MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK   #SHATour

Sweet Home Alaska is a sweet heartwarming read. I didn’t read the first book in this series, but I think this one is fine as a stand alone. Author Beth Carpenter does a wonderful job of writing detailed scenes of Alaska throughout the story, and even though I’ve never been there, I felt as though I was in the middle of this story. I did get annoyed at Scott and Volta a number of times because they were making a relationship more difficult than it should have been. I was impressed at the characters so craftly created, each fitting their place in the story and developing so well as the plot continued.

I like the way Ms. Carpenter weaves the awesome beauty of Alaska and the difficulty its citizens have because of the horrific weather, as well as the vast space that makes it hard to get around in an emergency. The scenes crafted about these difficult issues shows in an amazing way what people who live there go through. All in all, this is a wonderful, sweet and clean romance that will give you hours of enjoyment.

About the Author

Once upon a time …

when Beth Carpenter was a little girl, she read everything she could get her hands on, and entertained herself on the school bus by making up stories in her head. Not a lot has changed. She’s still consuming books like M&Ms, and spends her days creating happily-ever-afters for her imaginary friends.

She lives in Alaska and Arizona with her husband and an aggressively affectionate fifty-pound lap dog. She loves to hear from readers.
