Book Description:

Someone’s trying to frame this ambitious theater performer for murder. Can she get back to her adoring public and escape the noose?

1885. Arabella Pryce is struggling with heartbreak. And with her recently deceased husband’s will demanding she leave her celebrity behind and refurbish her namesake hotel in Colorado, the distressed actress is forced to board a westbound train. But she’s barely arrived at the haunted, broken-down lodge when the town beauty shows up dead in one of the rooms… and Arabella is named the prime suspect.

Already feeling the sting of the community’s disapproval, she grits her teeth and works with a mischievous ghost to help prove her innocence. But with blood-stained evidence, handsome sheriffs, and libelous journalists turning her investigation into a dangerous drama, this determined thespian fears she’s missed her cue for survival.

Can she shine the spotlight on a killer before more than her reputation dies a horrible death?

The Pryce of Conceit is the suspenseful first book in The Arabella Pryce Historical Cozy Mystery series. If you like driven heroines, atmospheric settings, and dashes of humor, then you’ll love Kari Bovée’s lighthearted twists and turns.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK!

The Pryce of Conceit is a Historical Ghost Cozy Mystery by Kari Bovee that will have you looking everywhere for the guilty person. Set in 1885, I enjoyed the history in each scene, and the way the characters developed as they told the story. Arabella Pryce is left with her husband’s haunted hotel. How is she ever to clean this place up for anything? But things take a tailspin when Pryce is wanted for murder. What is Arabella suppose to do?

Kari Bovee writes a phenomenal murder mystery that I didn’t want to put down. With rain pouring outside, this is the perfect book to cozy up with coffee and a blanket. Following Arabella Pryce and her journey form the beginning to arriving at the fallen down hotel and being a suspect for murder, and trying to find the culprit, has me right in the middle of this mystery. I found myself reading and re-reading the pages to try and figure out whodunit. This is such a wonderful book to read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. If nyou love cozy murder mysteries, this is a must for you. And if you haven’t tried any Kari Bovee books, this is your perfect time to start a new series. I just can’t recommend this book enough. Run out to the nearest bookstore and find it. I’m giving this book Five Stars and I would give it more if I could.
