoration Chronicles

The Old Testament Comes to Thrilling Life in the Latest from Lynn Austin

In one life-changing moment, the lives of the Jewish exiles in Babylon are thrown into confusion and despair when a decree arrives from the king’s palace in Susa. It calls for the annihilation of every Jewish man, woman, and child throughout the empire on the thirteenth day of Adar, in less than one year. Ezra, a quiet Jewish scholar and teacher, is suddenly called upon to lead the community as they seek God for a reason for this catastrophe. When a second decree arrives, authorizing them to fight back, Ezra is thrust into the role of military leader as they defend themselves against their enemies.

When the battles come to an end, Ezra’s brother Jude is dead and Ezra is required by the Law he so diligently studies to marry Jude’s widow, Devorah, and provide an heir. Fatherhood changes Ezra, and he asks God to make a way for him and the other exiles to leave Babylon for good and return to Jerusalem. His prayers are answered and the exiles move to Judea to revitalize worship at the temple–but the fight to keep God’s Law is never easy. As more and more of his community are tempted, a new battle emerges…this one for the survival of God’s covenant and the souls of His chosen faithful.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

For those who think the Old Testament is boring, well, you haven’t read any of Lynn Austin’s Biblical fiction! Keepers of the Covenant will keep you on your toes as you read about this historical story taken from events in the Bible! I was totally consumed as I read each page of this book! To read of the events that took place of the Jews returning to Jerusalem under Ezra’s leadership with thrilling indeed! And the historical facts that took place during that time was amazingly interesting! Even though I have read this story from the Bible, I was so excited to read this same story that author Lynn Austin comes up with through her own research and studying. As I read this book, I couldn’t help but think about how the people lived back then, the personal details of their life, and the life they lived on their journey to Jerusalem. It is so muc

A Love Undone

WaterBrook Press (September 9, 2014)

by

Cindy WoodsmallABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Cindy Woodsmall is a New York Times and CBA best-selling author who has written fifteen (and counting!) works of fiction and one of nonfiction. She and her dearest Old Order Amish friend, Miriam Flaud, coauthored the nonfiction, Plain Wisdom: An Invitation into an Amish Home and the Hearts of Two Women. Cindy’s been featured on ABC Nightline and the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and has worked with National Geographic on a documentary concerning Amish life. In June of 2013, the Wall Street Journal listed Cindy as one of the top three Amish fiction writers.

She’s won Fiction Book of the Year, Reviewer’s Choice Awards, Inspirational Reader’s Choice Contest, as well as one of Crossings’ Best Books of the Year. She’s been a finalist for the prestigious Christy, Rita, and Carol Awards, Christian Book of the Year, and Christian Retailers Choice Awards.

Cindy and her husband reside near the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains in their now empty nest.

(Since that last line sounds sad and bare, I thought I’d add an “epilogue” of sorts. Our two oldest sons are married and live only a couple of miles from my empty nest, and below are my three adorable grandchildren! ♥)

ABOUT THE BOOK

A husband and son abandoned to forge a path alone.

A young woman who sacrificed her dreams.

How will the God of grace and hope help them find their way?

At nineteen years old, Old Order Amish Jolene Keim was on the brink of happily-ever-after when everything changed, stealing the future she expected and burdening her with an unbearable decision. For the next ten years, Jolene throws herself into family life—and then she meets Andy Fisher. The horse trainer and father to a sweet nine year-old challenges her and holds up a mirror to issues Jolene has been unwilling to face.

Andy is cautious about his deepening friendship with Jolene, but he believes she knows the truth about him – that he is a grass widower. As a man whose wife has abandoned him six years past, he is unable to divorce or remarry according to the Amish ways. Andy has wrestled with God concerning his reality, and he had found peace with the solitary future facing him…until he met Jolene.

As Andy and Jolene find themselves confronted by difficult choices, will they trust in God’s guidance—or will the allure of their deepening friendship only lead to further temptation?

If you would like to read the first chapter of A Love Undone, go HERE.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK!

Jolene was anxiously awaiting her marriage, only two weeks to go. But that all changed one rainy night when her mother was called out to deliver a baby and both her mom and dad never came home. In order to keep the family together, Jolene did the only thing she knew to do, she put her life into taking care of her siblings. But that meant no marriage because her fiancé wasn’t willing take on Jolene’s family to raise. After 10 years, her siblings started getting married, and Jolene meets Andy Fisher, and the sparks started flying. But Andy had problems of his own, so there was no way the two could make a go of it.

This is the most amazing story! At first, I wasn’t so sure, because it was kind of slow and sad for me, but then everything started happening and I couldn’t put this book down! Cindy Woodsmall is an amazingly awesome writer, and A Love Undone is one of my favorite books she has written yet! My heart hurt so bad for Jolene, having to give up her marriage, and I thought she did really well taking care of her brothers and sisters. It was time for her to think about herself when she met Andy Fisher. And it was difficult to read about his wife leaving him years before and he couldn’t marry again because that was the Amish way. But in her amazing storytelling, Cindy pulls this story together, giving readers and ending that will be both a blessing and honor to read! I hope there will me more about this family in later books. If you enjoy Amish stories, you must read this one!! I am sure you will find it awesome!

Dr. Richard Furman is a vascular surgeon with decades of experience. But his personal journey into living younger longer began with a tight pair of pants. ABOUT THIS BOOK

Five Stories of Untamed Love in a Wild State

by Cathy Marie Hake, Kimberley Comeaux

Enjoy two series of romances under one cover from authors Kimberley Comeaux and Cathy Marie Hake. First head to Springton, Texas, where two Texas belles—a pretty outcast and a shy nurse—find rattlesnakes easier to lasso than the hearts of the men they desire. Then join the Gregor brothers from Scotland—doctor, cobbler, lawman—as they settle in the Wild West, seeking wives to help them live out a legacy of faith that their father rooted in them. Watch as God’s love unfolds a grand design into each life.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I really loved The Lone Star Collection! The five stories in this book is broken down to two authors. Kimberley Comeaux writes the first two book series, and Cathy Marie Hake finishes with a three book series. Both of these authors offer a good bit of humor in their books, making them more fun and enjoyable to read.

Ms. Comeaux wrote the first series of two novellas, One More Chance, and Courtin’ Patience. These two stories center around two ladies, Rachel Branigan and Patience Primrose, who found love, even though they were not looking for it. And the second three series novellas was written by Cathy Marie Hack, centering around three brothers who walked right into the love of just the right ladies. Both of these series are so wonderfully written and so much fun to read. All of the comical scenes had me laughing throughout the entire book! If you enjoy short stories that are historical, fun and entertaining, you will love this book.

Deceived by Irene Hannon from Revell

Deceived

by Irene Hannon

deceived

ABOUT THIS BOOK

A grieving mother. A mysterious child. And a dedicated PI who’s determined to solve the puzzle.

For three years, Kate Marshall has been mourning the loss of her husband and four-year-old son in a boating accident. But when she spots a familiar-looking child on a mall escalator, she’s convinced it’s her son. With police skeptical of her story, she turns to private investigator Connor Sullivan for help. As the former Secret Service agent digs into the case, the boating “accident” begins to look increasingly suspicious. But if Kate’s son is alive, someone is intent on keeping him hidden–and may go to lethal lengths to protect a sinister secret.
As Irene Hannon’s many fans have come to expect, Deceived is filled with complex characters, unexpected twists, and a riveting plotline that accelerates to an explosive finish.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

When Kate heard the blond headed boy at the mall say ‘poppysicle’ she called his name, Kevin. And Kevin looked straight at her, or was it Kevin? But Kevin had been killed three years earlier in a boating accident along with her husband. I felt so bad for Kate. She had finally gotten her life together again, and seeing this little boy who looked so much like her son brings it all back again. Since the local police didn’t find Kate’s story credible, she resorts to big time PI’s at Phoenix, Inc. And Conner Sullivan was the PI who takes her case. Tall, dark and movie star handsome, Conner Sullivan. And Conner actually listened to her, thinking it may be a possibility that this little boy at the mall could be Kate’s son Kevin. But it was a long shot. And as the investigation progresses, so does the attraction between Kate and Conner.

I think that’s enough to tell about this book. I love Irene Hannon, and this is one of her best. I highly recommend this to all of you who enjoy a good on suspense/thriller!
