AN AMISH SUMMER

By Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller and Shelley Shepard Gray

Book Description

A new novella collection of sweet, summer romances from some of our favorite Amish authors!

A Reunion in Pinecraft by Shelley Shepard Gray

When sisters Sharon and Sherilyn Kramer attend a wedding in Shipshewana, one of them returns with a new penpal while the other returns to her job at the bakery. After sending weekly letters back and forth, Sherry and Graham Holland arrange a reunion in Pinecraft. Upon Graham’s arrival, however, he realizes he’s been writing to the wrong sister. He decides to use the reunion as a way to get to know both sisters, but can he sort through the confusion in time to turn the worst vacation ever into something truly wonderful?

Summer Storms by Amy Clipston

Ariana is counting down the days until her wedding to Jesse. They have been friends longer than Arianna can remember, and that friendship turned into love over the past couple of years. But when Arianna’s brother Tobias, who happens to be Jesse’s best friend, gets them both into trouble, Arianna’s father puts an end to her engagement to Jesse. Some summer storms pass quickly, but Arianna is afraid the damage from this one may be too much to repair.

Lakeside Love by Kathleen Fuller

Esther has always lived in the shadow of her beautiful younger sister Sarah. Even the boy she has known—and loved—her entire life, Judah, only has eyes for Sarah. But when a handsome young Englischer comes to live with the family for a summer, everything begins to change.

One Sweet Kiss by Kelly Irvin

Everybody in little Bee County, Texas, can see the obvious: Jacob King and Martha Byler are meant to be together. Everyone, that is, but Martha. Ever since her mother died when Martha was a young girl, she has taken over the role of caregiver to her large family. And reckless Jacob, who has had a little too much fun on his rumspringa, only seems to add to the list of people to manage. But one summer changes everything, and these two may just find a way to meet in the middle and share one sweet kiss.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the Amish collections of Novella’s from so many amazing authors. And An Amish Summer is quickly added to that awesome list of books. From Shelley Shepard Gray’s Graham and Sherry’s surprised meeting, to Amy Clipston’s Ariana being devastated about her dad forcing her breakup with Jesse, to Kathleen Fuller’s sisters Esther and Sarah, and Kelly Irvin as she takes readers back to Bee County, Texas and Martha Baylee’s life taking care of her family, you will four sweetly pinned stories that will warm your heart. I love that I could sit and read each story at one time. And I enjoyed the hours of enjoyment and entertainment from reading each of these stories in this book. Each author does an amazing job of creating characters and developing them into a family we as readers can love.

If you enjoy Amish stories, or a good clean read for your enjoyment, I highly recommend An Amish Summer for your summer read. This book was provided by the publisher’s tour team, BookLook Bloggers. The opinions here are mine alone  I was not required to write a review for this book. This review is my honest opinion if the book and authors.

Trusting Grace by Maggie Brendan

Trusting Grace by Maggie Brendan

ABOUT THIS BOOK

All of her life, Grace Bidwell has longed for a loving husband and children, but now the chances of her dreams coming true are looking slim. Widowed and caring for her elderly father, she struggles to maintain her late husband’s ranch, until she places an ad for a hired hand.

Robert Frasier arrives in town with three pitiful, bedraggled children who have nothing but the tattered clothes on their backs and a load of hurt, pride, and anger. Believing this is divine intervention in her life, Grace welcomes them with open arms. As feelings grow between her and Robert, Grace will have to convince him that she is a woman who can be trusted with his heart.

Readers will be swept away into 1860s Montana’s lush Gallatin Valley, nestled among towering mountains and proud pines, in this emotional conclusion to the Virtues and Vices of the Old West series.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Wow! I this is definitely a book I will keep and read again! Grace Bidwell lost her husband much too soon and is left trying to take care of her sick father as well as their potato farm, but it gets to be too much for her. She places an ad for help, and it was there in Eli’s Mercantile that she meets Robert and his three children. All looking to be in need of clothes and food. With discouragement from the oldest child, Grace buys the children peppermint sticks after hearing their dad say they didn’t have money for the candy. This is when I fell in love with Grace Bidwell and her sweet caring heart.

Set in 1860’s Montana, Trusting Grace is truly what this sort is all about. As Robert works for Grace and her dad, and Grace spends time with him and the kids, the two begins to have feels for each other, and Grace had her work cut out for her as she strives to convince Robert they can be together. Graces Loves Roberts children and wants to be a mom to them. But Robert isn’t so sure.

I loved Grace’s character, with her sweet and caring personality, and the love she has taking care of her father. Robert had to go on me a bit, as he struggled through the issues he is facing. As Ms. Brendan weaves the together the lives of these characters, we can see the love, forgiveness and grace extended by God to all of them. I received this book from The Publisher Revell to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.
