A Place to Belong by Lauraine Snelling

Chuck Wagons Crossing the Prairies

The Exciting Conclusion to Lauraine Snelling’s WILD WEST WIND series8

As winter settles over the Engstrom ranch, Cassie Lockwood has a lot on her mind. The way Lucas Engstrom smiles at her should set her heart to tripping. But it doesn’t. Shouldn’t there be some attraction to him if they are going to be married? His vow to make her love him doesn’t seem to be working, no matter how considerate and charming he is. And then there’s the look she caught him sending Betsy Hudson at church one Sunday. Are she and Lucas drifting apart?

During a short trip away, Cassie realizes she must make other plans for her future. But what will the Engstroms say when she announces plans to leave the ranch and join a Wild West show?

Second Chance at Love

Whether your marriage was blissful or challenging, lengthy or short, it didn’t end the way you imagined. Regardless of how you found yourself without a life partner, you may be at a point where you’d like to experience the love of a spouse again. Authors Shirley and Jim Mozena experienced devastating losses and then struggles in their relationships before finding renewed love with each other, and in Second Chance at Love they offer their insights to these difficult questions:

  • Are you really ready?
  • Is now the time?
  • How do you know if you’ve found the right one?
  • Is the potential pain of losing another spouse worth it?

The authors approach their answers with practical reality and their own vulnerability. They share the experiences of their first marriages, their second marriages, their journeys through what seemed like devastating losses, and the gifts of finding love and another chance to share their lives with a spouse after death and divorce.

In addition to the down-to-earth guidance on the situations you face when considering marrying again, Shirley and Jim have created valuable questionnaires to identify issues and facilitate discussions with potential mates. The information contained in this book will give you confidence and peace as you navigate these hopeful waters.

Author Interview

How long does it take you to write a book?

About two years. I write the first draft, work with a coach, re-write, share with my writing group, re-write again. Work with an editor and then it’s done. Kind of a long “pregnancy” but the baby is worth all of the time!

2.  As a non-fiction writer, have you ever thought about transferring over to fiction?

I’ve thought about it, tried it a little and so far am not happy with my results. I love to read fiction, though and get ideas for my non-fiction writing.

3.Do you prefer writing in silence or to music?

I like silence sometimes and if I play music, I enjoy classical.

4. Give six things your readers may not know about you?

1. I climbed Mt Hood six times

2. I play violin

3. Love to dance even though I’m not great at it.

4. Climbed Mt St. Helens 11 times

5. I flipped a sports car on its top—one day after my husband installed a roll bar.

6. I took flight lessons in a Taylorcraft airplane.

5.  Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?

I am honored when a reader comments—or even reads what I’ve written.

A Note from the Author

Thank you for joining me for the dramatic conclusion to The Bartolini Legacy trilogy. A diary and a secret totally upend the lives of the three Bartolini siblings and creates an unforgettable summer…

Life is full of surprises—some of them good—some of them not so good. And then there are the surprises you never saw coming that upend everything you thought you knew. That’s what happens to the Bartolini family. And the repercussions shake everyone’s foundations, including Enzo, the eldest Bartolini sibling.

Since an early age, Enzo had been taught to look out for his sisters. But he wasn’t able to protect them from the pain of learning their family’s long held secret. And now he feels as though he failed them as well as being betrayed by the people he trusted most in this world—his parents.

Wedding planner Sylvie DeLuca has never had an easy life. With her father dying before she could know him and years later losing her mother, she’s alone in the world. But when a job assisting with a royal wedding leads to her having a dream job in Tuscany, she wonders if at last she’s home.

But when her pregnancy test comes up positive just as Enzo announces he’s selling the Bartolini estate, what’s Sylvie to do? Start over elsewhere? Or fight for the estate she’s come to love?

Happy reading,
— Jennifer

THE ITALIAN’S UNEXPECTED HEIR is Jennifer Faye’s third book in this series. In previous books, Sylvie is the current wedding planner at the Bartolini vineyard. This story is about Sylvia and Enzo, who have been good friends for a while and though they haven’t figured it out, they have feelings for each other. Ms. Faye does a wonderful job of exploring these feeling within the pages of this book. The Itailian part of it and the vivid descriptions, and those of the vineyard are described in such a way you way to jump on a plane for Italy right away! But since I will never go, it was sure fun reading about it!

It’s been fun reading this delightful series, and I sure hate seeing it send. I like forward to seeing what is next in store with Jennifer Faye. If you love a sweet Romance, you may way to try out this book.
