When a Heart Stops
by Lynette Eason
A killer’s deadly game needs new players . . . but someone’s about to change the rules
As a medical examiner, Serena Hopkins is used to dealing with death. But that doesn’t make it any easier when she’s called to the eerie scene of a murder–especially when Serena realizes that she knows the victim. Nearly as unnerving is the presence of FBI agent Dominic Allen, her childhood crush.
As evidence mounts and points to a serial killer with disturbingly familiar methods, Serena and Dominic must work to find a pattern and stop the killings before the murderer strikes again. And when Serena’s own life seems at stake, she must decide if the secret she has been keeping has put her next on the killer’s hit list. Can she trust Dominic with the truth before it’s too late?
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
When a Heart Stops continues the story of Lynette Eason’s first book, When the Smoke Clears focuses on Serena, someone is sure out to kill her, but why. Could it be the package Jullian sent her to keep, telling her not to open it unless something happens to her? Dominic is an FBI agent and is relieved to be working on this case with Serena, especially since there is definitely an attraction between them. But people are losing their lives, and no one seems to be able to find a motive. But then why is Serena not telling anyone about the package?
As this story unfolds, and the characters develop, there are so much going on, so many twists and turns this book will have your head spinning. The real like characters develop well as the story goes on, and pulls you into the story with all of the action. I really enjoy Lynette Eason’s books. But I will have to say that, in this series, too many people has to loose their lives, and it really all boils down to a single package. And the thing is, there is still a third book, and how many more people will loose their lives. I guess its just a little too much killing for me. But I will get the third book to read, cause I want to find out about the package, and find out just who is behind all of this mysterious package deal.
If you enjoy series killer books and fast pace thrillers, then this book is for you. You will not be disappointed in this entire series.
