But nothing could prepare her for competing against the handsome charmer she’s tried to forget since grief tore them apart.
One chance for each woman to change her life . . . but will love be the real prize?
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Chance of Loving You is a collection of three different stories by three of my favorite authors! For Love of Money by Terri Blackstock , The Recipe by Candace Calvert and Hook, Line, and Sinker by Susan May Warren, each are about different couples. I loved all three of these romance stories, and I especially liked that I could read each one in a setting. The characters were likeable, and believable and I the plot was interesting enough to keep me reading each story without putting the book down.
I am now looking forward to the next books from each of these amazing authors. I received this book from Tyndale House to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Two murders have rocked the city of Houston. Are they the work of a serial killer, or is a copycat trying to get away with murder?
That is the question facing Special Agent Bethany Sanchez, who is eager for her new assignment in violent crimes but anxious about meeting her new partner. Special Agent Thatcher Graves once arrested her brother, and he has a reputation for being a maverick. Plus, their investigative styles couldn’t be more opposite: he operates on instinct, while she goes by the book.
When hot leads soon fizzle out, their differences threaten to leave them deadlocked. But an attempt on their lives turns up the heat and brings them closer together, and a third victim might yield the clue that will help them zero in on a killer. This could be the case of their careers . . . if they can survive long enough to solve it.

The pastoral charm of small-town Watervalley, Tennessee, can be deceptive, as young Dr. Luke Bradford discovers when he’s caught in the fallout of a decades-old conflict.
After a rocky start as Watervalley’s only doctor, Luke Bradford has decided to stay in town, honoring the three-year commitment he made to pay off his medical school debts. But even as his friendships with the quirky townsfolk deepen, and he pursues a romance with lovely schoolteacher Christine Chambers, several military veterans’ emotional wounds trigger anger and unrest in Watervalley.
At the center of the clash is the curmudgeonly publisher of the local newspaper, Luther Whitmore. Luther grew up in Watervalley, but he returned from combat in Vietnam a changed man. He fenced in beautiful Moon Lake, posting “Keep Out” notices at the beloved spot, and provokes the townspeople with his incendiary newspaper.
As Luke struggles to understand Luther’s past, and restore harmony in Watervalley, an unforeseen crisis shatters a relationship he values dearly. Suddenly Luke must answer life’s toughest questions about service, courage, love, and sacrifice.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
This is the first book I’ve read by Jeff High and I enjoyed it very much. I enjoy his writing style and humor throughout the book. The characters were well developed and believable. Dr. Luke was an interesting and likeable character, his curiosity kept me interested in the book. He had a way with the neighbors that made them like him. A lot of secrets caused tension, which caused problems between the community and the plain community that was nearby. I liked the ending, the author did an amazing job of pulling the story together for an heartwarming end. I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy a good, relaxing read.
I received this book from Litfuse to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.

Thirteen years ago, Lisbeth made an impossible decision—leave third-century Carthage and her husband Cyprian behind for good. She knew it was to protect her daughter Maggie, so Lisbeth gathered the strength to move on with her life.
All these years, Lisbeth has thrown herself into her work and raising her headstrong daughter, all to live up to the promise she made to Cyprian. But Maggie is sick of being protected. In an act of teenage rebellion Maggie decides to do what her mother can’t—secretly returning to the third century on a quest to bring her father back, leaving Lisbeth no choice but to follow.
With Maggie’s surprise arrival in Carthage, chaos ensues. She finds her grandmother on trial for murder and attempts to save her, but instead the diversion sparks a riot that nearly destroys the plagued city. Only one thing will appease the wrath of the new proconsul of Carthage: the death of the instigator.
Will Lisbeth arrive in time to save her daughter from the clutches of Rome? How can God possibly redeem such a slew of unwise decisions and deep regrets? Filled with heart-wrenching twists and riveting action, Valley of Decision brings the romantic adventure epic, The Carthage Chronicles, to an electrifying conclusion.
Lynne Gentry has written for numerous publications. She is a professional acting coach, theater director, and playwright. Lynne is an inspirational speaker and dramatic performer who loves spending time with her family and medical therapy dog.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Valley of Decision was a really nice and fitting ending to this three book series. We get a closer look at Lisbeth and her daughter Maggie, and watch her strong willed Maggie grow up. This book was very well written, and the characters are real and people you would like to know. My only problem was trying to stay focused going back and forth between the third and 20th century. But the romance, the wonderful love story between Lisbeth and Cyprian and the decisions, good and bad that had to be made, along with the many twist and turns throughout, you will not want to put this book down.

Elizabeth YountABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Elizabeth Byler Younts is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers. She is an Air Force officer’s wife and a homeschooling mom with two young daughters. She makes her home wherever her family is stationed. Elizabeth was Amish as a child and after her parents left the church she still grew up among her Amish family and continues to speak Pennsylvania Dutch.
ABOUT THE BOOK
As World War II draws to a close, nurse Christine falls in love with roguish Amish boy Eli and must choose between a new, uncertain life in the Amish faith or face the judgment of a conservative postwar American society for her past mistakes.
It’s 1945, and Christine Freeman is a nurse at Hudson River State Hospital, where she works alongside members of a Civilian Public Service unit. Eli is one of the conscies—conscientious objectors to the war—and he is doing his best to become a man of character instead of the immature heartbreaker he used to be back home in his Amish community.
Christine and Eli are friendly, but when an old acquaintance, Jack, returns home from the war, Christine’s world is violently turned upside down. Eli, heartbroken to see his friend so hurt, offers her an escape within his Amish community. Despite her misgivings, Christine is fully embraced by Eli’s community. She slowly begins to feel valued and loved as she learns the Amish way of life.
Christine finds herself falling for Eli. But soon, the abusive Jack discovers Christine in her Amish hideaway and starts causing trouble for the quiet community. Christine can’t see herself becoming Amish, and she knows that if Eli leaves the church to be with her, he will be shunned. Will she escape Jack and possibly have to give up the one thing she holds most dear, or will she follow her heart and promise to cherish the Amish man who loves her?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
I loved this book! It is my first book by Elizabeth Yount, and I was pleasant surprised! This is an Amish story with a twist that makes it different from most Amish books I have read! I enjoyed getting to know Christine and Eli, and their time at the hospital and back home in Eli’s small Amish community! This is such a special heartwarming story, and it is one that I highly recommend!

It wasn’t easy to move back to the Old Order Mennonite community from which quiet, responsible Suzanne Zimmerman was shamefully sent away as a pregnant teen. Returning twenty years later to take care of her mother, Suzanne and Alexa—the daughter she raised as her own—have spent months rebuilding relationships with her family.
Now with the upcoming wedding of their biological daughter, Suzanne and Paul find themselves drawn to one another once again—but with new challenges to face. They have been single parents with painful pasts. Can Paul and Suzanne find the strength to rebuild the loving relationship that was torn apart by their teen pregnancy so long ago?
Suzanne must also let go of Alexa as she heads back to Indianapolis to visit friends–and as her chance to find her birth parents. Leaving the bed-and-breakfast in Suzanne’s apprehensive hands, Alexa embarks on a journey that will certainly change her life completely. Can mother and daughter trust God to restore all things in His timing?
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
I really loved this book, and this entire series. I would recommend reading the first two books in the series before you read this one. I grew to love this family and these characters. The tension in this book is pretty thick at times, because of the situation with the adoptions, with Anna Grace not knowing that her real parents are right there in front of her, and Alexia wanting to find her real mom. It keeps you reading and not wanting to stop.
I highly recommend this book and this series to you for a fun and entertaining read, and especially if you enjoy Amish stories. And Kim Vogel Sawyer is one of the very best!

in Abingdon Press, LitFuse Blog Tours, Richard Mabry
The infection wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did. The treatment was supposed to take care of it, but it didn’t. Then Dr. Josh Pearson discovers why—his patients, including the former President of the United States, have been dosed with a different strain of the original virus, one that is universally fatal. The only chance for survival is treatment with an experimental drug, but the manufacturer might already have discarded its supply.
As if treating the President of the United States isn’t stressful enough, the situation goes from bad to worse when Rachel Moore, a nurse Josh is falling in love with, falls ill. With the nation’s eyes on him, Josh must pull off a miracle to save a man who holds a good deal of power and the woman who holds his heart.
MY THOUGTHS ON THIS BOOK
I love Richard Mabry’s books, and I loved Miracle Drug. The former President of the United States was intentionally exposed to a very rare virus, and newly appointed to his care was Dr Josh Pearson. Finding a treatment for this virus was more than a problem because the sample drug that was made to treat this virus was destroyed. Making matters worse, Dr. Pearson’s girlfriend ends up with the same virus, making the decision even more tense and stressful.
With interesting and unique characters, Miracle Drug is a fast, action packed suspense that will have you on your toes throughout the book! Just when I thought I had the bad guy figured out, another twist or turn would happen and I was at square one again. Thanks one of the things I love about Dr. Mabry’s books. Another unique thing about his books is that being a Doctor, Dr. Mabry has first hand experience and knowledge about anything medical. This is what makes his medical fiction so wonderful, the entire book is full of detailed medical scenes, all centered around sometime scary suspenseful situations!
I highly recommend Medical Drug to you for hours of fun fast pace suspense fun.

Kathleen is proud to be a military wife, even if it did mean giving up her Texas drivers license.
ABOUT THE BOOK
A new cowboy romance from award-winning author Kathleen Y’Barbo.
Trey’s biggest challenge isn’t performing surgery…it’s restoring Sessa’s heart!
Artist Sessa Chambers may never recover from losing her prodigal son. Even as she grieves the tragic decisions that led to his death, and left her with a toddler to raise, she’s asked to work on her dream project—restoring carousel horses for the Smithsonian. But she can’t do it on her own…
Dr. Trey Brown can’t pick up a scalpel again. Yes, he acted in self-defense, but the events of that awful night haunt him. He was trained to save lives, not take them. When he goes to the young man’s widowed mother to apologize, she’s not at all what he expected. For one thing, she’s not as alone as he thought—not with the fearsome ladies of the Pies, Books, and Jesus Book Club in her corner. For another, she’s beautiful, and being in her presence is more jolting than any eight-second bronco ride from his former rodeo days. Before he knows it, she’s captured his heart as easily as they capture the fireflies gracing Sessa’s Texas ranch.
How can they overcome their past to embrace a future together?

in Harvest House, Mindy Starnes Clark, Susan Meissner
From bestselling authors Mindy Starns Clark and Susan Meissner, The Amish Clockmaker (Book 3 in the Men of Lancaster County series) explores the men of an Amish community in Lancaster County, how their Amish beliefs play out in their unique roles, and the women who change their lives.
Newlywed Matthew Zook is expanding his family’s tack and feed store when a surprising property dispute puts the remodel on hold—and raises new questions about the location’s mysterious past.
Decades earlier, the same building housed a clock shop run by a young Amish clockmaker named Clayton Raber. Known for his hot temper, Clayton was arrested for the murder of his beloved wife, a crime almost everyone—including his own family members—believed he’d committed, even after charges were dropped. Isolated and feeling condemned by all, Clayton eventually broke from the church, left Lancaster County, and was never heard from again.
Now the only way Matthew can solve the boundary issue and save his family’s business is to track down the clockmaker. But does this put Matthew on the trail of a murderer?
A timeless novel of truth, commitment, and the power of enduring love, where secrets of the past give way to hope for the future.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Matthew Zook was shocked to find out the land he was using to expand his store was not his after all. After a lot of embarrassment and searching, the land belongs to long ago Amish clockmaker named Clayton Raber. Raber had a horrible temper and rumors were that he killed his young wife, but no one knew anything about it, or didn’t want to talk about it. Authors Mindy Starns Clark and Susan Meissner does a fantastic job of writing this story, weaving together the present with the past, uncovering long ago secrets and facts that were years ago swept under the rug and believed. This story ended up being a really sweet and heartwarming story, one that I still think about. The characters were so well created and developed that they were just like real! I felt as though I was talking with good friends. If you enjoy Amish fiction, then this one is a must for you. Go HERE and check it out.

The Amish of Ice Mountain
Three Book Series
by Kelly Long
Like most Mountain Amish girls, Mary King has always dreamed of her wedding day. But she never imagined that a sudden, irresistible kiss would result in marriage to the handsome Englischer professor studying her unique community. Or that doing the truly honorable thing means keeping their relationship chaste so both she and Dr. Jude Lyons can someday go their separate ways.
But when Mary accompanies her husband-in-name-only to Atlanta to meet his wealthy, overbearing family, she’s tempted more than ever by Jude’s kindness, humor–and vulnerability. And when a wrenching misunderstanding causes her to return heartbroken to her remote Appalachian home, she’s certain she’s lost the real love they have found…and the shared future she’s come to want so much. But a crisis of more than faith will work surprising miracles–and show Mary that love is strong enough to make the impossible come true.
“Long creates storylines that captivate her readers…” —RT Book Reviews
***************************
Joseph King has good reasons to work an oil rig far from his beloved Ice Mountain . . . and to mind his own business. He hopes to protect his younger brother Edward from worldly influences. And maybe he can finally forget how yielding to temptation forced him to leave home in disgrace. Still, no honorable Amish man would let Priscilla Allen and her four-year-old daughter remain homeless, living out of their car. And how can he not be drawn to the feisty waitress’s bravery and hidden strength . . .
Offering Priscilla a home on Ice Mountain as his wife-in-name-only gives her a place to start again. For Joseph, it’s also an unexpected chance to regain his reputation and standing in the community. But Priscilla’s warmth, caring, and determination to adjust to Amish society are renewing Joseph’s long-buried hope. Now as his guilt and her wrenching secrets threaten the fragile trust growing between them, they will need the riskiest of miracles to put the past to rest–and fulfill a promise only love and renewed faith can bring.

The Amish Heart of Ice Mountain
Two Amish Hearts
Young healer Sarah Mast always hopes for the best. But her betrothed’s return from working Englischer oil rigs is confirming her worst fears. She no longer recognizes Edward King as the honorable man who’s been courting her—someone who now wants his people to sell their precious mountain land to a drilling company. And no matter how appealing his touch, she can’t see a future for them. Until a misunderstanding and the laws of the Old Order leave them no choice but to wed. Living together in Sarah’s simple log cabin, surrounded by the love and faith of the mountain Amish, Sarah and Edward will have a heaven-sent chance to truly know each other for the first time . . .

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS SERIES OF BOOKS
When I saw the cover of these books, I really had to have them, because I love pretty covers. And these are very good and well written stories, I just don’t agree with them being listing as Christian or Inspirational fiction. In book one, The Amish Bride of Ice Mountain, I felt the author went overboard with giving detailed descriptions of the love scenes, this is for secular books, not books labeled as Christian fiction. Then I read the second book, The Man of Ice Mountain and it was even worse even more detailed scenes. I respect people who enjoy this type of book, but not if they are listed as Christian. For this reason, I didn’t bother to read Book Three, because I didn’t want to waist one or two days on a book I didn’t feel comfortable reading. Like I said, these are really good stories, but they are definitely NOT Christian or Inspirational fiction. I am sorry but I can not support contents like that here.
