MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

In Bounce Back, Julie Clinton deals with life, when you think you can’t go on. As the statement on the front of the book states so well, “When your heart is empty and your dreams are lost.” This is a heartwarming book to use as a Bible study, whether it be individual or small groups study, or a Sunday school class, ladies who go through this book will better understand how they can have the life God has for you, even after you think its all over for you. You can heal and grow in your Christian life, and Ms. Clinton gives us a wonderful book to help us do that. A couple of the chapters are, Decide to Breathe, Believe and Bounce Back, and Reclaim Your Lost Time and Opportunity, and there are several more chapters dealing with stress, limitations, loneliness and becoming stronger. If you are looking for a new Bible study, I strongly encourage you to give Bounce Back a try. Your life just might change forever.

Poison Town

Book Summary
In this breathtaking follow-up to
Fear Has a Name
, investigative reporter Jack Crittendon learns his long-time friend and mechanic has fallen suspiciously ill. The man’s likeable sons and neighbors blame a mega-manufacturing plant on the poor side of Trenton City, Ohio, for the sickness and death ravaging their loved ones.  When Jack investigates, he becomes engulfed in a smokescreen of lies, setups, greed, and scandal. The deeper he digs, without his editor’s permission, the more toxic the corruption he uncovers. As Jack meets the big-time players behind the scenes and tries to beat the clock before more people die, he realizes the chillingly unthinkable—he knows too much.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Wow, this book will make your head spin! Creston Mapes is one awesome author! There is so much going through my mind right now about this book I don’t know where to start. Jack Crittendon is a top notch investigative newspaper reporter and he will dig for the truth, and report it, no matter what. That is until his boss starts backing away from Crittendon’s stories he is on to. There has to be a reason so many people are getting sick in the small community of hard working people, but it seems no one wants to talk. But Crittendon is determined to find out the truth. But this puts his family and those around him in danger. The big question is, who will win? Crittendon or this huge manufacturing company that is clearly causing chemicals to leak out among this low income community?
If you enjoy a really good suspense/thriller, you Need to read this book! You will not be disappointed in Poison Town, this second book from Creston Mapes in The Crittendon Files series. This can be read as a stand alone book because it is about a different story Jack is investigating, but it is nice to read the first book, Fear Has a Name to get to know the people a little better. Both books are awesome and I strongly encourage you to pick up a copy for your reading enjoyment.

Echoes of Mercy by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Echoes of Mercy

by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Echoes of Mercy ABOUT THIS BOOKSometimes a secret must be kept for the truth to be revealed.

When a suspicious accident occurs at the famous Dinsmore Chocolate Factory in Sinclair, Kansas, Caroline Lang goes undercover as a factory worker to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event and how the factory treats its youngest employees—the child workers. Caroline’s fervent faith, her difficult childhood, and compassionate heart drove her to her job as an investigator for the Labor Commission and she is compelled to see children freed from such heavy adult responsibilities, to allow them to pursue an education.

Oliver Dinsmore, heir to the Dinsmore candy dynasty, has his own investigation to conduct. Posing as a common worker known as “Ollie Moore,” he aims to find out all he can about the family business before he takes over for his father. Caroline and Oliver become fast friends, but tension mounts when the two find themselves at odds about the roles of child workers. Hiding their identities becomes even more difficult when fate brings them together over three children in desperate need. When all is revealed, will the truth destroy the love starting to grow between them? – See more at: http://waterbrookmultnomah.com/catalog.php?work=221540#sthash.u5LxZlRY.dpuf

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Caroline Lang and Oliver Dinsmore are both working undercover at the famous Dinsmore Chocolate Factory in Sinclair, Kansas, but for different reasons. Oliver for family reasons, and Caroline for the Labor Commission to find out all information she can about the company hiring underage children as their employees.

This was a really interesting book dealing with the difficult situation of child labor. Of course it was different in the 1800’s but still an enlightening book and one I enjoyed very much! Of course anything from Kim Vogel Sawyer is just plain fantastic in my book! I love, love all of her books! And am happy to add this one to my collection. I thought the characters in Echoes of Mercy were solid and I really like Caroline! I like her determination and spunk, and the tensions were flying high as this story unfolds. Ms. Sawyer does an extremely awesome job of giving her readers a compelling suspenseful story with enough interesting excitement, sweet romance, and a determined passion to accurately do the job these wonderful characters are placed in the chocolate factory to do!

I promise you, this is one you want to put on your reading list! You will not be disappointed with this choice!  I received this book from the publisher Waterbrook Multnomah through their Blogging for Books probram to read and review.  I was not required to write a positive review. MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is another awesome story by Barbara Cameron! And I was surprised and pleased to hear from my friends from a previous series by Barbara, Matthew and Jenny Bontrager! In A Road Unknown, Elizabeth leaves her Amish home and community in Indiana and moves into an apartment in Paradise, Pennsylvania, with her Englisch friend, Paula. I felt so sorry for Elizabeth because she was shy, getting on a big bus taking her miles away from home, where she only knew one person. It was a difficult trip for her, but Elizabeth was so determined. And as it ended up, multiple time, God clearly shows Elizabeth that He has a plan for her, and she trusted Him. I really liked the two carved birds she brought as a reminder of God’s love and grace. Elizabeth meets many new friends and some family that she grows to love, but you will need to read the book to find out if the pressures from home calls her back to her old Amish community and a large family that think they need her.

Barbara Cameron is one of the best Amish fiction writers in my book! If you enjoy a good Amish story, this is one you don’t want to miss. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this series to read.

Friend Me

by  John Faubion

ABOUT THIS BOOK

When a lonely wife and her frustrated husband each secretly pursue companionship online, neither dreams that a real woman is behind their virtual creations, threatening their marriage—and their lives.

Scott and Rachel’s marriage is on the brink of disaster. Scott, a businessman with a high-pressure job, just wants Rachel to understand him and accept his flaws. Rachel is a lonely housewife, desperate for attention and friendship. So she decides to create a virtual friend online, unaware that Scott is doing the exact same thing. As Rachel desperately tries to re-create a friendship with a friend who has passed, Scott becomes unfaithful and is torn between the love for his wife and the perfection of his cyber-girlfriend. But neither realizes that there’s a much larger problem looming…

Behind both of their online creations is Melissa, a woman who is brilliant—and totally insane. Masquerading as both friend and lover, Melissa programmed a search parameter into the virtual friend software to find her perfect man, but along the way she forgot to specify his marriage status. And Scott is her ideal match. Now Melissa is determined to have it all—Scott, his family, and Rachel’s life.

As Melissa grows bolder and her online manipulations transition into the real world, Scott and Rachel figure out they are being played. Now it’s a race against time as Scott and Rachel fight to save their marriage, and their lives, before it’s too late.

In today’s digital age, the Internet presents all kinds of opportunities to test our personal boundaries, and this exciting and suspenseful story raises important questions about the ethics of virtual relationships. Friend Me will open your eyes to a new—and terrifying—moral dimensions and how they play out in the real world.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This book started of with a bang, or you can call it a murder! I was kind of surprised, because I wasn’t expecting it, but it sure captured my attention!  Though this is a fictional book, the story is really scary because it enlightens readers to just what can happen when you seek the internet for the companionship. And this is just what the characters did in this story. I thought Rachel acted sort of childish and selfish, just thinking of herself. Scott’s character was much more solid, but even at that, we can see how the internet pulled him in to its forces. Reading this made me realize even more that there is loads of good stuff, and a wealth of information with internet access, but there are a lot of bad to go right along with it. The fake friend thing, it sounded a bit far-fetched, but then it is something that people would definitely be drawn into that kind of fantasy.

This was a really good first book by author John Faubion and I look forward to more from this author in the future. I received this book from the publisher Litfuse Publicity Group to read and review.  I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
