A Lady in the Making

by Susan Page Davis

Book Blurb

Millie Evans has changed, choosing to leave rather than join an outlaw gang with her brother. Hoping for a new future, she boards a stagecoach and finds that one of the passengers is David Stone–a man she and her brother once tried to swindle. As she tries to convince David she’s different now, her brother’s gang holds up the stagecoach. Fighting beside David goes a long way to softening his heart, but he’s still not convinced. Someone is trying to keep him from reaching England to claim his inheritance. Is Millie involved? Millie must trust God to show David the truth, but will he see before it’s too late?

My Thoughts on this Book

In this third book in the Prairie Dreams Series, we read Millie Evan’s story. In the first book, Millie was helping her brother steal whatever he could get his hands on. But as time went on, Millie decided she wanted to change, and she wanted to work for a living instead of steal from others. But will Millie be able to convince those who knew her before, and especially David Stone, that she has truly made a definite change in her life?

I think this is my favorite book of the series. I really enjoyed the changed Millie and was sure rooting for she and David to finally be together. But there is so many twists and turns, and things happening in this story, it just seems too good to be true for David to forgive her. And then there awaits potential problems when David finally reaches England and his family home.

With a cast of characters that are truly believable and interesting, A Lady In the Waiting will sure entertain you as you spend your time reading. With vivid details of the trip to England, and everything it entails, there is enough action to keep you turning the pages until the very last word. I encourage you to pick up a copy of this wonderful book for your enjoyment. And wile you are at it, don’t for to pick the first two book in The Prairie Dreams Series so you can read them together.

I received this book free from Barbour Books to read and review. I was
not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my
