Wow! I knew this book had to be awesome when I saw the four amazing authors who writes these four novellas. Sincerely Yours is a sweet romance collection that I thoroughly enjoyed! Each of these authors bring their own unique writing style to each story, and I really can’t pick a favorite, because I loved them all! Each story was full of historical facts, information and details and I fell in love with each character as they played out their part in the story. And in addition to the history throughout each story, I really enjoyed the ending of each story where the author tells a bit more about the history behind the story they wrote. I just can’t say enough about each of these stories. And the one thing I love about a collection of novella’s, I can pretty much read one of the stories in one setting. So if you don’t have time for a full length book, this one is just what you need!

Love’s Sweet Beginning by Ann Shorney from Revell

Love Sweet Beginning

by Ann Shorney

What will it take for a once-privileged young woman to make her way in the world?

It isn’t Cassie Haddon’s fault that she has reached the age of twenty-five without possessing any useful skills. Until the War Between the States, she always had servants. Since then, she and her mother have been forced to rely on family to care for them. But now the well of human kindness has run dry–and Cassie must find work to support them.
Unfortunately, leaving the past behind is easier said than done, and Cassie must summon all of her courage and wits to convince local restaurateur and grocer Jacob West that she’s exactly what his business needs.
With her signature sweet romance, Ann Shorey weaves a tale of two people from different backgrounds finding common ground and the hope of a bright future together.

I have been looking forward to reading Love’s Sweet Beginning, the third book in Ann Shorney’s Sisters at Heart Series, and I loved it, loved it loved it! I really like Cassie, and as she struggled to find her way in real life after being pampered all of her life was heartwarming. At least she was willing to work as a dishwasher in order to provide for she and her mother. I got annoyed at Cassie’s mother though, the way she expected to move in on someone and have them take care of her hand and foot. This mother and daughter pair had a lot to learn about living, thanks to the war that took everything from them. This is a wonderfully written historical fiction, and I know you will enjoy it just as much as I did! This is a delightful read that everyone will enjoy. Though it is better to read the three books in order, it is just as interesting reading Love’s Sweet Beginning as a stand alone!

When the Heart Heals by Ann Shorey

When the Heart Heals

by Ann Shorey

About this book!

In a country healing from war, can a young woman find healing for her heart?

Courageous and unconventional, Rosemary Saxon served as a nurse during the Civil War, a service that has caused most women in town to regard her as unfeminine and even downright vulgar. Although she would like to put that part of her life behind her, she needs to support herself. She takes a nursing position with Dr. Elijah Stewart, but whenever they are together they always seem to do or say the wrong things. When someone threatens Rosemary, will she find the courage to stand, or will she leave town-and Elijah-forever?

With tenderness and grace, Ann Shorey invites you back to the town of Noble Springs, Missouri, for an engrossing story of love’s tentative first steps and fragile future in the face of opposition.

My Thoughts on this Book

Rosemary Saxon wants to be accepted in her community for the nurse that she is, but at this time in history, women just didn’t have that position. So she applies for a position and was accepted to help Dr. Elijah Stewart in the small town of Noble Springs. But then petty things started causing conflict between Rosemary and the Doc.

I really enjoyed this wonderful book by Ann Shorey. I love the small community of Noble Springs and its people, and slow pace lives, where most people took care of each other. Rosemary was a sweetheart, and never minded helping others in need. But would Dr. Stewart accept her way of helping others, both medically and giving someone a home to live in? Ann Shorey gives readers an amazing story of love, forgives and acceptance that will stay with you long after you finish reading the pages. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fiction, and especially historical fiction! You will not be disappointed!

How far will she go to follow her dreams?

The Civil War stole a father and brother from Faith Lindberg–as well

as Royal Baxter, the man she wanted to marry. With only her

grandfather left, she dreams of leaving Noble Springs, Missouri, and

traveling west to Oregon to start a new life, away from the memories

that haunt her. But first she must convince her grandfather to sell the

family’s mercantile and leave a town their family has called home for

When Royal Baxter suddenly returns, Faith allows herself to hope that

she and Royal will finally wed. But does he truly love her? Or will

another man claim her heart?

My Thoughts on this book!

Faith and her grandfather had lost so much, the only way Faith thought they could be happy again was to take off on the Oregon Trail and start a new life in the West. This has been Faith’s dream for a while, and now it was making her grandfather realize the same thing. But getting him to leave their home in the small Missouri town of Noble Springs was not going to be easy.

But then things started happening that drew Faith to their home, even though Faith wasn’t aware of it yet.

Her grandfather put Faith in charge of the store, letting her run it as she pleased. This did not make a lot of the men in the area happy, but it wasn’t long before these men, as well as the rest of the neighbors were warming up to Faith, accepting her as the new store manager.

Royal, a guy that promised Faith he would keep her ribbon and remember her while he was in the war came back in town. And though he didn’t remember her or the ribbon when she asks him about it, he decided to woo her, but did he really love her?

Then she meets Rosemary, who becomes like a sister to Faith. Not to mention Rosemary’s brother Curt, to which both Curt and Faith were attracted to each other, but neither seemed to realize it for a while.

Her grandfather’s health issues, Curt becoming friends with her granddad and spending time with him, the break-ins, Curt always being there for her when she really needed someone.

But Faith just couldn’t see that they should stay in Noble Springs, she was still determined to leave, after all this was her dream.

I thoroughly enjoyed this historical fiction story, with characters that I loved more and more as I continued to read the book. That is all buy Royal, this guy just irks me, I wanted him out of Faith’s life to give Curt a chance! The history in the story is so very detailed you feel like you are there, walking around the little town visiting all of the shops, talking to the owners of the businesses there. I love the feel of the small town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone else, well, and everyone knows your business, which is not so good sometimes too! But still, I love it! I am looking forward to Ann Shorey’s next book in this series. This is just a wonderfully good read, so go grab a copy for yourself to read and enjoy!
